Remember, Debra Altschiller isn’t just a NH State Rep; her husband, Howard, is the Editor of the Seacoast Media Group (e.g., The Portsmouth Herald, The Exeter News-Letter, The Hampton Union, York County Coast Star, and the The York Weekly). His business DEPENDS on the First Amendment clauses of Free Speech and Freedom of the Press. And here she is, attempting to deny a Normal Citizen of those same Rights. The same Rights that support her own”Privileges”.
Sidenote: I can’t keep up with all of the various instances of the Leftist / Social Justice Privileges (like the LGBTQRSTUV… – more seem to be manufactured every time I turn around). So is it her White Privilege that is enabling her to do this? How about her gender / sex Privilege (or is that to be considered two for the price of one nowadays? I dunno anymore)? Is it that she’s Electorally Privileged? Could be her Sociological Privilege shining through. Oh, oh, how about Economic Privilege?? Is that it? There are just so many that the Left has (instead of separating and dividing everyone, we Conservatives only see the actual person) who WANTS to try to immerse themselves into that bucket of self-indulgence and self-righteous nincompoopery?
Naw, she’s just a Socialist and she seemingly believes that’s all that’s needed. But I digress.
Progressive / Socialist elected officials have taught me at least one thing over the years – they hate to be held accountable. Every single dang one of them. It’s almost as if they feel that they are the New Aristocracy born, not to represent or even to govern, but to rule. All we have to do is to look backwards into the history of the last century and the previous one to see how Socialists organize, crowd out, then “kill out”, those that oppose them. Russia, China, Viet Nam, East Germany, the Slavic nations; each and every one has followed the same path of illiberalism and reverting from the radical idea of our Founders that Individuals were to be the sovereigns and not The State. Indeed, the State was to be responsive to Civil Society and said Individuals – Socialism is the opposite. It is our goal, here at GraniteGrok, to hold those that would repeat that action in which The State oppresses the people accountable.

Yes, like NH State Rep Debra Altschiller. So in Part 1, we saw that she openly defied her oath to our Constitutions – she sought to silence a Normal citizen speaking out against her elected Representative. A denial of the Constitutional Rights that gives her husband a living. It is not her role to do so – but she did so anyways. She DEMANDED a Silencing – censorship. When is it the Proper Role of Government to do that? Or an elected official therein?
The answer is NEVER. THAT is the start of the slippery slope to totalitarianism. Give her this: Altschiller isn’t stupid. She is, however and by history, ideologically driven and that ideology is NOT of our Founding Fathers (else why should she even BEGIN to think of censoring someone else???).
This action could not be left to stand unchallenged and it wasn’t. First note that an Amy Alfaro ALSO took her on for (allegedly) committing a physical assault on a senior citizen in the NH State House. I then started to hold Altschiller responsible for her anti-Free Speech action:
OK, a bit of a run-on by me but it really was about accountability. And this is where Progressives take umbrage – their history can never be used against them. Their own words cannot be quoted. Their actions must go down the Memory Hole.
They should be measured against the standards that they swear to protect. And then she responded…
