Preserving our Constitutional Republic

The latest revelations of the Susan Rice memo to herself in the early stages of the attempted coup against the Trump administration before the President even took office has brought to mind the critical importance of the necessity of not only re-electing the President but also maintaining, and perhaps increasing, control of the US Senate.

Senator Mitch McConnell, working with the President and The Federalist Society, has done a fantastic job of filling vacancies in our federal courts with liberty-loving strict constitutional conservatives.

But during the next 4-years, we are likely to see at least one, and perhaps two, vacancies on the Supreme Court of the United States, and the justices selected to fill those vacancies will have a major effect on our lives for generations to come. And that is true even without considering that nearly all federal cases do not ever reach the SCOTUS but rather are decided in the Courts of Appeal.

Keep in mind that to serve as a justice of the Supreme Court of the United States you do not have to be a lawyer, and once confirmed you have life tenure unless later impeached. There has never been a successful impeachment of SCOTUS justice in the history of our country.

And now that, compliments of Harry Reid, confirmation of Supreme Court justices is done by a simple majority vote in the Senate, that opens up a lot of bizarre possibilities. Letting our imagination run a little wild, let’s consider who might be on a short list for appointment to the Supreme Court by a Democrat President, whether Biden or someone of his ilk. How about one or more of the following:

Susan Rice
Eric Holder
Deval Patrick
Kamala Harris
Huma Abedin
Hillary Clinton
William Jefferson Clinton
Michelle Obama
Barack Hussein Obama
Maxine Waters
James Comey
Peter Strzok
Lisa Page

John Brennan
Al Green

Preposterous you say! Could never happen you say!

Well, about as preposterous as electing, and re-electing, as president of the US a one-term senator from Illinois whose only work experience was as a “community organizer.”

The only way to avoid the possibility of such a cataclysmic disaster in the near future is to make sure that the president is re-elected and that Senator Shaheen is replaced by a solid Republican.
