This:
“Xi Jinping is not a dictator. He has to satisfy his constituents or he's not going to survive,” @MikeBloomberg told @FiringLineShow in September when defending China’s efforts to tackle pollution . https://t.co/6zIDuMY4py

Not a dictator? Xi had his rubber-stamp National People’s Congress change the Chinese Constitution in 2018 to make him President for life. (Formerly Chinese dictators … oops, I mean Presidents … were term-limited (two five-year terms), with the Communist Party naming their successors.)
And Xi is not just a dictator; he is a tyrannical and often barbaric dictator as well. According to Human Rights Watch:
It’s hard to believe Bloomberg is unaware of all this. It appears that he’s willing to look the other way because he believes that government should have unlimited power to pursue what government considers best for “its” people.
Here is Bloomberg explaining that high taxes are good for poor people because government can spend their money much more wisely than they can. “When we raise taxes on the poor, it’s good because then the poor will live longer because they can’t afford as many things that kill them.”
So good to know that Chairman Bloomberg … oops, I mean President Bloomberg … has our best interests at heart. Such a benevolent fascist.
