Police Associations in US Cities Form SuperPAC to Oppose “Defund Politicians”

Several police associations in major cities have gotten together to form The Protect and Serve PAC, based in Fort Worth Texas. It will be looking to get involved in contests where they can move the needle away from candidates running to defund the police.

The mission of this PAC will be to engage in races where there is a clear distinction between candidates who embrace the disastrous policy of “defunding the police” and those who recognize the central role law enforcement plays in keeping our cities and neighborhoods safe.

The PAC’s founder synthesizes the problem down when he says, “It is outrageous that some American cities are now seeing decades of crime-fighting progress evaporate, leaving residents exposed to violent crime.”

Democrat mayors are letting street criminals out of jail, including those with long rap-sheets detained for gun-crimes, assaults, and rape. They have gleefully joined the rioting and looting and mingled among “protesters” in search of opportunity. The result? Crime in these cities has risen by hundreds of percent, erasing decades of improvements.

That is not what people want, no matter what color their skin. Recent numbers from Gallup paint that picture.

A new Gallup poll released Wednesday shows an overwhelming majority of black Americans, 81 percent, support either the same amount or an increased police presence in their communities.

The survey, conducted June 23 – July 6, showed 61 percent of black Americans supported police spending the same about of time in their neighborhoods while 20 percent wanted law enforcement to spend more time in their streets. Nineteen percent said police should spend less time in their community.

Eighty-one percent is a significant number.

But Democrats, entertainment, media, journalism, and professional sports are hitching their wagon to a group whose primary interest runs opposite the results of this poll, and others. Groups like BLM promote defunding and the destruction of family values but “the community” is sending a different message.

The root of all this evil

Yes, there is always room for a conversation about budgets and resources and allocations and reform. But what we need to discuss is Democrats. In the middle of angry protests and riots (supposedly) about protecting black life, minorities are getting injured and killed; their businesses destroyed all in the name of protecting them from a system these same democrats have been running for decades.

As I have noted elsewhere, the solution is not defunding the police. It is defunding Democrats. But Democrats are very well funded, so we’ll just have to convince people to vote them out of office.

Given that every defund politician I’m aware of is a Democrat it sounds like that is what The Protect and Serve PAC will be doing as well.
