Christie Endorsement Fist Bump or “Missed” Bump

Chris Christie

The Union Leader has endorsed Gov. Chris Christie for the Republican nomination as have Jeff Chidester and Donna Sytek, suggesting, if nothing else, and interesting range of “appeal.”

While we are fans of what has come to be known as Chris Christie Porn–the videos of town-hall style meetings where Gov. Christie straight talks his way through and over the left’s union machine–no one on the Grok that I know of is endorsing him. Nothing personal, there are just more conservative, pro-liberty candidates to choose from and we are who we claim to be, Conservatarians.

Despite that, I feel obligated to give the endorsements a fair shake; has the polling needle moved? Was this a fist bump or a “missed” bump?

Recognize it for what it is: another tool for NIMBYs and BANANAs

This at the UL caught my eye with the title of Dave Solomon’s Power Plays: NH joins energy community rights network (emphasis mine, reformatted):

She says the idea of the Community Rights movement is not to eliminate state or federal authority to site needed energy, transportation or water projects if they are publicly sponsored and deemed necessary in the public interest by elected representatives. “We are not looking to override all preemption of local authority,” she said. “We understand that preemption is necessary for the public good when it is protecting public rights.”

But when corporations propose projects that have not met the test of public necessity, local control should prevail, she says. A new highway, a water reservoir or an electric reliability project are different from corporate-sponsored projects like Northern Pass or the Northeast Energy Direct pipeline, according to Sanborn.

Yes, this is the group that has been sponsoring a number of warrant articles (here in NH, people or local boards can present items to be voted upon at either Town Meeting or ballot voting) that have tried to literally override the idea that towns and cities are mere sub-divisions of the State and can override statutes if the townfolk decide that is appropriate.  Now,

Are Planned Parenthood Clinics Still Safer than Chicago (for the born and breathing, at least?)

planned-parenthood-sign-parts-service-e1439203467161

Erick Erickson | Erick on the Radio.com

This past Friday, a lunatic who lived in a shack with no running water or electricity killed three people in Colorado Springs, CO. He wound up going into a Planned Parenthood facility. Three people were killed. None of those were abortionists or patients.

There is one surprising thing about the Colorado Springs shooting at the Planned Parenthood clinic. It is that it is a rare event.

Obama Care Premiums Based on Zip Code?

obamacareCracked-680x365

A readersent me the text of a conversation they had with a health care navigator about plans and premium costs. According to the navigator while income is a factor, what they really need to determine your cost… is your zip code.

Reader:  The letter I received stated an “estimated” monthly premium for 2016.  We are looking at all our options, and would like to know the exact amount of the premium based on his 2015 earnings.

Navigator:  They are not based on earnings, they are based on zip code.  We only need to know your zip code.

Active Shooters in California [Updated] [Updated] -2 shooters down

There’s a lot of noise out there about the latest tragedy in California not all of it unpredictable.

Hot Air has a ton of updates here (including the liberal nut-job reaction) if you want to follow the thread.

The left is basically short stroking their anti-gun narrative and CNN even reported that the shootings were within two miles of a Planned Parenthood (where they don’t do mammograms by the way since that is just as relevant).

Gee, Concord Monitor misses the point again

And no, it is not about “The politics of poverty, safety nets” as the Concord Monitor would have you believe from their Op-Ed title:

Editorial: The politics of poverty, safety nets

It goes on to talk about the “puzzling” question of why people would “vote against their own self-interest” – the hubris of Progressives that just can’t seem to get that a lot of people don’t have a hankering to be “taken care of” at the expense of them making their own decisions. Progressives seem to believe that if they provide for everyone’s needs, they should be seeing the gratitude – and they can’t believe the lack therof.  Note to Progressives – true adults hate the idea of being “kept” or reduced to being treated as children that are unable to care for themselves

It meanders around the political votes of states – and THEN gets to the heart of what I believe is the truth of the matter:

“These voters are consciously opting against a Democratic agenda that they see as bad for them and good for other people – especially the undeserving benefit-recipients in their midst,” MacGillis wrote. To hear a neighbor on disability boast about dragging his monster buck out of the woods is to become an opponent of the program and the party that backs it.

Gov. John Sununu has some explaining to do. Breitbart is reporting that, Sununu said, “I assume that even the Trump supporters want this country to move in a different direction. If Trump is the nominee, we lose — as Republicans we lose the Senate, we lose most of the House and we lose the presidency. … Read more

Climate Boondoggle Retrospective

Solar Energy Boondoggles

While Obama is in Paris trying to give away the store again I thought a trip down memory-hole lane was in order: when it comes to betting your money on “innovations” in the “21st century energy economy” to address Mann-Made Global Warming Obama..what’s the word I’m looking for…? Sucks!

On World Stage Obama Makes An Ass of Himself (again)

According to Obama the shootings in Colorado last week; that “just doesn’t happen in other countries.” He’s speaking in Paris.

Democrats are arrogant, narrative junkie, tone-deaf, morons and this is their leader.

There is, actually, at least one thing related to Planned Parenthood that does not happen in any other western country? Want to know what it is?
