“Socialism Is a Good Idea, but It Has Failed in the past Because It Has Been Badly Done” …

“It turns out that there is a lot of truth to the stereotype of the woke socialist millennial/Zoomer. The overwhelming majority of young people really do express stridently anti-capitalist views across a broad range of issues.

“Seventy to 80 per cent believe that capitalism fuels climate change, racism, greed, materialism, and runaway housing costs. Similar proportions support nationalisations and rent controls. Young people associate “capitalism” primarily with exploitation, unfairness, corporations, and the rich, while associating “socialism” primarily with terms such as “workers”, “equal”, “public”, “fair”, “communal”, and, yes, “Jeremy Corbyn” (no, this is not over).

Virtually nobody associates socialism with the erstwhile showcase of “21st century socialism”, Venezuela. On the contrary, 75 per cent agree with the statement that “socialism is a good idea, but it has failed in the past because it has been badly done (for example in Venezuela)” – the old cliché that “real” socialism has “never been tried”. “

Sure, never been tried. This is because history never shows ANY attempt at Socialism as being successful – yet another reason why History isn’t taught to our youngsters.

Socialism, being the religion of envy and bitterness, CAN’T succeed because it doesn’t wish to understand basic human psychology.

Sure, they can manipulate it but deep down, they can’t change it. Just like the Left says that “we are more evolved than that” (whatever “that” is) as if it were true that we’ve transcended our base instincts.

No, humans haven’t.  Yes, in some places, we do have the veneer of civilization, but just a veneer. It doesn’t take much to rip that off in a hurry.

It’s all about Power – the gaining and keeping of that above others. Here in the US, our Founders to CONFOUND that process by compartmentalizing where the Power lays, and who has access to it. Socialism is just a dogfight to get to the top – rough and brutish.

Capitalism really is an act of voluntary exchange of Value in which each side believes THEY have received the greater value (“I want that which you have MORE than the money I have”). Socialism ends up with goods and services being politically apportioned by the Powerful at the top, with those AT the top being more equal than others – another reason why our youngsters are ill schooled (Animal Farm, which used to be required reading, probably is just a zoo name for most).
