Let me repeat that title to let it sink in that in many Democrat-controlled cities, the Government-monopoly schools suck. And you can’t just blame it on the students (reformatted, emphasis mine):
The question in the title is rhetorical. We already know the answer. When political jurisdictions stop prosecuting crimes, you get more of them. When they do this because they defunded the police, you also increase other types of crime. Baltimore already had too much of both.
Emphasis mine: “Several years ago, Project Baltimore began an investigation of Baltimore’s school system. What it found was an utter disgrace.”
Kim Klacik is from Maryland, lives in Baltimore, and is a Republican woman running for Congress. As a Republican, you’d think her prospects dim (Elijah Cummings held the seat for 23 years until his recent death). But she’s not sitting on her hands. She’s taking it to the Left, and she is not taking prisoners.
Like any major city, the spread of anything highly contagious is potentially exponential. Population density makes it impossible to prevent. So, Baltimore is looking at some rough days ahead. With that in mind, the mayor has a message for the hoodlums. Stop shooting people. We need hospital beds.
In the pantheon of American cities with ‘Gun Sense’ (per the Shannon Watts, Mom’s Demand, Brady Ban, far left-gun grabbing elite), Baltimore ranks high. It should be one of the safest places on earth. Instead, it is one of the most dangerous places on earth.
If you want examples of media bias in the form of selective reporting, just look at the news – any news. So-called unbiased networks and papers ignore embarrassing stories or leave out details all the time. And not just nationally.
Mises.org reports that “according to the pro-gun-control Giffords Center, Maryland is the “fourth-strongest” in terms of gun restrictions.” At the same time, Baltimore has more than ten times the number of homicides as the US Average.
