That’s what I overheard a few years ago at our town’s Deliberative Session between two teachers who I later found out were union leaders.  OK, so they didn’t say that parenthetical phrase but as I have written before, the costs of our schools (all over the state) are far outstripping the growth in students.  Sure, some districts do have some population increases but most are not.  The upward costs are not being driven by those items that go directly to student – it is for ever-increasing teacher salaries.

I’ll ask: have you ever heard a union say “hey, we’ll take less because the kids need more paper, pens, pencils, art supplies, science supplies” and the like because it’s “for the children”?  I will say that I never have but certainly I’ve heard the kvetching from taxpayers (unless they or a family member are drawing a paycheck from said districts) lamenting that while THEIR take-home pay goes down (generally healthcare, taxes, et al) it always seems they have to pay more to make the teachers “whole”.  Fairness?  Nope – that’s what unions do – rent-seek from others beyond what they otherwise could do.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it dozens of times and more likely hundreds, there’s no such thing as hate speech. It doesn’t exist but in the minds of people looking for an opportunity to create a legal precedent to ban speech with which they disagree. Speech they hate.

The Democrats proved this repeatedly by either their open support or stubborn refusal to denounce individuals, groups or actions that use violence and intimidation to silence speech (that contradicts their worldview). And in January Germany did something for which the American left is desperate. The government implemented a law that allows those in power to decide what is hateful and make tech companies remove it from the internet.

Yesterday, there was a “National Walkout Day” held by students across the country. The walkout was supposedly to remember the 17 students who were killed in Parkland, Florida. While many students did indeed honor these students, others chose to use the walkout to push for gun control.

These students have every right to be frustrated and angry that their government completely failed to protect them, over and over again. There were armed guards at the school but they weren’t at the door, watching as students came into the building. The police who showed up at the shooting, didn’t even go into the building to stop the killer. Yes, these students have every right to be angry.

Unfortunately, their anger has been co-opted and re-directed by the left. Rather than direct them to demand they be protected like court houses, state houses and congress, the left is pushing them to demand more gun control on law-abiding citizens and the Women’s March, who has completely co-opted the “movement,” is actually telling students to demand they become LESS safe in their schools.

An effort by Democrats to use public schools as a wedge issue to disarm law abiding citizens failed in the New Hampshire Senate this week.

In a party-line vote, the Senate Education Committee voted down an amendment that would have allowed individual school boards to prohibit guns on school grounds and school buses.

I sent a Right to Know request to NH’s Secretary of State asking for an opportunity to review public documents regarding how many non-citizen Green Card holders are on the NH Statewide Checklist. Each state is required to keep track of that small item. The non-citizen Green Gard holders who are voting would then, supposedly, be “caught.”

It would be a nice number to have if you wanted to look at any possible voter fraud in our state – being that non-US citizens are not supposed to be voting in any of our elections – as of this time. Our NH State Supreme Court might find a new right to vote for non-US citizens in the future but as of now, we are just letting non-NH citizens vote for us.

The New Hampshire house took up HCR 11 today, A Resolution urging a pardon of Gerald “Jerry” DeLemus. Why?

The court tossed out the government’s case because it (basically) hid evidence and lied. Gerry is only sitting in prison because the prosecutor badgered him into a plea deal before that ruling was ever made and he is now stuck there.

HCR11 was nothing more than a resolution stating that the NH House would like the Government to consider a pardon, given the circumstances. The NH House said no. Hell No, and goodnight.

Democrats throw ($*!t) at the wall until something sticks, and they never seem to have a shortage of the stuff. Case in point. SenateBill 466 was issued the day after NH Ed. Commissioner Frank Edelblut responded to a vapid tweet from Executive Councilor turned congressional Candidate Pajama-Boy Chris Pappas.

The State Democrat Party, who were naturally in on the sting operation, actually said out loud that they didn’t want (Edelblut) transforming the department of education into a political weapon.

That is damn funny, but the goal and the agenda are not, and people need to take note.

Student Walk-outs from School took place all across the nation. Watching the Lame Stream Media, one would think this was an epic effort. Well, It was. This wasn’t an individual effort reflecting student’s voices. No, this was an event organized by left wing teachers and school administrators all across the nation.

I received a phone call from my daughter yesterday afternoon. She lives in Pennsylvania. She was angry. The kids came home from school and shared that their teachers, “compelled them,” to participate in a “march to memorialize the students lost at Parkland.” The kids weren’t given an option not to participate.
