Notable Quote – On the Left, It Is Always about the Revenge

Emhasis mine: Since the French Revolution, leftwing politics, as distinct from the liberal sort, have been essentially about revenge, including in Great Britain with the founding of the Labour Party in 1900, an event recently characterized by the Daily Telegraph as an act of vengeance. Then, leftist vengeance meant class vengeance. While it remains so … Read more

Notable Quote: Trump is merely the Symptom – it is the Elites that are the Disease

Suddenly, to a lot of voters, those postwar institutional arrangements stopped looking so good. But, of course, the beneficiaries showed no sign of giving them up. This has led to a lot of political discord, and a lot of culture war, since in America class warfare is usually disguised as cultural warfare. But underneath the … Read more

The Left and the Rise of Marxism

Is it a case of ordained fate we cannot escape or is it that We the People are too dense to learn from our own mistakes? Paging through humanity’s history, time, and again we find numerous instances of costly mistakes where people ignore facts and reason by entrusting their lives to a “savior.”

The Shroud of Socialism

The shroud of socialism won’t be lifted with Bernie’s defeat

Democrats and Republicans seem to agree on one thing:  Bernie Sanders cannot defeat President Trump in the general election.  While his raucous crowds and early campaign victories suggest widespread support, a recent Gallup poll confirms that 53 percent of Americans surveyed would not vote for a socialist presidential candidate.

Tobacco Tax Increase: The Progressives Racism And Class Warfare?

“Every man who repeats the dogma of Mill that one country is not fit to rule another country must admit that one class is not fit to rule another class.” ? B.R. Ambedkar

photos-of-extinguished-cigarette - Tobacco taxes in danger thanks to ObamacareI read Steve’s entry this morning on the tobacco tax increase the house progressives just passed. HB 659-FN-A   passed 193 to 167 largely right along party lines, bringing along the usual recognizable (and some Freshman) RINO’s. I think anybody that follows house voting behavior is not at all surprised or intrigued because those RINO’s sipping the progressive Kool-Aid ascribe to the notion that somehow fewer kids will smoke as the price of a pack increases. But the fact is, kids do pay taxes. When a 13-year-old

Mitt Romney and The 57.9%

Democrats want to tax you so that they can then engage in state managed, centrally planned, charity.   Conservatives, Libertarians, and some Republicans object to this for more reasons than I can enumerate here but here is one example worth considering…

As the coercive power of the state will alone decide who is to have what, the only power worth having will be a share in the exercise of this directing power. There will be no economic or social questions that would not be political questions in the sense that their solution will depend exclusively on who wields the coercive power, on whose are the views that will prevail on all occasions.

-F. A. Hayek

Democrats want the government to decide.  And once they start, there is little that will not eventually fall under the gaze and control of the state.   And so, they feel very comfortable engaging in class warfare rhetoric to correct this problem, because taxes–to them–are the benchmark of other peoples charity (except their own, of course).   And they “do not approve,”  can not approve, of people engaging in charity the state does not control becasue most Americans give based on a set of values that Democrats do not share.

Who Actually Pays What Percentage of Federal Taxes (At least one more time)

Face Plant – So Who Do We Tax After That?

As a followup to this post on Taxing the rich, I did want to point something else out.   Even if you taxed the rich at 100% you still couldn’t pay for even one year of Obama/Democrat spending.  Not even one full year.  And that’s just for running the government, and not a penny toward the 16 trillion dollar deficit.  And yet that is their answer for dealing with the spending problem.

Seeing as the top 5% already pay 90% of all Federal taxes this begs the question, and it’s one you should feel free to ask New Hampshire Democrats as well…If there are no rich, becasue you took all their money,  and we can’t even pay one year of the budget with this one time tax of 100%, then who do you tax to pay for the rest of that year, every year after that, and the 16 trillion dollar deficit after that?

Ask them. (You could also ask them if this would mean the Democrats are shutting down government, ask them who built what, ask them how this much irresponsible spending is not a tax on the middle class–seeing as you can’t pay for any of it without taxing them…use your imagination, they have left you with so many lies there is no shortage of material to work with.)

Ask a New Hampshire Democrat…About Taxing ‘The Rich.’

I am willing to bet that almost every New Hampshire Democrat supports the national agenda on taxing corporations and “the rich.”  To paraphrase Kyle Reese from the original Terminator movie, in regard to Democrats raising taxes…  “That’s what they do.  That’s all they do.”

The real problem is, of course, spending, which Democrats deny.  “It’s not about spending,” they say, “we need the rich to pay ‘Their fair share®.'” But  all you have to do to prove they are wrong (again) is to look at what would happen if Democrats actually got those taxes they say we have to have on corporations and the wealthy.

Notable Quotes: Frederic Bastiat

Bastiat, Frederic Bastiat[There] “is this idea that mankind is merely inert matter, receiving life, organization, morality, and prosperity from the power of the state.  And even worse, it will be stated that mankind tends toward degeneration, and is stopped from this downward course only by the mysterious hand of the legislator.

