The Administrative State – as Progressives grew and grew government, they knew that they were coming up onto one of the mountain tops of the Progressive philosophy – a technocratic State “guiding” its subjects to a Utopia. For you see, they consider the rest of us to be dolts and deplorables who can’t cope with today’s modern world (which for them started in the 1880s) and must be under the care of a “scientific and non-partisan” bureaucratic set of “experts”. Who needs that pesky Constitution – it just gets in the way of getting things done. No, Progressives are Socialists that believe that the State is greater than the Individual and have been working to put this into action since then. Their capstone, which has allowed “Administrative Law” (e.g., rules and regulations) to go around Constitutional values, was the passage of the Administrative Procedure Act of 1946 that our Legislators gave their Power, in large degree, to the Executive Branch. Can you say “Legislation without Representation“?

An American Research Group poll found that if the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary were held today, Kasich would get 52 percent support, compared to Trump, who would receive just 40 percent.

MJ Decriminalization is Wrong Focus in Fight Against Addiction
Aren’t New Hampshire’s drug/addiction problems bad enough? How does decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana (MJ) reduce the number of addicts and associated costs? Decriminalization isn’t the answer to reducing our addiction problem.
Lacking personal experience, I refer to President Obama’s director of National Drug Control Policy’s, Michael Botticelli, December 13, 2015 interview on 60 Minutes.
Botticelli, a recovering alcoholic, is “not a fan of legalization” of MJ. He says MJ is linked to lower academic performance and lower IQs, that it exacerbates mental health problems, and that 1 in 9 MJ users become addicted to it.

The GOP ran on “repeal and replace” and raised millions of dollars from individual donors who believed in this promise. Politicians aren’t used to having to actually deliver on what they say on the campaign trail, but a Virginia attorney has filed suit against the Republican National Committee over the party’s failure to repeal and replace.
There’s always a reaction when promises aren’t kept. I’ve held for a while that we ought to be treating politics not as a separate entity but as another facet of the Marketplace. You want me to spend my political currency (i.e., my Vote) with you, you need to make the case that you are worth it. My Vote is very precious and rare, and I don’t wish to waste it on a sub-par product (as that is what a candidate is writ small and what a political party like the GOP is writ large). I’d rather NOT spend it if what the GOP is offering for a product is flawed, not up to par, or can reach my standard of excellence. And as a number of political wannabee candidates have found out, my ire has ramifications with other like minded conservatives and libertarians here in NH.

$15 Minimum Wage Hurts People, as Democrats Intend
Democrat politicians ooze concern for the poor and promise wonderful sounding policies to win the votes of gullible, ignorant, and willingly deceived people. But, in practice, Democrat policies hurt the people they are promised to help. The Democrat demanded $15 minimum wage hurts young, uneducated, unskilled, and/or part-time workers.
A recent University of Washington study reports that the increase to $13 on the way to implement Seattle’s (a wealthy city) $15 minimum wage law resulted in a 9% reduction in work hours, a 7% cut in jobs for the lowest wage earners, and an average $125 per month less take home pay. Nearby areas, not subject to Seattle’s $15 minimum wage law, didn’t suffer these job losses, business closings, and wage losses.
Celebrate the WWII Ending Atomic Bombs for the Millions of Lives Saved
War is horrible. People are killed, maimed, emotionally destroyed. Property is destroyed, wealth is consumed. As we saw in WWI, even the winners lose in protracted wars. As we’ve seen in Viet Nam and Iraq, trying to conduct a “gentle”, “compassionate”, or “politically correct” wars just prolongs the killing, suffering, destruction, and cost. If you must fight a war, the best way to lessen the suffering is to end the war as quickly as possible.
This is why the United States and Japan should celebrate the anniversaries of August 6 and 9, 1945. The atomic bombs we dropped on those dates quickly brought WWII to an end saving at least 150,000 American soldier’s lives and perhaps avoiding the extermination of the Japanese people.
WWII in the Pacific was particularly savage. The Japanese believed in death before dishonor, and surrender was considered dishonorable.

Construction of a Synagogue Banned Because it could be a Terrorist Target
A Sydney Australia suburb has prohibited the construction of a synagogue because it might become a target of ISIS. Talk about a win for Islamofascism.
The Land and Environment Court backed the decision by Waverley Council to prohibit the construction of the synagogue in Wellington St, Bondi — just a few hundred meters from Australia’s most famous beach — because it was too much of a security risk for users and local residents.

First, you have to imagine the fawning (local and national) wall-to-wall coverage this would get if a Republican governor left the GOP for the Democrat Party. Now, back to reality.
CBS was the only network in the Big Three to give the story anytime. But during CBS Evening News, Anchor Anthony Mason down played the development with a mere 13-second-long news brief:
The President is promising a big announcement at a rally this evening in West Virginia. Spoiler alert: The news is the governor of West Virginia is switching parties. Democrat Jim Justice is becoming a Republican.
Perhaps the party switch was too hard for ABC and NBC to swallow. Especially since the switch further solidified the Republican party’s dominance in the 50 states. With the affiliation swap of Governor Justice, the GOP now controls the governorship in 34 states.
I know nothing about Jim Justice, he could be a relative of Buford T., for all I know, but that hardly matters. The media’s treatment is what is most telling, remembering what would happen were it a Republican.
