Congressman James Patrick Moran, Democrat, from Virginia’s Eighth Congressional District Claims he has the support of 63 percent of NRA members for his piece of legislation. In a January 4th statement on his website:
Washington, DC – Congressman Jim Moran, Northern Virginia Democrat, reintroduced the “NRA Members’ Gun Safety Act” (H.R. 21) in the 113th Congress. The legislation would implement five commonsense gun safety reforms that polling shows are supported by at least 63 percent of NRA members.
“Polls show.” Polls show? Several repeated requests to the congressman’s office for the polling data, firm contracted and dates of the polls were ignored. Neither he nor his office is willing to defend their assertions stated in the presser.
This is classical, Divide and Conquer,” tactics ever so typical of the DemocRAT party. Moran and his ilk will stop at nothing to advance an anti-second amendment agenda, even stooping to deceptive practices…But that is nothing new for Jim Moran.
- In 1984 Moran resigned as Deputy Mayor of Alexandia pursuant to a misdemeanor nolo contendere plea from charges that he used money from a political action committee to rent a tuxedo and buy Christmas cards;
- In 1995, Moran was restrained by Capitol Police following a shoving match with Rep. Duke Cunningham on the house floor;
- Following Obama’s 2011 State of the Union Address, Moran in an interview with Arab TV network Alhurra, said, “a lot of people in here…don’t want to be governed by an African-American” and that the Democrats lost seats in the 2010 election for “the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States…the Southern states, particularly the slaveholding states, didn’t want to see a president who was opposed to slavery.”
- “Throw Them All Out,” author Peter Schweizer alleged in his book that Moran used information he obtained from a September 16, 2008 briefing, where Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke warned of an impending financial crisis, for his personal stock market activity, alleging that Moran made ninety trades that day.
And lets not forget the voter fraud allegations uncovered by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas.
Then there is Senator Joe Manchin. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) claims to have been working with the NRA on a bill to implement universal background checks, however, NRA-ILA’s Chris Cox denied the assertions and issued the following statement:
“The NRA does NOT support universal background checks and is not working with Manchin to implement this type of legislation. NRA opposes, and will continue to oppose, universal background checks and registration schemes.”
So now we have a couple of DemocRATS making attempts to dupe and deceive the American people. Manchin is a flip-flopper…The NRA endorse him as a candidate when he ran for his seat and now that he has the seat he will gladly stab them in the back and lie. This is what Democrats do.
