First we had the newly minted millionaire Bernie Sanders grumbling about billionaires Tom Steyer and now Michael Bloomberg in the Democrat Primary. And now millionaire Elizabeth “You didn’t build that” Warren is doing the same thing:
Warren Slams Bloomberg 2020 Run: Billionaires Shouldn’t ‘Come and Buy Elections’
Democratic 2020 candidate Elizabeth Warren took aim at her newest rival over the weekend, slamming former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s presidential bid as an attempt to “buy” the election. “Elections should not be for sale. Not to billionaires. Not to corporate executives. We need to build a grassroots movement,” the Massachusetts senator said Saturday at a New Hampshire town hall.
“We have a country that works great for billionaires. Works great for corporate executives,” Warren said. “But it’s not working for the rest of America. And if the only way that Democrats can pick a nominee is to go to the billionaires and corporate executives, then we’re going to have a country that keeps working better and better for those at the top.”
Yeah, well you’re in the 1% range too, deary, so unless you are willing to donate or give away all your money, you’re a hypocrite. This is nothing but class envy on steroids – the battle between the 1% and the 0.01%. Most academics seem to believe they should have a higher status in Society than what they actually have – perfect fit for them to embrace Socialism whereby they THINK they’d have a better shot at the top than in our capitalist system.
I also bet she’s miffed that while she’s been a Senator for a time, these “crass” money-grubbers (for all her whining about being a capitalist, she’s not as she wants Government to TIGHTLY control every aspect of how companies work), actually achieved their wealth mostly the old fashioned way (Bloomberg with innovative financial information tools and Steyer, well, hedging on fossil fuels) are now horning in on “her” political turf. And with her poll numbers cut in half, she’s flailing at anything to throw shade.
Look, I think that Steyer is a hypocrite for having made his billions in fossil fuel. Bloomberg legitimately created products and services that actually served people (made their lives easier) and people voluntarily bought LOTS of them (but I hate the idea that because he was that successful, he’s “God’s gift to the rest of us”, he earned his title of Nanny Bloomberg in trying to boss other peoples’ lives for them). But Warren has made a big part of her impact telling everyone that they’ve done nothing to earn anything they’ve done.
These two rivals just show how wrong she is.
She’s just ticked that THEY have the money she believes she should have had. And now they are going to use that cash to BURY her. Good for them.
But I won’t vote for them – they stand for almost nothing that I can believe in politically. Simply put, they want Government to run our lives for us regardless of our own desires. So does she but she’s seeing her dream being crushed. Hey, suck it up, buttercup!
Millionaires attacking billionaires. Yep, so much for the old, white, rich folks at the top of the Democrat Party Primary.
