The Underlying Question: “If You Go to Walmart, Why Can’t You Go to the Polls?”

Vote by mail

I had this conversation with TMEW last night. Her answer was people are scared. I quoted her some stats (like here) along with mortality rates; she was unmoved.

My take?

The MSM, with an especially rude Hat Tip to WMUR, always open their broadcast with the grim statistics. You know, if it bleeds, it leads. Especially when it is about the Red States.

Sidenote: is anyone else besides me “all done” with the newsreaders on WMUR’s news shows proudly patting themselves on the back for using their most beloved phrase, “Social Distancing,” almost in every other sentence? As if, after six months, we’re mere children and have to be reminded how to stand? “Poor little dears, we have to keep telling them what to do – and think”.  I really do wish that Bill Binnie didn’t have to have sold his spectrum slot…

It has completely skewed the general population on how they think about the WuFlu. But in this case, I have to say that WMUR is outdoing itself in trying to maintain the illusion that we HAVE to do all this stuff for the polls to be safe – but you have to vote using the mail. Sorry, but not both of those are correct.

You’ll never hear them say “The masks we keep telling you to wear to keep you and others safe will keep you safe enough to go to the polls.” In fact, in covering for the Dems vote-by-mail, it’s “The masks we keep telling you to wear to keep you and others safe aren’t safe enough so vote by mail”.

It’s as if the polls will automagically pulverize any “safety” that the masks had before arriving at the polls – but also “automagically” resume being useful as soon as you leave the polls.

Ayup…
