As I reported yesterday:   “May I suggest a good book today – and a GREAT Obamacare healthcare insurance plan??”

Remember when the Patriot Act first came out and the hysteria that ensued from the Nation’s Librarians when they found out that the Feds could come in and demand what books had been taken out by their patrons?  My GOSH, you’d think that the antagonists from Red Dawn movie had come in with guns blazing:  ” SHHHHHH, be quiet!  And we’re gonna burn all the registration cards!  NO – I will NOT turn over my card catalog!  But for Obamacare??

Well as a former budget committee member in town, I know that lots of time is spent in crafting a budget and lots of time is spent examining each line item.  Why?  While monies can be moved around from line item to line item in a NH municipal budget, monies canNOT be expended for a purpose not covered by a line item.  So, if there is no “Obamacare outreach” or some such thing similar, those monies cannot be expended.  So what, you ask?  Like I believed yesterday, local property taxes would have to be used for local public libraries to support the socialized healthcare known as Obamacare.  And no, there is no “free money from the Feds to offset time taken away from their real duties (emphasis mine):

As if the corruption of the library’s time-honored purpose is not enough, the institution won’t even receive a reward for its self-betrayal. Susan Hildreth, Director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services [a Federal entity -Skip], has stated that “there are no federal funds to support this program.” As libraries already face devastating budget cuts and declines in funding, the initiative to serve as Obamacare’s cheerleader in communities could spell disaster. In addition to spending money to train librarians in their new capacity as healthcare experts, the alliance could alienate patrons who disapprove of the healthcare legislation and cause them to reconsider much-needed donations to their local library as it converts into something like “Obamacare Enrollment Station #1234.”

Finally, we start to see a bankrupt nation running out of money “for all” things. Here in NH, we hear a lot of complaining and wailing about “downshifting of costs” from one level of government down to lower levels – isn’t this the same thing only from a higher level? So if you DO ask your local authorities if your library is going to be a shill salesdudes information providers for Obamacare  and they say “don’t worry, we’ll get reimbursed”?  Let that gleam begin to shine in your eye and ask “Really?”

True “equality,” when it comes to marriage, can never be anything less than any two (or more) people (or life forms) who claim they wish to be legally joined by marriage, enjoying the tax free benefits of same.   What is to stop any two people from declaring their interest in being “joined” for tax (or insurance) purposes to distant enough family members–until such time as that bigotry and inequality is legally banished (allowing marriage between close family members)–two business partners, an adult and a child (likely related)–another bigoted prohibition from ancient days–to whom they could then pass on their accumulated wealth and assets….with significant tax advantages?

It’s actually tax-evasion marriage.

So is same sex marriage just a plot by the uber-wealthy (or the wealthy enough) to pass their wealth to another without doing their “patriotic duty” and paying the Federal ferryman its predetermined and significant cut (by law) of the value of all assets upon death–a taxing feature (not a bug) that the same-sex supporting liberal-progressive-Democrats are also in favor of?

The West Virgina Student, Jared Marcum, who was suspended for one day for wearing an NRA T-shirt to school and refusing to take it off or turn it inside out, who then wore it to school again after his suspension and was then charged with obstruction by a local prosecutor…will not be charged.

So get a load of this…

On June 17^th, Logan County prosecutors charged Marcum with obstructing a police officer, claiming that Marcum had hindered the responding officer’s ability to do his job by “interrupting” and refusing to be quiet when told to do so. The charge carried with it the possibility of incarceration in a juvenile facility. In contesting the charge, White noted that “In my view of the facts, Jared didn’t do anything wrong,” going on to say, “I think [the officer] could have done something differently.”

So they wanted to incarcerate this kid in a juvenile facility for talking out of turn?  Riiigghhht!

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because anti-gunners always talk about 90 percent of Americans supporting this gun control measure, or 65 percent supporting that one, as if a majority opinion is what truly matters in America. We don’t trust anti-gun people because you think America is a democracy, when it’s actually a constitutional federal republic. In the American system, the rights of a single individual are what matters and are what our system is designed to protect. The emotional mob does not rule in America.

Who else?  Who DON’T we know about?

As I mentioned here, it seems that the Federal Government has such a vested interest in Obamacare that they are willing to go after “the most vulnerable amongst us” – our children.  Just another example of Liberals using the Government Schools in The Cause of Progressive Outcomes?  Fer sure, dudes!

