A functional definition of Fascism is to use the government’s coercive power to force businesses to bend to government diktats. Thus, de facto control of those businesses passes to the government even if, on paper, the legal owners retain title.

With your new mask mandate, making businesses enforce your law, you have shown yourself to be a Fascist.
The same applies to your sycophant, knee-pad brigade health board, and rubber-stamp Aldermen. So what’s next? Badges for repeat offenders – may I suggest a nice, visible yellow? Or will you go straight for the Australian model and arrest those who even just organize protests? Some municipalities have enacted jail time of up to a year for not wearing a mask. A year! Is that next? Once a vaccine is approved will you mandate a vaccine certificate to be able to go out, shop, or otherwise be in society?
Can you say Papers please? (Sounds better in the original German.)
All for a virus that the CDC says has a greater than 99% recovery rate, and for which there are known therapies, like hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin + zinc.
Tyrants will tyrant, and you are showing yourself to be rising to the very definition of the warning from C.S. Lewis in his famous quote:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Mayor Fascist, we no longer believe you. We no longer trust you or your intentions. We no longer believe you to be a legitimate representative of The People, and we understand you are a tyrant. How sadly ironic that, a few weeks ago, I passed this monument to those who fought for freedom in the Live Free or Die! state… not the Wear a mask and obey! state (re: the monument to General Stark and his men, above).
These men fought for freedom; you are raping that freedom. You have squandered that great legacy for which multiple direct lineal ancestors of mine fought. And how ironic this quote from a former New Hampshire statesman. Daniel Webster:
Good intentions will always be pleaded, for every assumption of power; but they cannot justify it … It is hardly too strong to say, that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intention, real or pretended.
And in particular, for the Board of Health’s Dr. Stephanie Wolf-Rosenblum: You should have remained in Egypt, for you are not worthy of the freedom Hashem gave us.

As to the police – whether in Nashua or elsewhere in the great Granite State:
Few will stand with more respect to you than I. You are the sheepdogs, the Thin Blue Line that helps and protects our community. I cannot imagine the stress each day holds – never knowing if the day will pass with only a speeding ticket or two, or a call to a domestic where the offenders are screaming at each other and you must exercise Solomon-level judgment to tease out the facts, or – Hashem forbid – an active shooting incident where seconds count and decisions must be made instantly in the hope you choose rightly to save lives. It is a job I know I could not do, and kudos to you for shouldering that enormous burden.
But then I read about incidents like this – Ohio football mom puts up heck of a fight before she’s reportedly tased and arrested after not wearing a mask – where a mother who is “socially distancing” is tased in front of her children. The woman was outside, separate from others. And she is still marked and then arrested. Or this – During a Routine Child Services Check, Cops Hog-tied a Mom and Carried Her Out ‘Like a Pig Upside Down‘ – or myriad other examples.
In comments about these and others, I read repeated assertions that “They are just enforcing the law”.
The above is my son’s Hebrew-name namesake and his son (c. 1930). He, his wife, and then-teenage boy were taken from their home – legally. They were forced into boxcars – legally. They were taken to Auschwitz – legally. And they were murdered there – legally. Those who did the deeds at every step of the way were, also, “enforcing the law”.
Except, as was proven in Nuremberg, just following orders did not work as an excuse then. Do not think it will serve as an excuse now. Refuse to enforce this tyrannical mandate. Nor should you forget who put you into this situation, e.g., in Nashua, Der Fuhrer, and his mandates.
In countries like Australia, the police are getting their “inner Gestapo” on, arresting pregnant women who simply post they want to organize a rally to protest the mask mandates. Old women sitting on park benches unmasked, nowhere near anyone, are harassed. Police march through markets in force, armored and armed for battle, to arrest anyone not following the pronouncements of those on high. And Australians are getting increasingly restive, and increasingly see the police not as protectors of The People, but as enemies of The People. The same is being seen around the world as the police confront, harass, attack, pepper-spray, and arrest those who protest.
I implore you, do not emulate them. We here in the Granite State still see you as protectors. We want to see you as protectors. We do not want to start seeing you as enemies, for once that shift starts you will lose the support of and assistance from your communities. We will no longer cooperate with you. Your job, already difficult, will become vastly more difficult.
And it pains me, it wounds me to the depths of my very soul to say this, for I say it with an entreaty from my heart and tears in my eyes, but I repeat: Do not become our enemy.
Refuse to enforce the mask mandates.
