They Might Not Be Experts at Anything but Abusing Authority.

I’ve continued to craft these Threat Index Updates since Dec 14th. Tracking cases – this is, after all, a casedemic now – and comparing that mission-critical data to what really matters; hospitalizations and deaths—no scary headlines. We want to know what your odds are of surviving a positive test.

Okay, maybe my headline is scary. But not the way we typically see with stories about COVID19. But at least it’s true. And if you are under 70 and healthy in NH, you have next-to-nothing to fear from this flu. Treat it like any other. If things go sideways as they sometimes do, seek medical attention. Most of us will have no symptoms, mild symptoms, or may experience body aches, fevers, headaches, coughing, sneezing, or exhaustion; you know the drill.

I’ve had a few cases of flu roll into pneumonia in the past, and that’s no picnic but only required rest, fluids, OTC meds for fever and symptoms. None recently, not for 15 years – yes, something changed, my job. So always be aware of respiratory considerations even if you are healthy.

If you smoke, work around a lot of dust, exhaust, or particulates, you are more susceptible to flu and pneumonia. You’re an adult, we trust you to make these decisions yourself.

And there are other types of flu to catch besides COVID19, so that it could be one of those as well. Kids are less susceptible to SARS CoV2 but more to traditional influenza. The same rules apply. If you are comorbid and high-risk, take matters seriously. If you develop serious or lasting symptoms, call your doctor and ask them to advise you.

Everyone else, get back to whatever it is you do except that the state or your town or city might not let you. Not the way you’d like.

Many of us have been so terrified by the media and politicians that we can’t see past that to this.

You wear a mask in your car by yourself. Are you afraid you’ll self-infect? We’ve published data that suggests wearing that mask too much could do that. We’ve shared much of that forbidden science that is just as relevant but contradicts the preferred political narratives.

We also publish this, as advertised, every day (on Facebook, and now our other social media platforms).

Total positive cases compared to reported hospitalizations and deaths using state data. Simple math. If cases matter, well, actually, they don’t. Most people who test positive have nothing to fear.

And still, the fear exists. From where? People in power. People who feel the need to control you, your business, employees, customers, family, and life.

When you look at the numbers, does it occur that they might not be experts at anything but abusing their authority?

Please consider that.

You can find the December Threat Index Updates (12/14 to 12/31) in this post.
