Watch: Democrat House Rep. Stands Up For Women’s Safe Spaces

Fellow Democrats, Stand Up and Walk Out (again).

Rep. Jonah Wheeler has broken the internet again, or is about to. Contrary to his party’s preferences (Democrats) he is broke with them to vote with the Republicans on HB148 (which passed 201-166).[Related: Democrat State Rep Calls for Change – In the Democrat Party]

This bill permits classification of individuals based on biological sex in lavatory facilities and
locker rooms, sporting competitions, and detention facilities.

Jonah gives a fantastic speech here, only six minutes, and it’s worth every second.

“If there are women who feel unsafe, if there are women who feel their space has become not private, then we should listen to them.”

This is not the first Time Jonah broke with his party on transgender issues. The last time, he was deemed in danger of assault by his own Democrat party members. You can watch that speech here.

His party tried to primary him out last year over that, but he won despite them, and he continues to voice this rare defense of women and girls from the Democrat side of the aisle.
