Last weekend, the 603 Alliance held the first of three Candidate Training Sessions. Of the first forty participants, eighteen of them were women, each of whom is energized and ready to go to work for New Hampshire in 2021.

603 Alliance – GrokInterviews at the 603 Alliance “Thank YOU” event: Diane Bitter
At the 603 Alliance “Thank YOU!” event last night in Manchester, I was asked to go around and do a few quick interviews of both 603 Board members, those that assisted during their candidate events, and some candidates as well. Diane has been a stalwart fixture in the Republican, conservative, and Liberty worlds here in NH … Read more
NH .223 Day of Resistance – NH State Rep Dan Dumaine and Diane Bitter
Continuing on the ‘Grok coverage of yesterday’s NH .223 Day of Resistance, here are two more of the speakers. I briefly had the chance to meet NH State Rep. Dan Dumaine before the event started (but ever so briefly) and then, since he spoke before I did, found out he “borrowed” some of Joe Biden … Read more
Endorsement – Diane Bitter for NH GOP Secretary
I have known Diane for a number of years now and was quite some time before I even knew that she was involved in Republican Party activities. At that time, she was not an “out front” person – but she was the person “that made things and events work”. If someone asked her to carry … Read more
GrokTV Event: AFPF Defending the American Dream – NH GOP edition (sorta)
Travel 500 miles and what do you get? NH folks who are willing to talk with you. Earlier, it was Bill O’Brien, Speaker of the NH House that attended a couple of the workshops that the Americans for Prosperity Foundation had at its Defending the American Dream Summit 2012. This time, it was two activists, Diane Bitter and Alan Glassman who were on the hot seat and helping me out was fellow Grokster Don Ewing.
Funny thing; both Don and I are Members of the NH GOP State Committee yet ended up grilling Diane (Rye Republican Chair, an NH GOP area Vice-Chair, and Assistant Secretary, and is a much beloved and respected activist in the TEA Party / 9-12 Project / Liberty & Freedom movement) and Alan (Barnstead-Alton Republican Committee, Belknap County Republican Committee, and also an NH GOP Area Vice-Chair) on a number of topics including one that was prescient for what came up at this week’s Belknap County Republican meeting – NH GOP Leadership unwilling to maintain Party discipline when elected Republicans “stain the brand”.

GrokTV Event – Seacoast Republican Women Congressional Forum – Opening Remarks
Last night, the ‘Grok had been invited to cover the Congressional Forum sponsored by the Seacoast Republican Women – a well respected non-partisan (with respect to the Republican Party events) organization whose events are usually open and well attended as their execution in having an event is normally flawless. The event, held at the most beautiful Elks Lodge I have ever been in (on an inlet in Portsmouth, NH), had six four Candidate attendees:
NH First Congressional District – Rick Parent, Vern Clough
NH Second Congressional District – Will Dean, Dennis Lamare
There should have been two more:
- Incumbent Congressman Frank Guinta (the guy who decided to stiff Diane Bitter at the last moment and be a “no show”)
- Incumbent Congressman Charlie Bass – who declared “I am not coming; it would be a waste of my time”
The videos of the Opening Ceremonies and Candidate Opening Remarks after the jump. There were six questions asked of the Candidates – they will be in subsequent posts.
So, Congressman Frank Guinta dissing one of NH’s most beloved activists – Diane Bitter?
Title 2: This is not what Frank should be doing to impress his former core supporters for his upcoming US Senate run…
Yeah, really! Diane Bitter (Rye Republican Town Chair, NH GOP Area-Vice Chair, and NH Assistant Secretary, and MUCH more importantly, Conservative and TEA Party activist) reached out to Frank and his campaign LAST MARCH about attending this event (yes, yet another group she is involved with):
The Seacoast Republican Women is a well respected group all over the state on the Right side of the aisle. Diane is also well connected here in NH – and she is very experienced on putting on both large and small events all over the state. This is not a snafu on her part as from MY previous experience with her (and anyone that has worked with her can vouchsafe this), she does not leave important details to the last moment such as NOT giving a sitting Congressman a LONG lead on an event. She knows that to get a VIP, you ask early and stay on it. She did – again, the request went out in MARCH – 5 months ago. She was told soon after “No problem!”. Oh Wait!…
Hmm, seems like Kyle Stucker of Exeter Patch is minced at the ‘Grok (or something)
He wrote this post post about being denied the ability to record James’s speech:
Patch was almost kept from recording any of O’Keefe’s remarks Sunday. Partway through O’Keefe’s speech, Rye Republican Town Chairwoman Diane Bitter told Hampton-North Hampton Patch that O’Keefe’s speech could not be recorded.
She said conservative website Granite Grok would have video posted after the event. Patch stopped filming partway through the speech to ask Bitter for clarification, as O’Keefe’s speech was given before multiple media outlets and in front of a packed event to which Patch was invited.
Bitter replied that she normally doesn’t allow cameras to roll at a “private event” because her committee “want[s guests] to be able to say what they want” during private conversations without being recorded.
That would be correct – we are and I did here (YouTube is still processing the video as I type; it should go live soon). For the record, we had been asked weeks ago if we would do this for the Rye Republican event and I accepted. Frankly, given the 2 hour drive and the time for equipment set up and scurrying to actually pull off the event technically, I thank Diane for allowing us exclusive recording of the event.
