And Dems want to turn this behavior into a NH Value?

Childhood – expected dependency (that’s what kids are: dependent on their parents).

Adulthood? Not so much. But Barack’s campaign site thinks so.  Are we becoming a nation of dependent “children”?  Are we all that unwilling to put aside childish mannerisms (“Mommy, can I have a cookie?  Daddy, can I have a ten?”) and no longer are willing to act like adults?  Should adults put on a mantle of expecting everything to be given to them?

Sandra Fluke was the first thing that shot through my mind as I read this note (as in “hey Dad, tuition is not the only thing that is due at the end of the week – can that be my 32 Birthday present?”). Isn’t her insistence of demanding someone else paying for her responsibility the embodiment of the perpetual dependent child mentality?  At least the letter writer put the burden on her family; Sandra Fluke has determined that it is fine and proper for Government to be “her parent”; in that most intimate human acts, her claim to fame is to demand that Government provide for her”reproductive activities health”.

I will say this – I would never have ever thought of going “Yo, Dad?  You know what I need $18 grand for”?  Just the THOUGHT of even having the thought to ask is shameful.  Yes, shameful.

Yet, this is a Democrat Value – after all, Sandra Fluke spoke at one of Obama’s campaign rallies.  Given that it seems that the Democrat Party is fullbent “forward” on any policy that changes the relationship of and in a traditional family (how else would they EVER get Government to be “the parent”?

As offensive as it might seem to feminists and Bigger Government Progressives who believe that the Purpose and Role of Government is to provide for all of our needs in a libertine behavior world, when you strip out all of the yammering, this note writer’s message gets stripped down to telling Mommy “how mean it is that some faceless bureaucrat isn’t going to go grab some money from a taxpayer, run to the pharmacy, purchase her contraceptives, and deliver them straight away”. Oh, to be sure, there is gonna be some Progressive out there screaming “How dare you deny us, you discriminator!”.

Put a sock in it as I’m not interested in your whining any more.

How to start a Fight – Part 7

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn’t run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, making beer.. Always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. … Read more

Here’s a great example of what’s causing Republican angst lately – and a fact staring down the NH Dems

Tim has a great chart about political registration – while it is true that it is not all roses blooming for the Republicans, it looks downright nasty for the Democrats.  And using that as the foundation, look at this from (yes, again) The Corner:

Obama Three Points Ahead

Among likely voters, President Obama is at 50 percent and Mitt Romney at 47 percent in a new CNN poll. The partisan breakdown is 37 percent Democrat, 34 percent independent, and 29 percent Republican.

This is a perfect example of front loading Democrat participation using a turnout model that just doesn’t exist in the real world.  Really, a model that has only 29% Republican?  I realize that there is a lot of discussion going on about what the right mix should be – and I will admit that the independent number looks right.  The Democrat has a mix that is 8 points higher than the Republicans?  Really?

Add this in from Breitbart (emphasis mine):

Perfect timing, NH Rep David Campbell – you prove my point

I just put up this post up and it ends like this:

Our single reason why is this: he [Obama]is the single worst threat to TEA Party ideals: Free Markets (he wants Government directed markets), Constitutionally bound and limited Government, and fiscal responsibility in that Government.  These are complete opposite of the current crop of Democrat Socialists.

And that is why they fear us.

That the NH Dems are calling the TEA Party, Free Staters and 9/12ers extreme is simple: we represent and “cling” to the values and the words in the Constitution.  We are their worst nightmare as we are the Gate that stops the country’s march to complete Progressivism.  And then this came floating in:

Apparently [Democrat NH State Representative] David Campbell thinks we are a bunch of nut jobs in the NH house……The conservative “Bat-signal” is requested gentlemen.

While responding to a “Grok-signal” might be more appropriate (heh!),  we stand by our pledge: “… fly to the aid of rock-ribbed freedom loving and liberty seeking / leaning folk anywhere!…”.  So, I went and left these bon mots for Rep Dave – and an offer:

Extreme?  Really The First remark to be made is “Yo, Dave”?  Are you forgetting that in 2010, the voters (er, that would be ALL NH voters) finally had enough of the Democrat agenda and threw the majority of your butts out of the House and most of your butts out of the NH Senate, and completely out of the Executive Council.

So, wanna keep yakking about who was judged to be “extreme”?

