The Tale of Two Conventions “One angry and miserable, the other optimistic and grateful”

MAGA Hat As Free Speech

The Democrats Zoom convention was almost as bad as their House impeachment. Trump’s numbers improved during both, a bit more during the House Circus than the Zoom circus. Not a good sign for a party that says it can lead a Nation that likes it less every time it does anything on a big stage.

As if matters needed to be worse, the Democrats put forth their most radical left-wing platform in history at the convention. It passed, but roughly 25% of the delegates voted against it because it was not radical enough.

“The DNC revealed over the weekend that  3,562 delegates voted to approve the platform, while a total of 1,069 voted no, and 87 abstained,” Fox reported.

“The number of convention delegates who voted no is roughly the same as the number of delegates pledged to progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Patricia McCarthy, in, “Two conventions, one angry and miserable, the other optimistic and grateful,” notes,

The difference in tone between the Democrat and Republican conventions could not be more distinct.  The four days of the Democrat infomercial were characterized by misery and anger.  Not one of the Democrat speakers even smiled.  They made it clear, each and every one of them, that they hate this country.

McCarthy catalogs the grumpy, sullen, endless plotting of the left and how Biden will be Bernie’s puppet. The whole lot of them miserable about life mad at America, and as we’ve noted earlier, blaming you.

On the flip side, the GOP convention was the opposite.

The speakers on the first night of the Republican convention were from an altogether different planet. They represented those of us who love this country, who know that it is not a racist nation. Every speaker had a story to tell, and all of the stories were a powerful expression of why those who told them love America and are grateful for what this country means to them.

If the choice comes down to you suck and it’s your fault, or we’re amazing, and together we can be even better, Democrats will have themselves another ugly November to remember. Topped off with more childish knee-jerk hate-infested riots if they lose or lose badly.

I’m not sure how wrecking Democrat-run cities and making Black Americans feel less safe wins them votes or sympathy, but that’s been the program for months, and they seem committed to it. Not that this will be a reason for their defeat should they fall short.

It will come down to simple human nature. And I’m no expert but telling people to vote for you because they suck and you’ll fix them is not a great strategy. Telling them that they are great and together we can be greater, even if you are skeptical about having smoke blown up your skirt, makes you feel better, and wins more votes.

And in a few weeks we will find out.
