Blogline of the Day – Credibility

by Skip

Over at my post “Democrat Unity Means Let’s Boot Half of Republicans From Congress” comes the Blogline of the Day from commenter NITZAKHON:

I’d sooner believe a streetwalking hooker praising chastity, fidelity, modesty than believe a Democrat praising the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

They may be some but they certainly aren’t among, as Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit says, our “Ruling Class” (the “worst ever” he generally adds as well). Certainly what we have seen this summer and up to now justifies that line. After all (from my evergreen “Progressives and The Proper Role of Government – and your subservience to it.”

  • NH State Rep. Sandra Keans (R, now D): “I don’t try to justify anything by the Constitution, it’s not my job and I don’t want to do it”.

So if the Constitution doesn’t matter to them, why should their laws matter to us? Using that as a definition, given some of the Bills that Governor Sununu that are blatantly unconstitutional (e.g., Article 28-a, for starters), he’s in that same category.