How to start a Fight – Part 6

My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table. I asked her, “Do you know him?” “Yes”, she sighed, “He’s my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after … Read more

One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift… The next year, I didn’t buy her a gift. When she asked me why, I replied, “Well, you still haven’t used the gift I bought you last year!” And that’s how the fight started…..

Media: Democrat Operatives – with a byline

“Democrat Operatives with a byline” courtesy of Instapundit        (Cartoon H/T: TownHall) I pine for the day that the MSM (MainStream Media) relentlessly once again pursues the President and his Administration on story after story, just as the Founders recognized  the power of the Press and affirmed it, just as they did under President Bush. My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary. She said, “I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds.” I bought her a bathroom scale. And then the fight started……

How to start a Fight – Part 1

I rear-ended a car this morning…the start of a REALLY bad day! The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!! He looked up at me and said ‘I am NOT Happy!’ So I said, ‘Well, which one ARE you then?’ That’s how the fight started.

How to start a Fight – Part 2

My wife was standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She was not happy with what she saw and said to me, “I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.’ I replied, “Your eyesight’s darn near perfect.” And then the fight started……..

Data Point: Obama Plan – taxes going up for two million additional “victims”

After all, Democrats view everyone (almost) as a victim, right? And horrors – it is all on the Dems that have created this new victim gaggle!  And they state that 30 million folks will NOT be covered (er, wasn’t that the whole point of this boondoggle?) and 6 million (2 million more than planned – “unexpectedly!”) are going to have empty their wallets on the alter of OCare.

The Obama 2012 folks are NOT going to like this next piece of news:  not only are premiums not going down as President Obama promised (yet another Obama Promise hitting its expiration date) but according to the neutral Congressional Budget Office, with its latest scoring, has determined that Individual Mandate TAX is going to raise  taxes on folks making less than $200K/year (yet another Obama promise expired) as Obamacare is rolled out.  Those without healthcare will fall into this ObamaTax if they fall into the following:

  • No healthcare insurance for > 3 months
  • Household income from 138% – 400% of the Poverty Level
  • Household income at => 400% of the Poverty Level

Words of Wisdom – even for Jan Schmidt

Advice from a 90 year old wise guy.  Read them – and yes, very wise advice.  This one is my favorite: 41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have, not what you think you need. This one is great advice for all – but certainly for a certain Progressive over at … Read more

Once again, a Progressive confirms: if you aren’t spending it the way we think you should, we’ll tax it away from you

And then we wonder why the heck the US is dropping in the Economic Freedom rankings (down to 18th – we used to be in the top five a short few years ago)?  Could this attitude be one reason?  Hillary took off the mask and went past “tax and spend”.  Taking a page out of Moochella’s playbook (“sure – eat!  But only what we want you to eat”), Hillary makes it rather clear when talking earlier this week at her husband’s Clinton Global Initiative – translation: “You get to keep only what we think you should have – because you aren’t spending it the way we want!” (a take off on “you didn’t build it”):

And one of the issues that I have been preaching about around the world is collecting taxes in an equitable manner, especially from the elites in every country. (Laughter.) You know I’m out of American politics, but – (applause) – it is a fact that around the world, the elites of every country are making money. There are rich people everywhere. And yet they do not contribute to the growth of their own countries. They don’t invest in public schools, in public hospitals, in other kinds of development internally. And so it means for leaders telling powerful people things they don’t want to hear. It means being transparent about budgets and revenues and bringing corruption to light. And when that happens, we shouldn’t punish countries for uncovering corruption. We should reward them for doing so. And it means putting in place regulations designed to attract and protect investment.

Where do I start?  There is certainly a move afoot to “harmonize” taxes all over the globe – countries with high taxes have been trying to force those with lower ones to raise them so as not to be at a disadvantage (sorta like on a union job when the “eager beaver” gets shut down for being too quick and good, thereby making all the others look bad).  So if someone “of means” wishes to protect his assets from greedy politicians all too willing to spend other peoples’ money, there is no safe harbor.

But Hillary shows her Progressive roots – unless your money is spent on what SHE thinks is important, she is advocating taking it away by shaming others to do her dirty work (i.e., as in “don’t worry, they are like troublesome children that cannot share.  Like kindergarten children, we who are better will teach them that you can take it without feeling guilty to share”).  After all, those rich folks are screwing everyone else ought of what they need!
