Gun Confiscation, “Could Be An Option”

In my last post just only hours ago, I posited the notion that Gun Guntrol advocates are, in fact “Coming for our Guns.”

“Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun, but permit it.” —NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo

During a radio interview New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated, “Confiscation could be an option,” referencing semi-automatic rifles, liberals like to call, “Assault Weapons.” Cuomo told WGDJ-AM of his  gun control proposals that he will outline at his State of the State Address on January 9.

Gov. Cuomo said:

“I don’t think legitimate sportsmen are going to say, ‘I need an assault weapon to go hunting.’ There is a balance here, I understand the rights of gun owners.”

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

You can’t make this stuff up! “Whistle Smoke Dope, Drink Beer While you work!” Thirteen UAW auto workers have been reinstated with back pay after being fired when they were caught drinking and smoking dope on break. In my own slice of world, reasonable people agree this rises to the level of workplace misconduct. I am confused here. I think I need to recap some facts as one who has served in the United States Military.  Moreover, I think Park Jae-sang, the artist also know as “PSY” of Gag-em-style fame…(or is that Gangnam?)…oh whatever the hell it is…I think he played Hooky from school on History day.

On 25 June 1950, North Korean Communist forces crossed the 38th parallel, sparking what liberals like to call, “The Korean Conflict.” We all know however, it was a war. Driving back communist forces all the way to the Yalu River, prompted the People’s Republic of China to enter the war.  After three years of bloody fighting, an uneasy armistice  was inked on27 July, 1953. The Armistice brought fighting to a conclusion and established the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North Korea and South Korea. To this day, U.S forces still occupy the two and a half-mile wide DMZ with minor skirmishes taking place from time to time.

Anti-Hunting Sentiments Are Alive And Well In The Granite State

Yet another anti-hunting hit piece. The ever-dependable Concord Monitor features such fare. In writing for the Monitor, Barbara Bonsignore provides the straw argument, “Hunters claim that they kill the weak and starving animals, thus helping the population.” I have never heard any hunter make that argument.  Ethical hunters are consumptive hunters and our hunting ethos recognizes game animals as a resource not to be wasted.

Bonsignore…well-connected to the New Hamsphire Animal Rights League, (one source indicates she was its’ President at one time) makes several fallacious arguments and claims against hunting.
