Born and raised in the US, I married into Australia in 1980 and stayed there for most of 38 years. On the heels of research that reported a 40% increase in COVID infections among regular mask users, the public masking menace has taken another shot to the McNuggets. This time, from a past that reinforces what we’re seeing now. Masks make matters worse.
The headline is a quote from a piece at Brownstone. It is a lengthy thing that documents at least 40 incidences of elites ignoring their own mask, lockdown, or distancing mandates. It is a handy reference worth your attention, but as the title tells you, that’s not what I’m going to talk about.
COVID is flu. This is an inflammatory statement in today’s societies all around the world. If you propose this to almost anyone, you’ll get scoffed at. A decade ago, this statement wouldn’t have meant anything. Yet, now, it is the truest statement regarding the events of the past few years. It is precisely the truth.
What controls will be next to replace mandatory masks, the jab, social distancing, and selectively closing down small businesses in the latest Covid scare?
Most of us have accepted that the COVID mandates are history. No more masks, distancing, lockdowns, or testing. Natural rights, what’s left of them, are not being infringed by local public health ordinances. The attentive among us know these restrictions are still here but on a Latte break, waiting to return.
