I just bought two containers of Aunt Jemima syrup yesterday at Walmart. No, not that “rebranded out of fear of the PC Cancel crybabies” Pearl Milling Company version.

The Grandson has finally discovered breakfast and loves the syrup over his toasted Eggo chocolate chip waffles. I now have a new duty in the morning. But, I digress.
But like Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben and Mia the Indian Maiden, the “Redskin,” tomahawk chop, the Chiefs, the Braves, Indian, Blackhawk, Eskimo (both the team and the ice cream bar) Cancel-All-Indian Movement continues.
And continues self-induced. Even though studies have shown that most Native Americans are not bothered by any of it.
Sidenote: I’m not an immigrant – I am native-born here in America. I’m a Native American. Mom and Dad, too. Grandparents on both sides, not so much. And not so much if you really go back in history as the PC police keep yammering that we’re all immigrants at one time. Bad logic but I’ll go with it here because STUPIDITY.
SHOT: Chief of Cherokee Nation Says ‘It’s Time’ for Jeep to Stop Using Name
Jeep has been using Cherokee as a model name since the mid-1970s, but its next generation of vehicles arrives during a heightened national discussion of racial and social justice issues.
“I’m sure this comes from a place that is well-intended, but it does not honor us by having our name plastered on the side of a car,” Chuck Hoskin, Jr., principal chief of the Cherokee Nation, told Car and Driver in a written statement responding to our request for comment on the issue. “The best way to honor us is to learn about our sovereign government, our role in this country, our history, culture, and language and have meaningful dialogue with federally recognized tribes on cultural appropriateness.”
…Jeep has been building cars that wear the Cherokee Nation’s name for more than 45 years.

Jeep Responds After Chief of Cherokee Nation Says ‘It’s Time’ for Vehicle Name Change
…“Our vehicle names have been carefully chosen and nurtured over the years to honor and celebrate Native American people for their nobility, prowess, and pride. We are, more than ever, committed to a respectful and open dialogue with Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin, Jr.,” the company told Car and Driver.
Considering the BILLIONS of marketing and branding that goes, I’m not surprised at the non-answer but Jeep knows, given how strong this Cancel Movement has become.
If Jeep gives in, well, stupid them. If they are given another chance, these self-assured incompetents will cave to the next set of never-satisfied SJWs.
What they should do is what Hyatt is now doing – telling those out there that are trying to start a boycott of Hyatt (because they hosted CPAC) to politely stuff themselves – they aren’t going to play that game and then alienate half their customer base.
See, that’s the problem – WE are half of the universe of consumers. The problem is that we don’t complain as much (sometimes, not at all) as the other side. Right now, being the Silent Majority gets no points – just gets you punched. Instead, we ought to be figuratively answering back and playing the exact same game they are. Bullies hate it when, after thinking they’ve gotten the best of you, you bloody their noses.
Tangent:
TMEW and I bought a Chief Cherokee when we bought our first house in MA – it was on a short dirt road and not well maintained. I actually loved it but the only downside is that you still had to go outside the vehicle to lock / unlock the hubs in the front to go to/from 4 wheel drive. And it helped save her and the Eldest new life – she went into labor early and I had to drive to the hospital in a blinding blizzard. They stabilized her and then unborn Eldest. An hour to the hospital but then 3 hours back. Just as I arrived home (they stayed), the phone rang: they were transferring her to (then) Womens and Brighams in Boston. Four hours later back to the hospital – and I just caught the ambulance just as it was leaving.
Without that Cherokee and 4-wheel, I may have well lost them both as a regular car wasn’t going to make that trip in the time that was needed AND still be safe.
Go ahead, Chief Haskell, make your tribe disappear!
I really don’t understand this and I’ve said it before – if you are self-erasing, especially given how the Progressives are changing history, most people won’t even know you exist (in a few years). If there is no remembrance, people and happenings in history slowly just fade to black and then disappear. They see this as nothing but a series of slights (given the Democrat background of Haskell, of COURSE, he’s making himself a victim). ON the other hand, I’d be seeing it as an opportunity to push BETTER recognition and to get MORE historical info out there.
But, bad decisions have bad consequences.
What was that name…..again?
