Stasi: The East German Secret Police: An Overview, written on January 30th summarized how the “Ministerium für Staatssicherheit,” (MfS) operated from 1950 to 1989. Colloquially known as the, “Stasi,” this was one of the most effective and repressive secret police agencies ever to have existed.
Zersetzung: Biodegradation
The fifties and sixties in the GDR brought secret arrests, repression, physical torture and imprisonment. German civil law required warrants for detention and surveillance. Despite that, the Stasi regularly surveilled its citizens, arrested them surreptitiously and held them without charge or cause.
The 1970’s saw monumental concern from the Party apparatchik of the GDR over its international image on the world stage. Consequently, the Stasi sought to retool their operations to be more subtle with their repression. The birth of, “Zersetzung,” sought to provide the East German State with a more positive face in the international community.
Zersetzung in America
Zersetzung means,”biodegradation.” Out with the secret arrests, beatings and torture. Enter the “Cancel Culture.” 
The Stasi would literally, “cancel,” a citizen of the GDR. The Stasi surreptitiously created conflict in employment, attacked reputations, create conflict in friendships and personal relationships, and created rift in marriages. Isolating and destroying the target was the goal of Zersetzung. Frequently, the targets eventually committed suicide.

While the Democrats (and let us be clear, some Republicans) engage in a fraudulent impeachment of former President Trump, the narrative engaged to move this action forward is telling. The Police and Surveillance state is well upon us. The infrastructure is present. The left, now in power need only formalize a State Security apparatus.
Will Amazon and UPS-like trucks be used as foils for when people are apprehended by the Secret Police? They have become ubiquitous in our communities. The Stasi used Bakery Trucks, and Fruit trucks as vehicles, visiting their targets in the early morning hours to snatch arrestees.
The Stasi serves as a template of the most repressive intelligence and secret police agencies ever to have existed. In America, it is hard to fathom that we now bear witness to some of the early infrastructure making this sort of secret police force possible.
