Divorced parents arguing over custody is nothing new. But this case caught the nation’s attention. The mom wanted to transition her son to be a girl. She’d been working on it for years. Dad, not so much. He said she said, courts and lawyers later and “James” made a choice of his own.
James Younger, the boy at the center of a contentious separation, appears to have decided he is a boy.

The case attracted attention when a judge ordered the boy’s father not to impose a male identity on his son after a jury awarded the mother full custody. The media wind machine kicked in, politicians got involved, and at some point, the judge overruled the jury and granted joint custody.
We should add that there are reports that the father is of questionable character though we’ve not pursued that. The question was and is, parents forcibly transitioning children who have no say in the matter.
My position has been that adults can pretend to be whomever they like and pay for the drugs and surgery to turn make-believe into “reality.” I really do not care. Contrary to Democrat demands, however, taxpayers should not be on the hook for elected procedures or hormone therapies.
Nor should parents be poisoning their kids with chemicals to make them into something they were not a birth. It is, in my opinion – and that of others – child abuse.
As per James, at least at present, he appears content to be a boy. And no, the case is not over. Lawyers are trying to get the judge recused so they can find a new one who will agree to give the mother full custody, and presumably, the right to make her son into a girl.
She already has a few of those. I’m not sure why she thinks she needs another one. But this could fit the earlier profile of parents who have Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.
It’s still child abuse. Let them grow up, and when they are old enough, they can decide for themselves.
