Does Merrimack Journal Editor Susan Clark Know Merrimack is a Republican Town?

This week’s Merrimack Journal is a left-wing work of art. It includes seven letters to the Editor. All seven are in support of Democrats.  Six of the seven have headlines that either downgrade Romney or Promote Obama. (One supports a Democrat for the NH House).

While I am willing…barely…to suggest that in a predominantly Republican town of 28,000 (roughly), that not one of those Republicans sent a letter to the Editor of the local fish-wrapper, the odds seem a bit high.

The icing on the cake? The ‘editors’ comments on the same page, suggest that they receive all kinds of letters but that they do not want to publish any that attack candidates. They are looking for positive letters. This, in conjunction with the published content, is meant to imply that they got letters from Republicans, they were just too mean spirited to put in the paper.

But how does a biased left wing editor even know what that might be? She doesn’t.

To New Hampshire Democrat Aaron Gill – About That ‘Free From Out Of State Influence’ Thing…

This makes an excellent followup to what Skip just wrote about the DLCC endorsing a local New Hampshire Democrat.

Speaking about New Hampshire legislators that same Democrat candidate, Aaron Gill (Hillsborough 39) writes

We expect their personal conduct to reflect the character of New Hampshire citizens, that the work of the people will be conducted openly, fairly, and consistently, and that our neighbors in Concord will make independent decisions.

Most importantly, we expect members of the House to represent us free from the constraints of pledges, free from rigid ideology, and free from the goals of out-of-state interests.

This is a direct quote from Aaron’s Act Blue donations page. (I’m not linking to it, but I cached it)

What does it say (out of the gate) about the conduct and character of a candidate who is only collecting donations to his campaign through a third party aggregater, based outside New Hampshire?

Romney Ahead in NH?

Another Poll, another result.  This one, from American Research Group, (Hill Blog) shows Romney up in New Hampshire 50-46. Democrats Screw Most Vulnerable Again

A question that has long ago been answered is can government lift people up?   The answer is no.  It can only hold them down.  When it holds them all down the Liberals call this equality and history has yet to provide one example where the kind of planned economy Democrats favor ever did any better … Read more

Good Call, Maggie – Higher Electric Rates for NH

Maggie -The Red- Hassan

From inception, Maggie “The Red” Hassan has been a strong proponent of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), the “Cap and Trade” program that New Hampshire participates in with other northeastern states.  She was instrumental in its 2008 passing and continues to advocate strongly for this nonsensical government swindle.

Maggie -The Red- Hassan

On her campaign website, Maggie declares that RGGI is “good for the economy and the environment” and that it can “help our families and businesses save money on their energy costs“.

Aside from the fact that the RGGI revenue stream has been a severe disappointment (which should only disappoint the beneficiaries of it : enviro-tyrants, the Green industry, and big-government types looking to fill deficits), PSNH recently made a statement that effectively nullifies the argument that RGGI will reduce rates for consumers and businesses.

Ask Maggie Hassan: What Pledge Did You Take?

Did Maggie Hassan Take the Pledge?Maggie “Louisville Slugger” Hassan says she took The Pledge.  What she means (at least for us to believe) is that she took the anti-tax pledge.  The one where Democrats lie to voters about promising to veto any sales or income tax that reaches them.  Lie or not I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what she means.

CNHT, New Hampshire’s traditional keeper of ‘The No Tax Pledge’ has no record of Hassan submitting a signed Pledge to veto a broad based tax.

American’s for Tax Reform, similarly aligned with CNHT, also does not list Maggie Hassan as someone who has taken the no tax pledge.

So what pledge did Maggie Hassan take?

Pelham NH To Consider Ban on Driving?

car-accident -Should Pelham NH ban automobiles? After years of watching citizens and tourists of all ages fail to properly operate motor vehicles–resulting in  millions of dollars in property damage, injury, and death, Pelham New Hampshire has opened a discussion about whether or not to ban driving in their town.

“Some of these accidents have scarred people for life, others have died,” said Kneejerk Reaction. “We just can’t let this continue.”

OK.  I’m kidding.  Sort of.  Pelham is having a conversation about whether or not to ban fireworks (as predicted) after an incident this past summer in which several people were injured, and some of them were, to quote the article, scarred for life.  While we wish the best for those affected, banning behaviors based on one incident like this is not wise.

Hey I slipped on a wet floor.  That’s it.  No more mopping!

Ask A New Hampshire Democrat: About The Hostage Situation

There are those among us who are concerned that New Hampshire sends more federal tax dollars out of the state than it gets back.  The same people, typically Democrats and Moderate Republicans, argue for more Federal meddling in state affairs.  The same people who also complain about “out of state influence” in local elections.

If you send more money to DC so you can then act the hero when we get it back, complete with strings attached, other sources of out of state money will find those people and try to keep them in office so that central planners can milk all 50 teats for as much as possible and then sit in on the “hostage negotiations” when you want or need some of it back.

But wouldn’t this make more sense?

Republican Leaders Blast Democrat Income Tax Plan

Hey, the economy stinks, New Hampshire is doing better than most but the Obama economy is still grabbing at our legs, so what do you do if you are a New Hampshire Democrat?  Propose an Income tax! (To fund Charter schools!?  Collusion between the Democrats and the State Education board perhaps?)