GrokTV Event: Live blogging at the Rye Republican Town Committee
There’s GOT to be a conservative TEA Party leaning person showing up for RRTC (Diane Bitter, Chair (and new NH GOP Assistant Secretary) at this event, so GraniteGrok is here. We were asked if we could provide live stream and record the event by ‘Grok friend Diane, so we are attempting to oblige. Unfortunately, the … Read more
Indeed: “…the TEA Party lives on in grassroots activists determined to see change.” Final thoughts on yesterday’s NH GOP Annual meeting
Indeed, indeed. Those involved in the TEA Party movement are still around. They were lambasted three years ago for being “amateurs”, thinking that holding clever signs would change things, that they were too white, too middle class, leaderless, and if the media and Democrats were to be believed, would soon go home to their living rooms and resume a more normal life of simply grumbling at their TV sets and wringing their hands. H/T to Instapundit for this:
AN A.P. REPORT ON THE STATE OF THE TEA PARTY: Dead it’s not — the tea party lives on in grassroots activists determined to see change. “Dead the tea party is not. Changed? Perhaps. But still very much alive, in the back room of a Jim’s Restaurant in San Antonio and many other places across the land. . . . Perhaps nowhere is the persistent power of the tea party more at work today than at the local and state level, where many grassroots activists have decided to shift the focus of their efforts. More tea party-backed candidates are running for county and state Republican leadership positions, with the aim of having a bigger say in the party’s agenda and direction.”
All is proceeding as I have foreseen.
And I see no end to it soon. Sure, there will be the rallies going forward, as Steve points out for one today in Manchester, NH and as I’ve posted here for next Saturday in Dover (sponsored by the Granite State Patriot Liberty PAC). But change, REAL change comes only after real hard works over a longish amount of time. In Glen’s second link, he outlines what the Utah TEA Party was doing in participating in personal democracy – moving the Utah Republican Party back to its roots of not just lip-serving for smaller government but actually making it happen. They did it rather quickly – but as I just told another activist concerning a different issue on the phone, be prepared for change to come slowly.
GraniteGrok Endorsement: At the NH GOP Annual Meeting, Please vote for Diane Bitter for Assistant Secretary
The annual meeting of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee (NH GOP) is this coming Saturday. During that time, official NH State Committee Party Members will be voting on a number of positions, and Diane Bitter is running to fill the position of Assistant Secretary. We at GraniteGrok have been blessed to have now known … Read more
GrokTV Special Interview: Diane Bitter running for NH GOP Assistant Secretary (Question 4)
During my interview with Diane at Liberty Harbor Academy, I had a good time. However, like all good times, they come to an end. The last question for Diane Bitter that I asked was this: Best reason to vote for Diane over someone else? Previous questions: Question 1, Question 2, Question 3, and Question 4.
GrokTV Special Interview: Diane Bitter running for NH GOP Assistant Secretary (Question 4)
One has to wonder why some of these folks wish to serve in a political party structure? Well, given what Diane brings to the table, she does have history (short, but rich) of being active in Republican politics. A true grassrooter, she makes things happen – listen: Question 1, Question 2 and Question 3.
GrokTV Special Interview: Diane Bitter running for NH GOP Assistant Secretary (Question 3)
Now that our technical problems are behind us (fingers crossed, knock on wood!), let’s continue with our interviews that we did last week. Diane Bitter is running to be the next NH GOP Assistant Secretary because she sees a lacking in the structure – a lack of communication to the membership of the NH GOP. … Read more
GrokTV Special Interview: Diane Bitter running for NH GOP Assistant Secretary (Question 2)
In continuing the ‘Grok tradition of citizen journalism in covering events, issues, and people that the MSM won’t (or can’t, but mostly won’t), Diane Bitter good naturedly answered Question #2 from your’s truly (which was asked with a puzzled look on my face): How long have you been on the NH GOP ballot? Seems like … Read more
GrokTV Special Interview: Diane Bitter running for NH GOP Assistant Secretary (Question 1)
Last week I also had the chance to interview Diane Bitter as she is now seeking to be the next Assistant Secretary of the NH GOP (her opponent is Jeff Newman). Diane is also the Rye Town Republican Committee Chair as well as an Area Vice-Chair. This video is of Question 1: Why are you … Read more
GrokTV Special Interview: NH Prez Debate – the Moderators deliberately tried baiting the Republicans
Speaking of journalists…..
I also did an interview with Jerry Delemus of the Granite State Patriot Liberty PAC and Diane Bitter (Republican activist and co-founder of the Seacoast Freedom Network). The full interview is on the bottom, but Jerry, during the interview, raised my eyebrows a bit.
Conservatives often believe that journalists are often biased away from them and and for liberal issues. After looking at the questions asked, I beleive that most Conservatives would have had a different ordering and emphasis. Add to that, “Conflict TV is good TV”, goes the saying.
Well, Jerry and Diane, during the interview, told the tale that Josh McElveen of WMUR and John King of CNN had actively conspired to create conflict (where there may not have been any to begin with) and were congratulating themselves for almost pulling it off:
Pulling it off? I had brought up the subject, with Amy, that the MSM is actively trying to influence the Republican race, to nudge the electorate towards one or more (more moderate) Rs.
Well, it seems quite obvious that these two chuckleheads have proved my point as in “let’s make the Republicans look petty, argumentative, and start a food fight”. Thus, instead of merely reporting the news, they were actively trying to make the news, to start the skewing of public opinion.
You’d think that CNN might have figured out that people don’t like this at all (given their loss of audience over the last few years, especially compared to Fox). WMUR is a bit protected from this, being the only commercial TV station in the State. With this brand of shennanigans, it is clear that the media is not the objective folks they try to portray.
Good going, Josh and John! You’re trying hard for that skew of 15 points, aren’t you boys?
