Apparently we knew something the pollsters didn’t.

polling, pencil, checkboxRemember the NH Primary Election way back in September? I took a look back recently. WMUR had a poll released on August 30 that measured the candidates for governor. Here is the opening paragraph.

TWO WEEKS FROM PRIMARY AND NH VOTERS ARE STILL UNFAMILIAR WITH GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES

By: Andrew E. Smith, Ph.D. andrew.smith@unh.edu  Zachary S. Azem, M.A.  603-862-2226  UNH Survey Center www.unh.edu/survey-center

DURHAM, NH – In one of the most wide-open races for governor in recent history, most Granite State voters are unfamiliar with candidates of both parties heading into the September 13th primaries.

These findings are based on the latest WMUR Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

Portsmouth Police Commissioner Joe Plaia lies about guns in ad

plaiacommissioner

Yesterday a new, fearmongering ad appeared in New Hampshire social media that featuresPortsmouth Police Commissioner Joe Plaia. The ad was created by Independence USA PAC, an out-of-state PAC run by New York City billionaire and gun control addict, Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg has been spending millions of dollars to push gun control and Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire during this election and chose a police commissioner who isn’t exactly honest.

Well, it’s nice to have good news for a change

It’s official, measles has been eliminated from the Americas. “More than 50 years since a vaccine became available, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has officially declared measles eliminated from the Americas – not just the US, but the land mass stretching from Canada to Chile, and all the countries in between. It’s the first region … Read more

Well, I guess I ticked off Treehugger again….banned

Here’s what I left as a comment:

This is one of the really big reasons many on the Right sneer at environmentalists – EVERY problem seems to require getting Government involved to achieve their wants. Make it bigger (hardly ever better) and more intrusive in making the rest of us hew to your idea of what is right.

How about this – how about petitioning the COMPANIES and the growers instead? If it is that great of an idea, wouldn’t it be logical to do that FIRST instead of running to Daddy Govt to spank everyone else?

And even better – you see a problem in the marketplace? Don’t like what is being done? Put your money and time where your mouth is and fill that perceived “void” (in this case, the packaging you want but aren’t getting) in the marketplace by starting your own company and just out-compete everyone else. Why not, if there are just so many darn people who are “demanding” what you want – by your own words, you should be a resounding success (and sincerely, more power to you for having done so).

But remember this – that will be much much harder than, you know, bitching about it some regulators and annoying the rest of us that will have seen yet a choice disappear from our lives because “you don’t need that“.

“You don’t need that” – the tell of Progressives and the intent to use the force of Government to enforce it.  The post I left it at?

“I am convinced that in the long run, giving up some freedom of action… enhances our security”

I try hard not to be a conspiracy hound (although a couple of our Progressive commenters, bless their hearts, keep rolling rocks on ‘Grok grounds so that the phrase “looking under rocks to find a conspiracy” could be used) so a lot of times I’ll pass on posting something up simply because, well, “first info” isn’t always right. Or the second.  Sure, it means that sometimes I’m not “first” and it gets to be too late to bother.  So I don’t travel over to Info Wars but the when it has Obama’s words from his latest UN speech?  Well then, the title: VIDEO: OBAMA THINKS US SOVEREIGNTY OVERRATED, SHOULD CEDE FREEDOMS TO UN (emphasis mine):

And we can only realize the promise of this institution’s founding — to replace the ravages of war with cooperation — if powerful nations like my own accept constraints. Sometimes I’m criticized in my own country for professing a belief in international norms and multilateral institutions. But I am convinced that in the long run, giving up some freedom of action — not giving up our ability to protect ourselves or pursue our core interests, but binding ourselves to international rules over the long term — enhances our security. And I think that’s not just true for us.

I read that and immediately thought of Ol Ben:

Idiot Kerry Didn’t Consult with Idiot Gore

Not long ago Secretary of State John Kerry told us that Air conditioning was a bigger threat to the world than ISIS. I’m guessing Idiot Kerry failed to confer with Idiot Gore before making this claim. You see, Idiot Gore’s “invention” (the Internet) requires computers and servers (wiping cloth sold separately) that cannot function unless they … Read more

If Democrats Really Wanted to Get ‘Money Out of Politics’ They’d Tax It

taxesIf Democrats REALLY wanted to get money out of politics, they’d tax it. I don’t know, let’s say 90%. Unions, candidates, so-called non-profits, anyone spending money to advocate for or against a candidate, or issue or measure, directly, indirectly, via lawyers or lobbyists, etc., etc. shall pay the tax on those expenditures.

If 90% is too steep, how about we peg it to the highest individual or better yet corporate tax rate?

NH Ballot Selfie Ban Ruled Unconstitutional

judge-gavelBack in 2014, Democrat New Hampshire House Rep. Timmy Horrigan sponsored a change to election law that would make it illegal to share a picture of your completed ballot online. It passed 156 to 121 (135 Democrats and 21 Republicans favored the change), and Democrat Governor Maggie Hassan Signed it into law.

The First Circuit Court of Appeals just threw it out. Verdict? Unconstitutional violation of the first amendment right to free speech.

Why Did the FBI Let Hills Get Away with Mishandling Classified Information?

Because Obama was as guilty as she was! Watch: Obama communicated with Wobbles over her unclassified system using a pseudonym according to documents made public by the FBI last Friday. For a detail explanation, see former prosecutor Andy McCarthy’s report. But, hey, forget that. Let’s talk about fat chics.

Clinton thinks 40 years of the Hyde Amendment is enough

I posted this at DaTechGuy Blog. Let me add that Maggie Hassan is all in with Hillary Clinton in opposing the Hyde Amendment. Not long after Roe v.
