“Everything is funny, so long as its’ happening to someone else.”—Will Rogers
LONDONDERRY The town conservation committee had their commiseration session tonight relative to target shooting in the Musquash Conservation area. The comments were little more than drama…many of which were likely exaggerated or perhaps grossly untrue. “Shooting at the feet of people on the trail?”
“If people in the media cannot decide whether they are in the business of reporting news or manufacturing propaganda, it is all the more important that the public understand that difference, and choose their news sources accordingly.” —Thomas Sowell
First, there is this story: “Rep Fred Maslack sponsored a bill to register “non-gun-owners” and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun.”
So there it is. Once again, it is taking flight around the internet as if this is recent news. But…In all reality, Maslack proposed the bill in 2001. Yep! Maslack has not been in the Vermont house for over ten years. This a great story…grabs some real traction

On 9 March, Breitbart’s AWR Hawkins reported that Former Astronaut and Congressman Giffords husband Mark Kelly, “purchased” an AR-15 and subsequently announced on his Facebook page that he was not going to keep the AR-15, which he has yet to pick up from the store.
Days after making the purchases, Kelly wrote on Facebook: I just had a background check a few days ago
“It is a good thing for a physician to have prematurely grey hair and itching piles. The first makes him appear to know more than he does, and the second gives him an expression of concern which the patient interprets as being on his behalf.” —A. Benson Cannon
On Sunday, February 3, 2013 more than eighty Granite State Pediatricians endorsed an open letter to legislatorsdemanding passage of a cornucopia of gun legislation, perpetuating a plethora of myths, mistruths and confabulations currently being presented as, “sensible gun policy.” The letter, obviously an advertisement paid for by the Pediatricians, and featured in the February 3rd edition of the New Hampshire Sunday

Not being a fan of the New Hampshire Association of Chief’s of Police, I now find myself in a peculiar position defending them…Narrowly and singly on this issue, of course. The Chiefs will hold a raffle….”31 days of Guns,” in May, drawing one winner each day.
Gun Raffles are nothing new in the Granite State. Two organizations I am the leader of have hosted such gun raffles or “Thirty days of guns,” and the raffles have shown to be lucrative fund raisers for those organizations.
“If I could have banned them all – ‘Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns’ – I would have!” —California Senator Diane Feinstein, appearing on NBC News’ 60 Minutes, February 5, 1995
When reading the above quote, which time was Senator Feinstein being sincere? When she said this in 1995? Or, when she said recently,
(This legislation) will be carefully focused on the most dangerous guns that have killed so many people over the years whileprotectingtherightsofgunowners…”
“While protecting the rights of gun owners” says Senator Feinstein. Which is it?
Yes! The Anti-gun left in America is speaking out and their talking points go something like this:

DISCLOSURE:I am the current President of the Londonderry Fish & Game Club, Inc., in addition to being a writer for Granite Grok.
Todays Edition of the Union Leader treated us to the pithy headline, Fairways Firing Ranges dont mix in Londonderry. Interestingly enough, UL Correspondent April Guilmet, never contacted me for comment or input. She did today after the story was written and posted.
Bread and Circus: A cliché aptly suited in describing the Londonderry Town Council.
Council Chariman John Farrell (not the John Farrell of Country Pond Fish & Game) granted Londonderry Country Club Owner Tom Kimball his wish for the Council to hold a council meeting at the Golf Club. The purpose of which is that the council can hear the gunfire from the Londonderry Police Range..er, the Londonderry Fish and Game Club..wait? which is it, Tom? Ah! both.
“A liar begins with making falsehood appear like truth, and ends with making truth itself appear like falsehood.”—William Shenstone
The Keene Sentinel , last Thursday, featured an editorial, positing the question, “Could an armed citizen have stopped the shooter? But they never really answer the question and instead make an argument that we should move toward more gun control.
The opening paragraph states,
Anyone who has ever aimed and discharged a firearm knows that accuracy depends on a number of things — the eye of the shooter, the weapon in use, levels of training and experience. There’s also the matter of setting. Hitting a target at a shooting range, with pulse steady and trigger squeezed, is not the same as, say, taking down a gunman in a darkened theater that’s filled with tear gas and screaming, panic-stricken movie-goers.
“Complainers change their complaints, but they never reduce the amount of time spent in complaining.” —Mason Cooley
Here we go again. Same old story. Same old lame complaints. The Monadnock Rod and Gun Club was established in 1947. This 65-year old club continues to do what it always has done: Operate shooting ranges. And, like any other Sporting Club, the amount and continuity of the sound of the shooting ambience, varies with time of season and number of events hosted at the club.In short, neighboring residents can reasonably expect to hear gunfire more during certain times of the year than other times of the year. And if they cannot live with that, then why on earth purchase a home in proximity to a shooting range?
“Don’t carry a gun. It’s nice to have them close by, but don’t carry them. You might get arrested.” —John Gotti
An Airsoft gun can be dangerous. Dangerous because if one gets hit in the eye with one of those plastic BB’s, an eye could be lost. Like the old saying goes, “It’s all fun and games until somebody puts an eye out.” So here is this kid…He brings an Airsoft Pistol to school. Clearly, a very poor choice. But, let’s face it. If the kid brought a large chunk of soap to school, fashioned in the shape of a gun the school response would be the same. Perhaps the word, “GUN” milled from steel in a CNC machine and then hot-blued… If you can admire “publik edjukayshen” for anything, they are to be lauded for their sheer ability to be consistent in this one single area.
”Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.”—George Washington
Governor Lynch and his hoplophobite cronies at the New Hampshire Police Chiefs Association are ramping up once again to put the kibosh on three Gun Bills slated to taken up this week by the legislature.
House Bill 334, relative to the state’s authority to prohibit or regulate firearms, firearms components, ammunition, or firearms supplies. Many find this legislation confusing because there is a belief that Public institutions fund with tax payer dollars already fall within the purview of RSA 159:26. In fact, Attorney Penny Dean told the Union Leader, current state law prohibits the University System from banning guns. Yet, somehow those educrats have carved out a little niche of unaccountability and have made an end-run around the legislature, ruling over their fiefdoms as they see fit. “I think this would be a huge mistake considering the age of the students here, and to have some possess firearms would be extremely dangerous,” UNH Police Chief Nicholas Halias tells the Union Leader. “Some students use alcohol and others use drugs, and having any weapon available would be catastrophic.”
“Gun bans disarm victims, putting them at the mercy of murderers or terrorists who think nothing of breaking the gun laws.” — Michael Bednarik
Yesterday at approximately 9:30 AM, an unknown person kicked in a locked door of an apartment residence in Merrimack As reported in the Union Leader… A forced entry. The female resident of that apartment, alone…was awoken by the intrusion. She consequently confronted the intruder, armed with a handgun. The intruder fled. The intruder fled.
