The Gilford School Board’s Policy JBAB has a “Privacy” section that assigns yet ANOTHER “Right” to a minor child that tells the Staff to NOT tell Parents about the Transgender Status of that child while on school grounds.
It is ONE of the two points for which the District has not coughed up which NH State Statute gives them the Power (in this Dillon’s Rule State) to do that:
A. Privacy
The Gilford School Board recognizes a student’s right to keep private one’s transgender status or gender non-conforming presentation at school. Information about a student’s transgender status, legal name, or gender assigned at birth also may constitute confidential information. School personnel should not disclose information that may reveal a student’s transgender status or gender non-conforming presentation to others, including parents and other school personnel, unless legally required to do so or unless the student or parent has authorized such disclosure. Transgender and gender non-conforming students have the right to discuss and express their gender identity and expression openly and to decide when, with whom, and how much to share private information. When contacting the parent or guardian of a transgender or gender non-conforming student, school personnel should use the student’s legal name and the pronoun corresponding to the student’s gender assigned at birth unless the student, parent, or guardian has specified otherwise.
In other words, LIE TO PARENTS! How much clearer can it be?
And of course, they are “following the ideology” instead of “follow the science” as well (sex/gender is determined at conception and not “assigned at birth” by some clerk with a clipboard. But the major issue is lying to Parents (omission, commission) with the “School personnel should not disclose information that may reveal a student’s transgender status or gender non-conforming presentation to others, including parents.”
The Manchester School District has just about the same wording. Exeter School District has a similar bent as does any other NH School Board that has accepted the NHSBA’s “transgender template” as gospel.
WHY DO SCHOOLS HATE PARENTS? WHY DO SCHOOLS BELIEVE THE KIDS BELONG TO THEM? WHY ARE SCHOOLS TRYING TO BREAK UP FAMILIES?????
Because they are Power Hungry over others, they are deliberately overreaching their original “mission” and position within Society. They believe THEY have a mandate to change our Society – all on their own. The Law, to them, doesn’t matter. They are a Law all unto themselves. But now, with court cases being brought by Parents, they may well be getting a hard and bitter lesson as to who REALLY is in charge (despite their denials).
So why is NH acting like California? Oh yeah, the ideology on all of those School Boards (). Just WAIT until these legal challenges, in Exeter and Gilford and soon to be in Manchester, start getting traction, and Parents start winning.
After all, the Spreckels Union School District (SUSD) (previously blogged here and here) is about to get its butt kicked. ALL of the NH Districts ought to be sitting up and taking notice.
And, perhaps, go after the NHSBA for giving them the Constitutionally flawed (IMHO) policy in the first place.
Here’s a little reminder why from Harmeet Dhillon, who is suing the District over those two teachers at those links at the Buena Vista Middle School (abstracted, reformatted, emphasis mine):
A mother of a student has taken legal action against a school district in Salinas, Calif., over policies she claims allowed two teachers at Buena Vista Middle School to secretly brainwash her teenage daughter into identifying as bisexual, and later as transgender.
Jessica Konen blasted members of the Spreckels Union School District (SUSD) at a board meeting in mid-December, claiming the teachers, who ran a LGBTQ+ club during lunch-hour, “coached” her then sixth-grade daughter to change her gender identity and use a masculine name and pronouns at school.
Sidenote: Sounds like Manchester.
And the admonition:
“Supreme Court precedent has made clear that parents have a fundamental right to direct the upbringing and education of their children, and their right is denied to them when schools keep secrets from parents, especially on matters as foundational as a child’s identity, name [and] pronouns,” she said.
“That’s what happened to our clients. This is a violation of the clients’ civil rights—the parent and the child. Every parent has a right to know what’s going on at school.” Dhillon accused SUSD and Buena Vista Middle School of adopting a “parental secrecy policy,” to keep parents in the dark about certain information regarding students’ gender expression and identity.
There can only be one reason why any School District is doing this, and the NSBA’s letter to the Biden Administration lays it out plainly: Parents are domestic terrorists.
We are coming up on School Board elections for most NH Towns. WHO is running for those open seats on School Boards? Are they “schoolies” that believe that your kids should be taken from you once they are on school grounds? That they agree that the SCHOOLS should raise your children – and that Parents are impediments to that “overreach mission”?
Or candidates that believe your kids are YOUR responsibility, that you have that Constitutional Right to be responsible for their upbringing and education? That you DO have the place to demand from your Elected Representatives answers to your questions when asked at Public Meetings? That here in NH, their conduct, operations, and Policies MUST point to a State Law that gives them the Powers to do what they do – or stop doing them when there isn’t? That you have a say in what is being taught to your children and that it should never, EVER be at odds with how you are raising them, with YOUR outlook, with YOUR Morality, based on YOUR philosophy and religious beliefs
That they won’t keep secrets from you as a Parent?
In 53 (plus/minus) towns, a group called Defend Our Kids is working for you. We have found and are supporting the latter kinds of candidates – and working hard to unseat the former.
