CDC Mandates Masks Nationwide on All Public Transporation and Some Private (Rideshare).

The Center for Dystopian Chaos (CDC) has released new rules for the peasants. Ye shall wear a mask (over nose and mouth) on any conveyance or at or in any transportation hub. Air, bus, train, cab, and even rideshare services will be expected to enforce the rules.

The mask cultists have upped their game here, and this smells like Obiden Administration influencing. We had this thing we said we’d do, but hey, why not let the CDC do it and we can nod and smile and give our approval for the good of public health.

Yesterday, the CDC issued an eleven-page order that required people to wear masks “while on conveyances and at transportation hubs.” The order does not apply in jurisdictions that have requirements that are equivalent to, or more stringent than, the federal mandate.

I guess Joe is backtracking on the whole, “there’s nothing we can do to change the trajectory of the pandemic for the next few months” rhetoric. This is, literally, trying to do something to change it and using government force to do it.

Reason.com has a nice summary of the restrictions. Here’s a few of them.

(1) Persons must wear masks over the mouth and nose when traveling on conveyances into and within the United States. Persons must also wear masks at transportation hubs as defined in this Order.

(2) A conveyance operator transporting persons into and within the United States must require all persons onboard to wear masks for the duration of travel.

(3) A conveyance operators operating a conveyance arriving at or departing from a U.S. port of entry must require all persons on board to wear masks for the duration of travel as a condition of controlled free pratique.

Operators are encouraged to explain the new rules to obtain compliance and deny access to anyone who refuses, including children 2 and older (assuming they are not excluded).

This is a national mask mandate issued by a federal agency, and the only circumstance where it does not apply would be jurisdictions with similar or stricter requirements.

And as noted above, they have rolled private rideshare services into the mandate.  If you are working for Uber, Lyft, or even yourself, the feds have declared themselves your mask overlords.

It does not require you to wear more than one mask. And Fauci has had to admit that there is no research to support it. But you can wear more than one mask if it makes you feel better.

Talk about milking the fear complex.

As to the CDC transportation “rules,” mission creep is inevitable. Agencies do not give back power (earned, apportioned, or stolen). You have to wrest it from them, but no one running anything in DC has any inclination to do that; this is how they intend to rule.

As we’ve noted often enough, the bureaucracy is a border wall that serves to protect elected politicians from responsibility for anything. They can listen and pretend they care, then pretend to act, but blame business as usual for any failure to gain traction in any direction other than the one they favored all along.

That means this mandate could easily expand to more spaces and places, and we should expect that.

“No mask mandate” sanctuary policies to protect citizens from Obiden Administration overreach, anyone?

Anyone?
