Paul Mirski, in a public Facebook post, asks how anyone in New Hampshire with any understanding of how 400 years of Town meetings work would let illegal immigrants vote? To which I’d add, any non-resident of the town or state, including those who are pretending just long enough to cast an illegal ballot and then leave for the address listed on their government-issued ID or drivers license in another state.
Another American city succumbs to an all too common political resume-padding exercise, and the story remains the same. On January 1st, Flagstaff Arizona imposed an $11.00/hour minimum wage. The Daily Signal reports that the local Chamber of Commerce polled 200 local businesses about the forced increase and,
More than three-quarters (77 percent) of the companies expect it to have an effect on their businesses. More than half (53 percent) said it would force them to make undesirable adjustments, such as raising prices, decreasing work hours, or laying off employees, just to stay afloat.
Yep, it’s that time of year, and in my hamlet, only the BudComm has contested races – go figure! The “Gilford Democrats” are all up in arms thinking that the BudComm members are going to take the their School Board budget and almost all of them are on the Government payroll (or family members are). Joe Wernig, who takes a paycheck from the School Board, threatened the BudComm members that were up for re-election to the effect of “we WILL take your seats” during the Public Session for the budget. Concord, NH – Today the NH Senate adopted a bill, SB 500, amending references to firearms terminology with the unanimous consent of the body. SB 500 received the unanimous recommendation of Ought to Pass from the NH Senate Judiciary Committee.
“I am pleased this common-sense bill updating references to firearms terminology passed the Senate. The committee worked hard on the bill and ultimately came together to offer strong bipartisan support for these measures,” said Senator Kevin Avard (R-Nashua), the bill’s prime sponsor.
The US Department of Agriculture got busted using government property to “inspect” “meat” during work hours. And by ‘meat’ I mean porn.
Another federal agency is embroiled in a large-scale pornography scandal and in this case, it took leadership five months to block hundreds of websites used by employees and contractors to watch porn on government computers during work hours. It involves the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), a bloated agency notorious for wasteful spending and an eye-popping $140 billion budget.
“The BudComm is the last bastion to protect taxpayers wallets”; that’s what I say when asked what is the purpose of the Gilford Budget Committee. It takes into account, not just one or two “communities” within Gilford, but the entire community needs, wants – and what it can afford. While the Selectmen and School Board are concerned with their communities/functions, the BudComm is the only fiscal entity that takes everyone into account from the richest to the poorest, from the most active to those that just simply want to call Gilford “home” and otherwise wish to be left alone, and everyone else in between.
I am not surprised by these results. Bernie Sanders got a $14,500 slap on the wrist from the FEC for knowingly accepting Australian Labor Party workers for his primary campaign here in New Hampshire.
The Sanders campaign admitted, and facts show, his campaign knew they were getting a “thing of value” from the ALP because – they picked them up at the airport. The Australians didn’t hitch-hike here.
Hollywood’s Oscars Night Tanks as NRA Membership Skyrockets
The audience for ABC’s Sunday annual telecast of the Oscars declined for a fourth consecutive year, according to Nielsen data, dropping to an all-time low of 26.5 million viewers. The dip of nearly 20% from last year put it under the previous low of 32 million in 2008.
Not unexpected – when those that believe in the Democrat Progressive thesis that the American melting pot has swirled down the toilet bowl and MUST be replaced by their Identity Group Politics, why would they be surprised when their opposition takes up the same in their own defense? Did they believe that there would be no reaction – or did they expect only sheeple that would lay down and yelp “thank you, sirs, may I have another (classic Animal House reference)”?