Ask Carol Shea-Porter About Tapping Into Wireless Left-Wing Hypocrisy

Warrant-less wiretaps under Obama up 361%Ask Carol Shea-Porter, well–ask any New Hampshire Democrat actually, about warrant-less wire taps.  Remember those?  The Democrats got all wound up about them under a previous president, but lets be honest; it was not because they really gave a damn about your rights or your privacy.

They got wound up because they viewed it as a political opportunity.  They felt that they could win votes and seats (and political power) by bashing George Bush and Republicans on that particular issue if they talked about it enough.

What’s that?  You don’t believe me when I tell you Democrats didn’t really care?  You don’t think it was just about politics and power?  Well why haven’t we heard a word out of them about this issue since Obama came to office?

Or didn’t you know?  According to the ACLUmore people were subjected to pen register and trap and trace surveillance in the past two years than in the entire previous decade.

NH AG to Challenge Judge Lewis Decision On Domicile

I confess I am surprised.  The New Hampshire Attorney General will appeal the decision earlier this week,  that would have suspended the new voter registration requirements for Domicile to vote in New Hampshire.

One quick note: The articel suggests that the ruling had no affect on the Voter ID law, but I would take issue with that.  On paper the ID law is not affected, but if domicile does not matter, then Voter ID does not do everything it is intended to do.  The point of Voter ID is to ensure that the person voting is the person they claim to be; a legal, eligible voter, and state resident of the precinct in which they are voting.  If it makes no difference where you are from, then all the ID law does is affirm that the out of state voter stealing New Hampshire votes is who they say they are.  I have called it a blow to Voter ID law because I believe it is.  And I’m not alone.

To quote Secretary of State Bill Gardner, who apparently supports the Domicile law as passed…

“You can be a resident of many places but with domicile, you are establishing one unique place as your home to the exclusion of all others,” Gardner said. “If you establish domicile here, it means something, it means you have certain rights and responsibilities.”

Is NH Superior Court Justice John Lewis’ Wife Named Cindy? (Updated and bumped)

[Update: Yes, Virgina, Democrat donor Cindy Lewis, IS Judge Lewis’ wife.  I wonder what other left wing connections we will find if we keep looking?]

Judge John ‘The Fixer” Lewis threw the State constitution under the bus when he announced Monday that, ‘Hell yeah out of state students with no plans to remain in New Hampshire can and should vote here…even on amendments to the New Hampshire State Constitution.

Nothing quite like a judge who is probably sworn to protect it, doing their part to make sure anyone from anywhere gets to vote on what goes in it.

In the interest of public disclosure, seeing as this particular judge from Durham, very promptly decided the matter in the favor of left leaning advocacy groups representing a traditionally Democrat voting block, wishing to exert outside influence on local elections, I went looking for some campaign donation history on the Lewis family.

If Cindy Lewis of Durham NH is Judge Lewis’ wife, well we’ve got something to talk about.

Ask A New Hampshire Democrat About Taxing The Rich

Ask a New Hampshire Democrat about taxing the richThe distance between left wing rhetoric and reality is wide, particularly on the issue of taxing the rich.  This classic bit of class war rhetoric is used to deflect any deeper inspection of the problem, and the flaws in the Democrat’s solution.  And the flaws are huge.  Immense.  Enormous.  Disqualifying in fact.  So ask a New Hampshire Democrat about taxing the rich.

Remembering Democrat Rule – “Look To The Sky…”

Marjorie Smith NH Democrat
“Look to the sky when estimating revenue – we need the money.”

“Look to the sky when you do revenue estimates because we need the money.”

-Marjorie Smith (D- Durham) Chair House Finance Committee 2007

One month after the supposed start of the ‘Great Recession™’ and just a few months after New Hampshire Democrats historic spending spree, a partisan vote of the General Court’s Joint Facilities Committee increased pay and benefits for 145 members of the legislative staff.  The hike added almost a million dollars on the backs of taxpayers at the beginning of an economic downturn.  More spending without concern for how we’d pay for it.  A trend New Hampshire Democrats would continue into the next session.  An attitude Marjorie Smith (D- Durham), the chair of the House finance committee, would frame with the words “Look to they sky when you do revenue because we need the money.”

Hang on a moment while I add a line to my check register that says I made an extra million dollars this year.  Oh look, time to go shopping!  Shall we proceed?

Seeing The Global Warming Forest For the Trees

Fall Foliage In Fraconia NH
This Years Fall Foliage Should Be Spectacular!

I like to pick on Senator Jeanne Shaheen because she is a left-wing hack, particularly when it comes to Global War-ming. Today’s installment takes us back to her 2008 Senate race during which she claimed, and I quote…(long since scrubbed from her Senate campaign site…)

REVERSE GLOBAL WARMING
Reversing global warming is an economic, environmental and health imperative for New Hampshire. If we don’t act to reverse global warming, New Hampshire’s snow season is projected to shrink by almost 50 percent by mid-century, severely impacting our skiing and snowmobile industries. Increasing temperatures also will negatively impact fall foliage tourism, the hunting and fishing industries, and maple sugar production

Since Greene Shaheen spoke these prognostications, we have had years with record snowfalls, years with record maple syrup production, and as this year comes to a close–one that has already been called one of the hottest years in US history–the NH Tourism industry has some frightening news for us.
