Yeah, I missed putting these up on “Earth Day” but hey, what’s a few days given that I’ve been listening to this crap for 40 years.  Frankly, these Watermelon Environmentalists (“green on the outside, red on the inside”) have been giving us such fearful predictions that they make the Pastors fire & brimstone sermons I heard growing up like the rantings of two year olds.  Yet, not a single one has come true – 40 years and no end in sight. This should give any rational person a skepticism concerning any timeline hell on earth conditions.  You see, they just keep thinking status quo / straight line thinking and never consider a resource that makes all the difference in the world – human ingenuity. Here’s a few from WUWT from the original Earth Day:

At least Ben and Jerry want to pay MORE and are willing to pay MORE in taxes.  They just want everyone else to do the same.  So do these folks – MSNBC Progressive (“Lean FORWARD!”) commentators all.  They, too, harp on this all the time.  Unlike Ben & Jerry, they just don’t pay their own taxes (reformatted, emphasis mine):

National Review’s Jillian Kay Melchior reported Wednesday that, along with Al Sharpton and Melissa Harris-Perry, two more MSNBC stars are not paying their fair share of taxes. Touré  Neblett, co-host of “The Cycle” owes the IRS a cool $59,000.  Joy-Ann Reid, a former anchor and now a regular contributor to the “Lien” Forward network, owes New York almost $5,000 in back taxes.  As we reported last week, Melissa Harris-Perry owes the IRS $70,000. Al Sharpton’s tax bill is upwards of $3 – $4 million.

Stop Common Core.org  |  Senate Comm. Votes Against HB603

Today April 28th, the Senate Education Committee voted “Inexpedient to legislate” on HB603. That means the majority, three of the five members, voted to KILL HB603 and deny you your parental rights. (Senators Stiles, Watters and Kelly) Why? …Senator Stiles…(is) concerned about losing federal dollars.

Since HB603 would put into statute a parent’s right to opt out of these bad assessments, let’s look at how that has impacted other states. Did they lose federal funding?

The case before the NH State Supreme Court May 22, 2015 is about an offensive, to non-resident voters, legislative addition to our NH Election law, RSA 654:7, that informs a registering voter that they must follow all NH statutes when declaring NH their domicile to vote. Domicile is the requirement of our State Constitution for any newly registering inhabitant the age of 18, Part I Article II, second sentence.

The case is now titled Annemarie Guare v. State of NH because it seems Hannah Rivers is no longer listed as a litigant.

Contact your senator today about HB 323. We must pass the Hoell/Avard amendment or kill the bill. Save our kids.

HB 323 is a very critical bill as it is tied to New Hampshire’s Elementary and Secondary Education (ESEA), aka No Child Left Behind (NCLB), waiver. This waiver is the agreement that the state Department of Education makes with the US DOE so the state can have flexibility from some of the more punitive aspects of NCLB’s mandates. It also commits New Hampshire to contractual agreements with the feds for the next three years. This agreement drives many of the requirements the state DOE dictates to local school districts, such as the adoption of College and Career Readiness Standards (another name for Common Core) and the aligned assessments.

Common Core and the oppressive over-testing associated with the Smarter Balanced Assessments have been very controversial in the state the last few years, and only more so in recent months. So why should New Hampshire make more commitments to these failed experiments?

NEW HAMPSHIRE makes Presidents. The way it’s done was in full view last weekend, when 16 Republican hopefuls pressed into the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua, for two days of Q&A and coffee huddles with local voters. It was democracy at its best.

Since 1952, winning the presidency almost always starts with a win in the New Hampshire primary, the first in the nation by law. In the months ahead, thousands of New Hampshire voters will flock to bars, diners, neighbors’ homes, and packed gatherings like the Nashua event to size up candidates. They will know more about the candidates than anyone else in America. Last weekend they heard that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker buys his shirts at Kohl’s and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina started out as an office temp and lost a daughter to addiction.

Here’s what came out of it:

First, there will be no Jeb Bush coronation. Though the former Florida governor (son of one President, brother of another) is leading in the polls, it’s not by much. “No one’s giving it to me,” Bush said. There was less enthusiasm for Bush than his closest rival in the polls, Walker.

Crony Capitalism – the combination of Big Government and Big Business cooperating to use taxpayers as a Piggy Bank.  Both of these gentleman showed us in their Op-Ed in the Union Leader that they possess an entitlement outlook that NH taxpayers should be expected to shoulder their advertising budget for them (entire Op-Ed after the jump) even with their own personal successes:

These are not small operations by anyone’s view.  So why should we (just as with Les Otten’s attempted claim on $28 Million for his Balsam Boondogle project) taxpayers fund their operations – as rent-seeking (seeking a profit and/or preferred treatment from Government)is ALSO part of the definition of Crony Capitalism?   McLear and Ray actually make the case against doing so in their own words:

Who owns your kids – you or the Education system?  I’ve blogged about this more and more, it seems, as more stuff keeps popping up.  This latest one surrounds what Arne Duncan, US Secretary of Education said upon the news that up to 184,000 kids in New York will not be taking the standardized tests mandated by Government for school kids to take under the No Child Left Behind Act (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Under No Child Left Behind, at least 95 percent of students in a state must take annual standardized tests in reading and math from grades 3-8. Until now, the federal government has never had to contemplate enforcing that regulation, but a growing parent-led boycott effort is changing things. Now, in many states, thousands of parents who oppose new Common Core-aligned tests or simply oppose testing in general are yanking their children out of exams. In New York, activists claim over 175,000 students are refusing to take the state’s new standardized English tests, a figure that would put the state on pace to miss the 95 percent threshold.

Gosh – there seems to be a civil rights movement growing against the Federal Government’s efforts to take over from local education, doesn’t it?  And certainly here in NH, the Department of Education collectivists are showing their bootlicking tendencies in showing that what ever Washington orders, they will comply because MONEY!  And, truth be told, ideology – that Government SHOULD be in control and the Freedom to choose by parents must be verboten.