The machinations of the Windham School Board concerning their Transgender Policy JBAB, for whatever reason, still bugs the heck out me. I really think that a lot of it is summed up in this part of the policy which does two dastardly actions:
To wit (emphasis mine):
C. Names/PronounsA student has the right to be addressed by a name or pronoun that corresponds to the student’s gender identity. A Court-order name or gender change is not required and the student need not change his or her official records. The intentional or persistent refusal to respect a student’s gender identity (for example, intentionally referring to the student by a name or pronoun that does not correspond to the student’s gender identity) is a violation of this policy.
“Live Free or Die“, the concept of Individual Liberty and Freedom, does not exist with Rob Breton, Dennis Senibaldi, Keleigh McAllister, and Daniel Popovici-Muller (Tom Murray, the only Conservative on the Windham School Board, voted against it seeing it for what it is – entrenching a Progressive morality and displacing Traditional Norms).
So, I just issued a second RSA 91-A Right To Know demand; I am pretty sure that it won’t be too well received:
Leftist groups had the media and pollsters showing a huge Democrat, and whoever else they let vote, turnout in Texas. The hype, as usual, was that Texas is finally going to turn left and vote for socialism.
But that isn’t what happened. The Democrats spent like crazy, hyped like crazy, acted crazy, and still they got whupped!

It’s darker, grittier, and more grounded. Still, the showrunner insists it’s still family fare. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Zack Estrin called it “a true family adventure in the vein of the original Jurassic Park” and said it’s designed to appeal to both nostalgic fans of the original series and newcomers who might want something a little less campy in their science fiction.
So, the kids in high schools (and lower) all want to have a breath of fresh air on Wednesday the 14th to commemorate the 17 lives that were lost in South Florida and to protest that they aren’t safe because a former (expelled) student shot up his classmates. Are they protesting him? Nope. Are they protesting the Broward County Sheriff whose deputies went to his house over 40 times because of alleged problems? Nope. Are they protesting the policy in which the Obama Administration paid off the county, the locals, and the school district to lower the stats of kids being arrested which allowed this sociopath to skip free? Nope. Are they protesting the cowardly deputies that stayed outside while he was killing his fellow students? Nope. Are they protesting all of this government failure that would have put him on the prohibited NICS list so that he couldn’t buy a gun in the first place?
Nope.
On February 24th we reported on a Purdue University online writing and grammar resource that tells students to avoid using words with ‘man’ in them because such terms are sexist. Well, someone didn’t like the Perdue Speech guide because they quietly changed it.
While the guide still suggests finding alternatives to these words, some substantial changes have been made … Instead of declaring that “writing in a non-sexist, non-biased way is both ethically sound and effective,” for instance, the guide now simply states that “writing without gender bias is sound and effective,” changing the section title to “gender-biased language” rather than “non-sexist language.
So Purdue managed to make”non-sexist” sound sexist. Nice work.

Again, I’m following up on the Op-Ed by Cornerstone post with the actual votes by Republicans. Here are the Republicans that voted against HB1532 ( “prohibiting gender reassignment surgery for minors.” – This means that House members want taxpayers to be forced to participate in irreversible and unnecessary surgery and chemical treatments for minors). Yet, the House voted to up the marriage age; young hetersexual marriage (before 16) bad but young (and younger) genital mutilation (because that’s what happens during reassignment and chemical treatments) is perfectly fine.
Do they ever think cohesively? As in one thing is chained to others?
So now the Republican are assisting the Democrats in shoving NH closer and closer to a broad-based tax? Jeb Bradley and Chuck Morse have all but said it by trying to show what was their MAHvelous Obamacare Medicaid Expansion plan into “managed care” plans (anyone else have a bad experience with HMOs in the past? Bueller? Bueller?) in trying to contain costs they incurred by shoving 50,000 additional able-bodied workers (many, many already covered by private insurance) onto the Public Dole. And now the R’s have decided that Federal / NH taxpayers are going to give up even more for what should be elective surgery (or at the least, their costs instead of our costs).
Today, the New Hampshire House of Representatives voted to pass House Bill 1319 (HB 1319), AN ACT prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity. The legislation was pushed based on the absolute lie that trans people don’t have the same protections against discrimination as everyone else in the state.
The out-of-state organization who pushed this legislation, and spent a lot of money doing so, lost their bid to push the law last session but some Republicans decided to resurrect the bill for some perceived political gain. Again, the bill is based on the lie that everyone doesn’t have the same protections against discrimination in New Hampshire.
What this law will really do is regress Women’s Rights back decades. For years, women fought for sex-based legal protections. There are a number of spaces and organizations that have benefitted women with these legal protections like bathrooms, locker rooms, domestic abuse shelters, rape centers and of course women-only organizations.