-Frédéric Bastiat

For Barack ‘You Didn’t Build That’ Obama and Elizabeth Warren – and just about every Democrat…

“Life, faculties, production—in other words, individuality, liberty, property—this is man. And in spite of the cunning of artful political leaders, these three gifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.”

Let’s Play Spot The Socialist Dullard

New Hampshire has it’s share of obvious Socialist thieves.  Democrat candidate William ‘Hud’ Connery is an admitted socialist.  Folks like Catholic Socialist Peter ‘Can’t wait to get Connery on the team’ Sullivan, are a half-shade less obvious; Sullivan is an anti tax pledge guy as well and a supporter of Jackie ‘Tax and Spend us” Cilley so tax and spend or spend then tax are job one–complete with the class warfare tax the rich meme that has become a prominent feature of Democrat rhetoric everywhere you shop for flavorless-left wing political pablum–with a Marxist twist!

So I’m sure this is just a coincidence then, that.. “In 1848 Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels frankly proposed “a heavy progressive or graduated income tax” as one of the  measures by which, after the first stage of the revolution, “the proletariat will use its political supremacy to wrest, by degrees, all capital from the bourgeois, to centralize all instruments of production in the hands of the state.”  And doesn’t that just mesh so well with what I just wrote here? and tried to simplify here.

So what about the other socialist hiding in the proverbial New Hampshire bushes?   Now that we have the Outsourcer in Chief channeling Elizabeth Warren, insisting that anyone who is successful didn’t do that on their own, we have another opportunity to play ‘Spot the Socialist Dullard.’  It’s validation from on high for left wing big government pragmatists everywhere.

Well Isn’t This Rich. (Or Not, Actually.)

Has it occurred to anyone that the Democrat’s “Tax the Rich™” agenda (coming soon in “Middle Class” sizes) isn’t so much a goal of taking more from those who have more (to give it to those who have less) it is to keep people who are not connected to the government power structure–from becoming rich … Read more

About that Outsourcing…

“Nothing like being scolded by a hippie.”  —Sarah Dessen

President Barack Hussein Obama, the Outsourcer-in-Chief

Yet another campaign ad from Obummer accusing Mittens of outsourcing jobs. Fact-Check.org, as well as the other pundits have weighed in on this issue, “yet they still fiddle.” Does Fisker Automotive  come to mind?

And what about outsourcing? What is the deal with outsourcing? Does anybody ever think about the concept beyond the fact that outsourcing is done for the pursuit of lower costs and cheaper labor? We certainly need to.

Screw The “Most Vulnerable?”

Internet access - NH House bans taxing internet accessThis morning’s Union Leader reported the passage of a bill in the New Hampshire House that would ban any tax on internet access.  They also reported that it included $1.7 million in funding for the reduction of the developmentally disabled services wait list.  The vote margin was 245-80, with the majority of dissenters on the Democrat side.

If this reporting is accurate the scope of the lefts hypocrisy here might be epic.  Internet and broadband access have been used as a left wing class, warfare, dirge.  Voting to tax it is not exactly “pro less-fortunate” nor pro-more “in need of internet access.”  But to vote against funding the disabled services list again?

Shaheen Tweets – The Return of Warren Buffett’s Secretary

Senator Shaheen Tweets- Warren Buffets SecretarySenator Shaheen must be following orders, why else resurrect this left wing meme?  “Buffet pays effective tax rate of 11% Avg is 13.5% He’s paying lower rate than his own secretary.” (Just when Obama is pushing the Buffett rule again. Hmmmm.)

So here’s my problem.  When did “secretary” stop being one of those sexist, politically incorrect words we were forbidden to use?  Isn’t ‘secretary’ demeaning to women. Oh, wait, not when it makes the newest pawn in your Obamnomics Class Warfare Chess Set seem like a dowdy single mother instead of a 1%er who probably gets great bonuses and awesome Christmas presents from the Billionaire boss. (Chess set pieces delivered every four to six weeks, only 670 billion plus shipping and handling for each.)

OK, that’s not really the problem.  I want to know when Warrent Buffett’s ‘Secretary’ stopped paying 35.8%?

Warren Buffett’s Secretary Might Be a One Percenter

Has the sweet milk of Obama’s class warfare rhetoric taken another sour turn?  I’m talking about Warren Buffett’s secretary.  How could a woman who is only paid $60,000.00 per year (according to her boss) be able to afford two homes while somehow amassing enough annual wealth to put her in a tax bracket that doesn’t even exist for the top1%?

Is Warren Buffett's Secretary a One Percenter?
Is Warren Buffett's Secretary a One Percenter?

That’s the question posed in an editorial in yesterday’s Investors Business Daily: Is Buffett’s Secretary a One Percenter?

An ABC News report, for example, says she “pays a tax rate of 35.8%,” in contrast to Buffett’s 17.4%  The very top federal income tax bracket is 35%, not 35.8%, and that doesn’t kick in until a taxpayer has adjusted gross income above $379,150.

Does that mean Bosanek is among the 0.4% of taxpayers whose income hits the top federal bracket? You know, the “1%” Obama and his pals always rail about?

Good question.
