Oxford Worried About People Using Memes to Spread ‘Fake News’ But not CNN.

Speech Police

Fake news was invented by the media establishment to discredit sources of information over which they have no control. The concept is based on a standard Liberal belief. You are too stupid to know the difference.

It’s the same mindset that drives all liberal policy. From drinking straws and grocery bags to the medical procedures your body needs. The best liberal solution is for them to regulate and manage it from afar. To do this they will deprive you of the fruits of your labors because you aren’t smart enough to know what to do with your own money.

For that to work they need to control the stream of information to ensure these progressive dreams are realized. Truth is the enemy of their agenda. So it amuses me that those smart people at Oxford are concerned about fake news in the form of memes and short YouTube videos. A scourge more nefarious, perhaps, than vaping.

“On Instagram and YouTube it’s about the evolving nature of fake news – now there are fewer text-based websites sharing articles and it’s more about video with quick, consumable content,” she said. “Memes and videos are so easy to consume in an attention-short environment.”

Again, you are too stupid to know the difference. Unwilling to question the motivations of the source. As opposed to say, Climate Change, which the experts tell us we are not to question. You are not even allowed to debate it. Refusing to accept a pro-climate cult meme or YouTube video would make you a denier of truth.

It’s all about information control

From Net Neutrality to speech policing on Campus, Antifa mobs, (remember the fairness doctrine?), name-calling, and yes, sites like GraniteGrok being referred to as a hate site.

It has nothing to do with what is real or fake or love or hate. Truth is not the goal. It is about controlling the message first and the liberal belief that this is necessary because you are an idiot.

Or, maybe, the problem is that they don’t think you are stupid enough?
