“Eversource balks at state law ordering it to buy wood power”

“The battle over biomass is far from over. Eversource now says it will not purchase power from the state’s wood-burning power plants despite a state law requiring such purchases, unless it is ordered to do so by the Public Utilities Commission. The decision by the state’s largest utility, revealed in a Dec. 4 filing with the PUC, … Read more

Once again, Republicans refuse to stand up for…..Republicans

You can be sure that if this was on the other foot, that it was a Republican that had won with “uncertain” residency credentials, NH Dem Party Chair would be threatening to bomb the Hague NH State Senate chambers. But once again, we see limpness of elected Republican spines in the face of confrontation (reformatted, emphasis mine):

There’s no chance Republican senators will challenge the credentials of newly elected Democrat Jon Morgan, according to Sen. Chuck Morse, R-Salem, who will serve as Republican minority leader when the Senate reconvenes for the new year. As far as Republicans are concerned, the matter was settled when Morgan’s opponent, Republican incumbent Bill Gannon of Sandown, withdrew his complaint to the Ballot Law Commission just before its Monday meeting, Morse said. Gannon’s challenge, based on constitutional residency requirements, conjured memories among some longtime political observers of a case involving Gov. Sununu — not the incumbent, but his father, Gov. John H. Sununu, who served from 1983 to 1989.

I really don’t care about the Papa Smurf historical anecdote except for one thing he has common with Trump: he fights.  Chuck Morse comes out looking like a beta male in this.

Jeb Bradley Needs to Look in the Mirror

State Senator Jeb Bradley’s take on the midterms: “Governor Sununu had no coattails and didn’t campaign with House and Senate members. He is going to pay a price for that certainly,” Bradley said. “He won, but Sununu under-performed; there’s no question about it. We did fine with in-state fundraising but we’re going to have to … Read more

Argument: A Small Increase in [BLANK] Could Employ 1000 “Workers”

The veto override of SB365, the Biomass bailout Bill, was a lesson in the mechanics of progressive thinking. The idea was to make everyone else pay more for electricity to save some jobs. One-thousand jobs. If that’s acceptable what’s to stop the government from using that excuse for any other occupation? With a small increase in the … Read more

Whaddya mean, the Senate is going to pursue a Dem agenda? Jeb Bradley’s been doing it for them for years

We’re going to be amplifying what Steve all but said over the next two years because once again, Republicans can’t seem to get out of their own way even when they’re winning.  This from the UL tells part of the story:

NH Senate flips, Democrats to pursue new agenda

Progressive topics like paid family and medical leave, a minimum wage hike and legalizing recreational marijuana will get a new lease on life with Democrats taking control of the state Senate for the first time in a decade….“They voted for paid family and medical leave, access to affordable health care, resources to combat the opioid crisis, and to continue supporting our local public schools. Congratulations to the Senators-elect, welcome to the Senate, and thank you for answering the call to serve your district.”

And then Jeb Bradley decided to open his yap, never understanding that he’s part and BIG parcel of the problem the NH GOP faces:

Sorry NH Women but some Republican Men say ‘F**K Your Feelings’

reaganbradley
Senators John Reagan and Jeb Bradley decided Granite State women don’t actually matter.

Last week Republican MEN decided to pass House Bill 1319 (HB 1319) aka the Gender Identity bill in order to allow biological men who ‘feel’ like women to gain access to women-only sex-segregated spaces. Apparently, the feelings of these biological men are far more important than the women whose spaces they will be allowed to occupy.

Of course, women have been using women-only spaces like bathrooms with trans women for years without a problem but an out-of-state multi-millionaire wanted to use Republicans as an experiment to see how many moron Republicans it takes to push legislation that infringes upon Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and women’s rights.

Where Does Jeb Bradley Stand on The Minimum Wage?

minimum wage cartoon payne

The New Hampshire Democrat Party is wondering where Republican State Senator (and likely candidate for higher office) Jeb Bradley stands on the minimum wage?  I confess, so do I.

Does State Senator Bradley embrace the left’s obsessive desire to depress employment among teens and minorities by using legislative force to define the value of labor or is he more inclined to let the person whose labor it is come to an agreement with an employer over the real value of their time and skill-set with regard to the position in which they are to be retained?

The New Hampshire Democrat position is that modern day Granite State employees and employers are simply too stupid or corrupt to be permitted to define these terms without government interference.  Is that Senator Bradley’s position as well?

Why Would NH State Senator Jeb Bradley Want to Harpoon the Nano-Brewery Bill?

Word has it that a backroom deal has been ‘crafted’ to harpoon the nano-brewery bill. I say ‘backroom’ and ‘crafted’ because a recent executive committee session for HB253 did not attract a single lobbyist.  The New Hampshire beer cartel didn’t send any hired guns to pimp their interests.  No one from the liquor commission bothered to show … Read more

SB 0120 – Let’s name the names, shall we? Jeb Bradley (R), Sharon Carson (R), Bob Odell (R), Shawn Jasper (R), Gary Richardson (D)

Let me get this off my chest: I am now ashamed that GraniteGrok, Meet the New Press (our former radio show), and I, did all we could to help Jeb Bradley, the prime sponsor of this Act, beat “Bathroom Bud” Martin in that special election that seems so long ago.  I was told he was a moderate Congressman – boardering on “squish”; I heard it but thought “well, that was ‘before my active time” and he’s sounding a whole lot more conservative now” and beat the drum.  Stupid me – he’s drifted Leftward ever since that first year.  And no, not happy with the results of the NH Senate last session either.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

One of my pet peeves lately is why is it that normal people can read the plain language of the Constitution and can understand it literally as written – and yet lawyers and politicians cannot?  How simple are the words “… no law….abridging the freedom of speech” – what is there to not understand? Five single syllable words, one with two, and one with three; this is elementary school level English.  Yes, while the Constitution is supposed to be binding on the US Congress, it is the Law of the Land, the foundational philosophy of our Constitutional Republic. The ordinary person who is NOT a lawyer keeps thinking “isn’t it about time to get rid of the lawyers, get rid of the prancing around with “case law” and nuances and penumbras that seem to emanate from black robed creatures when looking upon these words – and just read the words as written?

Maggie Hassan – Partisan Voting 98% of the Time

Tom Cronin with Ovide for Governor sent out a press release today questioning this statement by Democrat Maggie Hassan.

“One of the things I really worked on in the State Senate was making sure that when we develop policy; everybody comes to the table to do it. … I’ve always found it really important that I can hear different views at the debate in front of me because that informs really good policy making.”

Translation: Maggie can see your lips moving but she is still going to vote like a radical left wing tax and spend New Hampshire Democrat.

Don’t believe me? Just ask some folks who served in the State Senate with her.

Another Amended Filing in CD-1

Is it absurd to think that a guy who earned almost $400,000.00 last year, and probably something similar in preceding years, would have no additional income to declare to the Federal election Commission.  No savings accounts, no IRA’s no investments of any kind?

How about a guy who was also a lobbyist at least somewhat familiar with the election laws about money in politics?

Well don’t act surprised because NH-01 candidate Rich Ashooh will have to amend his FEC filing.  It appears he failed to list all his "secret" bank accounts on his original filing.  In fact, the filing fails to list any accounts, no investments, funds, savings, nothing–just his salary income, his mortgage, and the boards and committees on which he sits.  Rich Ashooh has no savings or investments? Where’s the false outrage?
