I’m a Republican through-and-thr0ugh, so I don’t endorse the idea. In fact, it could ensure endless Democrat electoral victories…but I’m wondering what everyone else thinks. At 3:55 in the video below Sarah Palin reflects on what might happen if the Republican Party “continues to ignore conservatives”; what do you think?

More and more, Government workers are making us believe by their actions that we Citizens (and Parents) are the problem to be taken care of and solved. Now, this real story I had seen before, but who can pass up and putting in a line like this from NH’s own Mark Steyn to introduce it?
I’ve written before about the psychologically unhealthy need of every tinpot makework bureaucracy to run around pretending to be Seal Team Six.
I do wonder if there is a large scale case of “projection” that goes on in Government – and they armor, weaponize, and Rambo up, do they project themselves onto ordinary citizens and go “nope, these are too dangerous for real people to have – they must be disarmed” (RE: NH’s Deputy Dawg Shurtleff)! And then I see a story like this and go “Really? Whose holsters should be emptied and put on the Barney Fife Bullet Rule”? Daily Progress (emphasis mine, reformatted):
When a half-dozen men and a woman in street clothes closed in on University of Virginia student Elizabeth Daly, 20, she and two roommates panicked. That led to Daly spending a night and an afternoon in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. Her initial offense? Walking to her car with bottled water, cookie dough and ice cream just purchased from the Harris Teeter in the Barracks Road Shopping Center for a sorority benefit fundraiser. A group of state Alcoholic Beverage Control agents clad in plainclothes approached her, suspecting the blue carton of LaCroix sparkling water to be a 12-pack of beer. Police say one of the agents jumped on the hood of her car. She says one drew a gun. Unsure of who they were, Daly tried to flee the darkened parking lot.
Steyn had it right – tinpots. You have a college gal shopping and a group of folks look like they are about to attack her. Gun Time? What if she had been carrying? Would it have been justifiable self-defense? Me in that situation? Am not sure I would have done much different – but I also carry. Given their Rambo actions (really, jumping on the hood??), you BET I would have been scared too. And given that TMEW goes with me places most evenings, I would have immediately gone into Protector Mode – what husband wouldn’t?

On May 27, 1999 a month after the Columbine Massacre, Father of student Rachel Joy Scott, lost to the Columbine Massacre, Daryl Scott presented this statement to the House Judiciary Committees’ sub-committee on crime. This statement is over fourteen years old. Remarkably though, so few people I talk to know so little about its existence. This statement is “epic powerful,” so I truly fail to understand why my brethren in the Pro-gun, Pro-Second Amendment Community continually “guild the lily,” with this. WHY? Daryl Scotts’ word are legitimate…they are true! This is IN FACT what he submitted to the sub-committee, so why my brethren keep dressing it up with Bullsh*t?
There were no “national leaders present;” There was no, “special session;” These words are powerful, insightful and should be heeded. So without further fanfare I include them below unadulterated, sans showmanship and window dressing:
Now and then I find myself astonished by our President. His ability to move from one part of a room to another fluidly, gracefully, and without the least bit of a stammer, stumble, or trip in his gait is quite remarkable. I marvel watching him playing basketball and skirting around the court seemingly unencumbered by anything, with no trouble at all. It is indeed amazing. Amazing that a man, who apparently has a set of Brunswick 16’s knocking together with each step like a two ball version of a gigantic Newton’s Cradle desk game and is not impeded by them in the slightest is simply amazing.
It’s obvious that he’s lugging around a set that can match ball of choice many professional bowlers use because what else would explain otherwise incredulous statements spewing from the guys mouth with an otherwise straight face?
When is someone going to sue the state of Connecticut for public endangerment and as an accomplice to murder?
Children are dead because of a policy agenda, sold to the people as a better guarantee of safety, enforced by the police state, that intentionally disarmed its citizens, and clearly identified the places where they would be most vulnerable, leaving them helpless and vulnerable to attack.
With or without government human beings have a natural right to defend their lives (their friends and families, and those in their charge) from anyone or anything that would try to take it. The state of Connecticut, and many others, have actively sought to deny you that right under the false pretense that they could or would accept responsibility for protecting you anywhere and everywhere that those natural rights were denied by force of law.
Yeah, walking right up to that Godwin’s Law again – but with horror and anger: We have your children. Obamacare is coming in less than 90 days and Obama and HHS Secretary Sebelius are running scared as polls show that a majority of Americans want it killed off. So we hear news of the NFL and the NBA being approached to help “sell” Obamacare as if they were used cars sales guys. Lots of “community groups” (like the Wellness Wonder Team made up of ACORN and other “community organizers”) are being asked to help as well to canvass their communities to sign up young donor suckers would be patients through the as-of-yet non-functional Exchanges. Media outlets are running feel good pieces as well – after all, look at what we are going to give you for FREE!!!
Like everything else Governmental that tries to “create a market” that the private market has shunned, our Smart People / Ruling Class just can’t fathom why they have to persuade people to use their services. It just doesn’t click with them that if the offering was THAT good:
So, seeing their failure and impending public humiliation, we now see the these nascent Totalitarians have decided to use “the most vulnerable amongst us” – our children – and are coming schools to spread the Word of Obamacare. Not just that, students are being enlisted and are expected to go home to tell the adults (their Parents) to “shape up and get with the program”.
Parents – more and more we see the Ruling Class (the likes of MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry, Hillary, and most Progressives) believe my kids belong to their Village (idiots)- instead of Parents being in charge. Instead, Parents are seen as being the stumbling blocks and part of the problem. Remember that Michelle Obama declared what kids should eat: “We can’t just leave it up to the parents“. And a teacher of our teachers had this to add:
“Every child in America entering school at the age of five is insane because he comes to school with certain allegiances toward our Founding Fathers, toward his parents, toward our elected officials, toward a belief in a supernatural being, and toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity.
It’s up to you, teachers, to make all of these sick children well by creating the international child of the future.”
And I had this to say about that:
It is NOT the role of government public schools to “teach” our children a way of thinking that is antithetical to their God, their parents, and their country; that is sheer indoctrination! Yet, I bet if you dig enough, you’d find it in your local school system (one teacher here in Gilford was heard to say something in a similar philosophical manner “WE have your children 6 hours a day and WE know what is best for them”. In other words, as it was taken “we know better than parents what is needed to be taught!”
Well, California is about to go ALL IN and drop the pretense, embrace the reason why Godwin’s Law exists and proceed not with reading, writing, and arithmetic (that’s just so passe) and skip right to the Indoctrination:

