WaPo Apologetics ‘Anarchist Weekend Warrior’ Edition

You’ve heard the characterization of those serving in the National Guard as weekend warriors or Harley Riders as weekend warriors.  Now, the Washington Post gives you: Anarchists as weekend warriors!

I’m not kidding. I’ll start with a tweet by satirist @iowahawkblog:

I just read the Wapo article. The funny thing is the tone of the peace is so tender and gentle, as if they were stroking a cute wittle kitten. Even though they’re talking about, you know rioting, setting stuff on fire, brawls. But it’s all in the name of anti-Trump that it’s, like, cool.

But outside their 9-to-5 jobs, they call themselves anarchists — bucking the system, shunning the government and sometimes even rioting and smashing windows to make a point.

“Former NSA experts say it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system.”

DNC leaksFrom The Nation, a little bait for the big fish to nibble on, with a huge hook in it.

There was no hack of the Democratic National Committee’s system on July 5 last year—not by the Russians, not by anyone else. Hard science now demonstrates it was a leak—a download executed locally with a memory key or a similarly portable data-storage device. In short, it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system. This casts serious doubt on the initial “hack,” as alleged, that led to the very consequential publication of a large store of documents on WikiLeaks last summer.

Notable Quote – Lt. Col Ralph Peters (ret.)

Lt. Col Ralph Peters (ret.)
Lt. Col Ralph Peters (ret.)

On a piece titled “Here’s how to take out North Korea’s nukes“, this caught my eye.  I believe it to be true (emphasis mine):

I fear we’ve forgotten what war means. That fear reached a peak a decade ago when American generals blithely repeated the indefensible claim that “counterinsurgency is warfare at the graduate-school level.” No. Counterinsurgency is Kindergarten (complete with political correctness nowadays). D-Day was a doctoral dissertation and the bombing campaign over Germany the preceding master’s thesis.

Even in a faux “marketplace”, people can still vote with their dollars

AFP-SHARE Tax ReformGiven that I just came home from the Americans For Prosperity NH’s (AFP) Tax Reform meeting at Pittman’s Freight Room in Laconia, this is appropriate.  I’ve said for years now that a free marketplace is one where people make decisions that benefit their own self-interest; if something does not add value to their lives, they won’t.  The true value of a free marketplace is that it is voluntary – WE decide and not anyone for us.

THAT MEANS IT’S WORKING: 6.5 million Americans chose to pay the fine rather than sign up for insurance on the Obamacare exchanges.

Insurance so good, people won’t even buy it under penalty of law.

In a real successful marketplace, people wouldn’t be forced to buy ANY product.

Media Noise Ignored

297599537-image-noise-malfunction-television-set-mouth-human

Sleep was just another opportunity to feel like a Bolshevik. But that is what they want, the believers, the steely ones, that is what they live for: the politicization of sleep. They want politics to be going on everywhere all the time, politics permanent and circumambient. They want the ubiquitization of politics; they want the politicization of sleep. — Amis, Martin,  Koba the Dread: Laughter and the Twenty Million

“They want politics to be going on everywhere all the time”, what does that remind you of? Safe spaces? Trigger words? Firing an employee for views not held by a company? Shouting down and silencing people whose view are not your own? Thought crimes?

This totally stinks of today. Where we’re demanded to accept that she is a he and he is a she and the use of the general neutral singular pronoun “he/his” is a slight. Where people wear black, assault people with views different from their own, damage and set ablaze other people’s property and then call themselves… anti-fascists? 2+2=5.

NH DHHS proposes taxpayer funding of sex change surgery

Burning USS Raleigh on NH State FlagBreaking news from Girard at Large,

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has proposed to eliminate the Medicaid rule that prohibits the program from funding sex reassignment surgeries.  Disturbingly, while the proposed rule change hasn’t even been heard yet, Girard at Large has obtained a letter sent by the department directly to a minor child enrolled in the NH Healthy Families program.  The child to whom this letter was addressed is 11 years old.

According to information contained on the department’s Rulemaking Notice Form:

This proposal amends the rule, by deleting paragraph (g), to remove the categorical prohibition of coverage of gender reassignment surgery.

Taxpayer funded sexual reassignment surgery. I wonder who’ll get behind that?

Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber: The “Memo” That Made The Media Flip Out

Google Minus

Did you hear about the deplorable memo some woman-hating Google engineer shared? The media being the media, redacted, cherry picked and excerpted their way into their very own echo chamber tizzy. In reality,

“… a major purpose of the memo was to brainstorm ideas about how to make Google a more friendly environment for women without resorting to explicit sex-based discrimination.”

But you don’t have to believe me, or The Federalist, or the Media. Read it for yourself.

Data Point – A credit card tipping point?

credit-card-1080074_640Thankfully, TMEW and I have no credit card debt but it seems like others are making up for our lack:

“Credit-card debt in the US rose in June, surpassing the peak set just before the 2008 financial crisis. Outstanding revolving credit, which includes credit-card debt, rose to $1.02 trillion in June, according to a monthly report from the Federal Reserve released Monday. But defaults are rising again for credit cards and auto loans.

NH Voter List – Are they that stupid or trying to be self-delusional?

Paperless OCRAfter almost 20 years of specializing in document management system, my first thought was “OCR, baby, OCR!”

OK, I think most readers here in NH know about the lawsuit concerning the NH voter list brought by the NH ACLU and NH State Rep Neal Kurk over sending that file to the Trump Administration’s election integrity commission.  Well, I guess there was a settlement in this kerfuffle:

NASHUA — The Secretary of State will proceed with the release of information from voter checklists to a presidential commission on election fraud, now that a lawsuit filed by two New Hampshire lawmakers and the ACLU to stop the release has been resolved.

NH Dem Party Chair Ray Buckley proves the stereotype “You WILL be made to care”

Ray Buckley
Ray Buckley

That last bit in the above headline was crafted by blogger and radio host Erick Erickson: “you WILL be made to care” about all kinds of “social justice” demands, nor can you be left alone. You will be forced to take a side, and if you try to be as neutral as Switzerland, you will be condemned. You WILL speak out FOR OUR ISSUE, or you will be excoriated. It isn’t “can’t we just all get along,” rather, it is a demand that you not only recognize but affirm our issue. We’ve been seeing this on college campuses for the last two years as we see these college student twit authoritarians-in-hatching demand that everyone MUST agree with us (Evergreen, Harvard, Mizzou, to just name three).

Here, Ray Buckley does EXACTLY that – acts the bully for his LGBTQrstuvwxyz agenda and seriously, who the heck can keep up with the unending morphing of one group into another as well as the always changing acronyms.

And the MSM keeps wondering why we hate them, more and more?

Encapsulated in one tweet:

Lyin Media

And this is why we call them “Democrats with bylines” – remember:

  • 95% of all newsroom political donations go to Democrats
  • When interviewing Conservatives or Libertarians, listen to the intensity of their voices and how they frame the questions – they are adversarial.  God forbid they use the same tenor or probing questions of Democrats.  Or, for that matter, Communists.

The MSM is not Liberty leaning at all.  When have you seen them actually promote full on bore individual freedom when they “report” on the news of the day or in opining?  Hardly at all, if at all.  No, their orientation is that of the Collective and in the idea that Govt knows best
