No Second Amendment Right Anywhere Else But America

“A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” — George Washington

A weapons Guide for the uninformedThe never ending gun policy debate. Wrought with fraud and declared upon the graves of dead children and teachers, the Newtown Massacre has been the new genesis for the current debate over citizens right to own and possess firearms. In the current political climate, the quotidian quips of vociferous faux Expositors of anti-gun rhetoric abound endlessly with claims made of whole cloth and cherry-picked facts that belie logic and truth.

Pediatricians And Guns, Part II

It is a good thing for a physician to have prematurely grey hair and itching piles.  The first makes him appear to know more than he does, and the second gives him an expression of concern which the patient interprets as being on his behalf.”  —A. Benson Cannon

Kid_with_gunOn Sunday, February 3, 2013 more than eighty Granite State Pediatricians endorsed an open letter to legislators demanding passage of a cornucopia of gun legislation, perpetuating a plethora of myths, mistruths and confabulations currently being presented as, “sensible gun policy.” The letter, obviously an advertisement paid for by the Pediatricians, and featured in the February 3rd edition of the New Hampshire Sunday

Granite State Pediatricians and Guns

“I am dying with the help of too many physicians.”   Alexander the Great

pediatric_Lefty_anti_gunOver a month ago, a group of pediatric physicians in New Hampshire, “passed the hat,” and paid for a two-third-page advertisement in the New Hampshire Union Leader Sunday News, politically weighing in on the gun debate. For their roughly $3,000 spent, here is what they had to say in their February 3rd letter….

An Open Letter on Guns —

That Pesky Second Amendment

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” —Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, adopted on December 15, 1791

SECOND_AMENDMENT_DELETE_smallIn a world where liberals view the constitution as a, “living document”, whereby the meaning changes with the (downward spiraling) values of the nation at large, it is no wonder that so many contorted meanings emerge regarding the second Amendment.

And who can blame them? Our second amendment is the very antithesis to

Seamless Statism

“Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all.”    —Frederic Bastiat

Worcester Massachuetts Police Chief Gary Gemme
Worcester Massachusetts Police Chief Gary Gemme

One of the most nifty aspects of being a statist in places like the People’s Republik of Taxachusetts is the flexibility afforded to statists by laws and policies. In the present cultural environment where our lame stream media is awash with anti-gun, pro-gun control advocacy, tin horn police chiefs can rule their fiefdoms as arbitrarily as they see fit, sans any commitment to the laws or the people they serve. And besides, where Mass Gun laws are concerned Chiefs can play as fast and loose as they choose.

Such is the case with Worcester Police Chief Gary Gemme. The Worcester Police Department

Painting A Picture About Machine Guns

In every age the vilest specimens of human nature are to be found among demagogues.” Thomas Babington Macaulay

Grok Writer Rick Olson fires the Smith & Wesson M76 submachine gun produced from 1967 to 1974. A copy of the Swedish Carl Gustav M45, S&W produced these for Covert Operations troops when Sweden refused to sell them to the U.S. during the Viet Nam war.

New Hampshire has most machine guns per capita in the country” declared the Sunday Headline of Foster’s Daily Democrat.  Foster’s Jim Haddadin writes,

“The number of automatic weapons in New Hampshire increased dramatically after 2010, according to federal firearms records, although it remains unclear whether the growth is being driven by civilians, law enforcement or the military.”

Personally, I think Haddadin gave fair treatment to this topic, given the spotty information the BATFE provides.

NH Police Chiefs Have a Gun Raffle To Raise Money

“If we try to engineer outcomes, if we overturn tradition to make everyone the same, we ruin society. If we upset tradition to allow for an equal shot at the starting gate, everyone wins, except for the charlatans and would be dictators…” Ben Stein

Not being a fan of the New Hampshire Association of Chief’s of Police, I now find myself in a peculiar position defending them…Narrowly and singly on this issue, of course. The Chiefs will hold a raffle….”31 days of Guns,” in May, drawing one winner each day.

Gun Raffles are nothing new in the Granite State. Two organizations I am the leader of  have hosted such gun raffles or “Thirty days of guns,” and the raffles have shown to be lucrative fund raisers for those organizations.