I also remember when Obama decided, during the 2010 State of the Union Address, politically attack the Supreme Court for its Citizens United decision:

“Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law[58] to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities.”

This from the guy that has received more from corporate interests (including unions, I might add), yet Justice Alito was the one who was castigated for merely shaking his head “No”.  Democrats went nuts and we still keep hearing from them that a Constitutional Amendment MUST be passed to silence those evil corporations (“but unions are merely collections of individuals, so they should have the right to speak out” – of course, because 99% of their effort is solidly Democrat).   Silenced, because that is all the Left knows in how to win arguments.  After all, that is how Obama got his start in Chicago – simply by silencing his opposition one candidate at a time, one after another (which is why he is now trying to silence the Religious – his biggest rival for the “peoples’ hearts” – and Freedom).

Except when they kneel before him – knavishly trying to curry political favor from Big Government in its role of dishing out taxpayer money or privilege via Crony Capitalism (e.g., “reward our friends and punish our enemies).  Thus, what way to better curry favor than to help Obamacare become the success the President and HHS Secretary Sebelius need for Obamacare (e.g., sign up the young serfs to pay for levels of healthcare insurance

Yup, we now have the Federal Government turning to Community Libraries to act as insurance salesmen and Obamacare kiosks.  You know, everyone is just so flocking to be first in line like for the latest LeBron or Jordon sneakers, or tix to the latest fad signing act (sorry, I admit that this part of the culture is a failure for me so I can’t name them) or the newest iPhone.  You know, Real Important Stuff that captures the imagination of the pop culture (sorry, fuddy duddy here) and are willing to go all in for what ever the private marketplace is offering.

Well, Obamacare is SUCH a hit that people are just jumping in anticipa…….oh wait, I’ve had too much sugar tonite – I’m hallucinating.  Right now, the Obamacare  Bureaucracy is shaking in fear – how does that Private Marketplace do it; heck, even with a LAW saying they have to, it doesn’t look like people are going to want to sign up (heck, the Youngest admitted this past week that he didn’t know he had to – and look what I do!).  Sign up the Government Schools to do their indoctrination, sign up the Evil Corporations to try to make it cool to sign up – and now you may be hearing:

“Stupid people are ruining America.”   —Herman Cain

You just cannot make this stuff up.  Kim Ratliff is the Mecklenburg County North Carolina  board’s Democratic vice chairwoman. Presently in Charlotte- Mecklenburg, there is a vacancy for the position of County Manager. who told WBTV that

In commenting on the county manager vacancy Friday, Commissioner Ratliff, who is black, told local CBS affiliate WBTV, she’d prefer commissioners not choose a “white male” to fill the position. “The county needs a manager who is “a nonwhite male who can have good working relations with all people,” Ratliff says.

How could they run this story? “Is WBTV Channel 3 merely a mouthpiece for angry white males in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg market?”  Somebody somewhere must be asserting this because this station is being racist for reporting this. Are they not? Is that not the present-day template in the lame stream media?

Second, Is WBTV reporter Colleen Harry an, “Uncle Tom,” or a, “Sell-out,” for breaking this story?  Is Colleen Harry throwing Kim Ratliff under the bus as a media career stepping stone? These are important questions!

Several anti-gun State Representatives stepped up and read names off of the list at the anti-gun podium. N.H. State Rep Mary Beth Walz (D) Merrimack District 23-Bow.  The source was another State Rep who positively identified her. So there’s that.

Not only does he do an excellent job of covering the topic, there are scores of links to articles and useful reference material on the subject.  As a hobby-blogger, that alone warrants an immense amount of respect.  (Research and linking can be very time consuming and tedious).  So over the next few days I will post portions of this piece–assuming no one objects–for your consumption and debate.

No experience necessary

In the gun debate, I’ve discovered that one cannot be expert enough about guns. Indeed, when it comes to the gun issue, opinion rules. There doesn’t seem to be any opportunity for any genuine, honest debate on guns, and even liberals would agree with that. I’ve often wondered about this over the years. Is it because my side of the debate is actually loony? I don’t think so; at least, I think I’m pretty normal. Sure, we’ve got some oddballs we all wish would go away, just like any group does.
