A New York statute targeting Chick-fil-A for its Christian faith turns American history—and Constitutional law—upside down. The “Rest Stop Restaurant Act” seeks to compel food service providers to stay open seven days a week in publicly-owned rest areas and other facilities, or be denied contracts to provide services.

The New Manhattan Island “Toll”
The goal is to get people to give up their mobility, which coincides both practually and culturally with the idea of freedom—the right to travel without papers anywhere in the nation. But if you want to enter Manhattan, it will cost you a lot more, thanks to a new mobility control plan.
Judge Says New York State’s Dept. of Health Can Have Its Quarantine Powers Back
Frau Hocul and New York State’s Public Health Industrial Complex are celebrating a recent court win. A policy of forced quarantine that had been struck down as unconstitutional has been resurrected like some undead beast to feed on Lady Liberty.
How About a New Tax to Pay for All These New Illegals Alienating Urban City Dwellers
New York City is full of Demcorats. Millions of them. The city is also swelling from the influx of illegal border crossers doing business as ‘migrants,’ their word, not mine. The cost of that preferred policy has come home to roost with the progressive chickens, and the stress fractures are evident everywhere.
NY Unlikely to Save VT Climate Plan – (Empire Staters just as clueless about how to meet GHG goals)
Vermont’s Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) requires our state to meet some very stringent greenhouse gas reduction targets in 2025, 2030, and 2050. To be precise, 26% below 2005 levels by 2025, 40% below 1990 levels by 2030, and 80% below by 2050.
Trump, Apparently, Believes Lockdowns “Worked,” And Presumably Would Lockdown Again
A little dated … but extremely relevant. Trump claims that Andrew Cuomo was a better COVID-Governor than DeSantis. There are no facts/data to support this claim. Indeed, the facts/data disprove this claim … Florida had a larger and much, older population than New York and when scale is accounted for did better than New York. … Read more
New York State Dems Ban Natural Gas in New Construction (Heat, Stoves, All of It!)
In one of the finest examples of backward thinking Progressivism, the fuel responsible more than anything in the past two decades for lowering American emissions (if you still think that’s a thing we should do) was just banned by NY Democrats.
Judge Said No, But Heil Hochul Still Wants Her Public Health Detention Camps
If British colonials tried to infect native populations by giving them blankets with smallpox, it was never formally attempted in the Americas, and there’s no evidence if tried that it worked. New York State, on the other hand, sent COVID infected into nursing homes.
The Foolishness Grows Daily
I wrote earlier about the reaction of Mayors Bowser and Adams of D.C. and New York about the buses of illegal aliens they are receiving compliments of the geographic border states. I say geographic only to distinguish the states we used to associate with our Border with Mexico from the Border States of the Northeast.
NY Judge Tells NYC That Letting Illegal Immigrants Vote “Legally” Violates the Constitution
The promise of prolonged Democrat rule is a city in a ditch, on fire, with rampant crime and poop-covered streets. The product of decades of bad policy, broken promises, and corruption. But Democrats like ruling over ruin, and they’d do anything to keep it that way.
NY Judge Rules States’ COVID Quarantine Rules are Unconstitutional
In February of 2022, after much consideration, gnashing of teeth, and soul-searching (that’s sarcasm), the State of New York imposed a draconian quarantine rule upon the people of the Empire State, ‘cuz COVID! Try not to act surprised. It is unconstitutional.
Breaking News – “Supreme Court Strikes Down New York Concealed Carry Restrictions”
Proper cause to carry concealed is a common requirement of state or local jurisdictions if you need to apply for permission to exercise that right, but the US Supreme Court just declared it unconstitutional.
What is This Lunacy About
Mayor Adams of New York City has been inhaling too many subway fumes. What other excuse could there be for the billboard campaign he unveiled this week. The campaign is not for signs in New York but in Florida. Really, not a parody.
NYC Mayor: Adults Who Like to Talk to Young Children About Sex Will Love New York City!
You’ll have heard by now that “educators™” are quitting their jobs in Florida. These adults are furious at the state for daring to suggest it is inappropriate for them to talk to other people’s young kids about sexuality. And for daring to pass a law that prohibits it.
Have a Holly, Commie Christmas!
What would the holidays be without a few special people working very hard to destroy festive cheer and…..democracy? Senator Richard Blumenthal spoke and handed out awards at a Communist Party Awards Ceremony.
I Have Dodged So Many Bullets
I grew up in upstate New York in a small town called Port Crane, which lay along the once burgeoning Chenango Canal. I spent many youthful hours in another stop on that ancient canal system, the fire station in Port Dickinson, NY, which my grandfather established.
New York State Tells “Frontline” Workers, No Jab? – No Job, AND No Unemployment Benefits
Those advocating mandatory vaccination are the problem. These people are dangerous. Yes, because they want you to introduce a chemical into your body you do not want but more so because they want the government to have the power to do it or wreck your life if you refuse.
Can a Female Gov in NY Fix the “Harassment Culture” in Wake of Cuomo Departure? – Nope!
Handy Cuomo is walking the jetway toward his departure from politics (both NY and National). His gubernatorial successor is a woman, as is hers (the new Lt. Gov. is female). There is speculation about whether this transition might solve the “harassment problem.” They are all Democrats, so I’d go with no.
Momma Grizzly Takes School Board “of Thieves” to the Wood Shed – Brings Receipts.
Wowzers – tell us what you REALLY think, Mom! Let these dunderheads know that your kids are NOT THEIR kids! And they really tried to shut her up and shut her down – boy, that was a mistake!
Stick a Fork In Andrew Cuomo, He’s Done!
The Cuomo has problems. His mishandling of the mishandling of his COVID19 Nursing home scandal is his undoing. He’s unpopular with his own Legislature. The FBI and DOJ are investigating him for obstruction. Cuomo is also facing civil litigation.