Jeanne Shaheen, a recipient of truckloads of money from abortion groups like EMILY’s list, supports Kermit Gosnellesque abortions, all the way to birth including live birth abortion. That sounds extreme to me. Though I suppose, if you never really took off the blue tinted glasses to look past the progressive bubble, into the world where we are not all either propagandized acolytes, millionaires, or sycophants, you might discover that a recent National Journal poll shows that 48% of all Americans would support a law that prohibits any abortion after 20 weeks.
That’s only 20 weeks sooner than Extreme Ja Heen Sha Heen.

Fourteen Republicans joined every Democrat in support of the bill: Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Jeff Chiesa (N.J.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Dean Heller (Nev.), John Hoeven (N.D., Mark Kirk (Ill.), John McCain (Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), and Marco Rubio (Fla.).
“This is one of the most divisive issues in one of the most divisive Congresses, but you know what? Our Republican guys showed amazing strength,” Senator Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) told reporters after the vote.
Right. Amnesty. I don’t care what is SAID, I care what is WRITTEN in the bill and I’ve seen this happen in 1965, 1986, and 2006. How’d that amnesty stuff work out – pretty good, huh? How’d that border enforcement stuff work out – what border enforcement? How’d that “bipartisan compromise” work out, eh? “Snookered once again” comes to mind.
And when one of the most partisan Democrats (if not THE most partisan Progressive) in the US Senate, Chuckie Schumer (D-NY) calls you “OUR Republican”, it gives me cause to wonder what happened to when it was “our (lower case) Senator”? When Schumer does that, you know:

Two American bloggers, purportedly of good repute, although I haven’t heard of them– which means very little as I’m not a big blog-head and usually hear of the cool ones after they’ve exited Cooldom–were to speak at a march in Woolwich, England. That town may ring a bell. That’s where the British soldier Drummer Lee Rigby was brutally beheaded by a crazed machete wielding Muslim.
Evidently, there is going to be a march there by the England Defence League, a group not all that keen with the idea of an Islamist threat on their streets, and the bloggers who co-founded the group “Stop Islamization of America” were to join. You can see that the two groups are sympatico in at least one respect. But I say “were to join”, because the joined has been unjoined with the U.K. Home Office announcing it has banned the bloggers from the U.K. Apparently their presence, “is not conducive to the public good”, according to one official.
And so it is with the U.K. Just a month after one of its soldiers was beheaded on the street of its own cities, its officials find spine and stand up ready to fight and their target is…
