Remember the Bernie Sanders town hall program on Fox? It was an instructional show, if you were paying attention. It turns out Bernie is part of the ‘evil 1%’ he has made a career demagoguing. He paid way less taxes than what he thinks people in his tax bracket ought to pay. Hard to believe Bernie would be a hypocrite, right?
Do as I say, not as I do
He could have given the 52% that he says rich fat cats like himself ought to give. You understand he’s made himself part of the “do as I say not do as I do…” crowd. He was asked why he didn’t voluntarily pay that much? When he responded, first he attacks the questioner. Then he deflected to Trump’s taxes. But he never did directly answer the question. HMMmmm…
Bernie, the demagoguing the Socialist, did NOT give extra money to the government even though he is:
(a) One of the rich One-Percenters.
(b) Cashing a checks given to him by the government
(c) Claiming that paying extra taxes to the government is a moral good.
(d) Claiming Trump is a tax cheat.
Bernie professes to believe in the world of the collective, all socialists do. The belief is that the collective always comes first. All things are sacrificed for the greater good. Bernie’s behavior is typical of a socialist. It is exactly why they cannot be trusted. They talk about the high ideals and greater good but they accumulate money and power and control to themselves, personally. It is why socialism always becomes tyranny… it always enslaves the people and empowers the elite.
A more laudable American example
Trump is a republican. He professes belief in America, her principles and values. Those values include valuing the individual. The logic is that the individual is the foundation of society. Individuals then bond together into nuclear families to form the building blocks of American society. Every person deserves freedom, respect and dignity as their birth right. Upon this foundation our nation is built.
So let’s do the comparison. Before taxes Trump makes $400k per year for his role as President. The President has given his wages away. Bernie is generous with other peoples’ money. Trump is generous with his own. In 2017 he gave his pay to: National Park Service, Department Of Education, Department Of Health and Human Services, and Department Of Transportation. In 2018 he gave his pay to: Department Of Veteran’s Affairs, Small Business Administration, and National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. And this year he gave it to the Department of Homeland Security.
So, the free market capital guy, the guy who is fighting for fewer taxes and lower governmental burden, has given more than he had to. Not only that he is working for free. The Socialist on the other hand is keeping as much as he can of his book sales. The man keeps his government service paychecks. He’s pinching his pennies so tightly he makes the buffalo cry.
Nothing stops Bernie from giving more than the minimal amount he’s obligated by law to give the government. But he simply does not do it. America is not and should not be lining up to accept the chains of tyranny he and his fellow socialists would impose on her. The guy we’ve got in office now has shown himself to be a fighter for the cause of ‘Draining the Swamp’ for which he was sent there. Trump went to Washington to protect our Freedoms from the all-consuming appetite of a monster government run amuck.
He’s started slashing red tape and taxes. The man is getting Government out of the way, so free people, individuals and businesses, can respond to the know nothings who tell us ‘you didn’t build that’. It’s not Trump who put America in chains. He’s the one setting Lady Liberty free. Today America is waking up. If you listen you may even once again hear Freedom Ring. It rang in Epping last night.
Conclusion
It is time to celebrate the heartbeat of what made America Great in the first place… Freedom… a free people, pursuit of happiness, property rights. A free people whose hearts and minds are truly unleashed to run with their own unique dreams of Life, Liberty. God bless America.
