House Democrat Says Focus on Kitchen Table Issues – Which Means What to a Democrat?

A House Democrat in charge of the Caucus Congressional Campaign Committee has a suggestion for her party. Stop focusing on the outrage of the day. Pay attention to kitchen table issues. That got me thinking. What does that even mean to Democrat’s, especially here in New Hampshire?

A brief review of their legisaltive priorities tells the story. New Hampshire Democrat kitchen table issues are, Banning convenience items you might use at or around your kitchen table.

  • Giving illegal aliens driver licenses.
  • Raising taxes on you and your employer.
  • Passing an income tax.
  • Making it harder for young people and low-skilled workers to find a job.
  • Making electricity cost more while making it harder to punish them for making it cost more.
  • Making it harder to quit smoking.
  • Taxing everything because “global warming.”
  • Pushing unfunded mandates on local towns.
  • Taking more of your money.
  • Leaving the door open for sanctuary cities.
  • Regulating job creators.
  • Putting children at risk.
  • Taking even more of your money.
  • Turning law abiding citizens into felons.

I can’t speak for everyone in New Hampshire but I believe the majority of them. None of these things is important to my family. No one gets up in the morning and thinks we need the government to make more decision-making power form us by raising taxes or fees.  We’re not clamoring to pay more for electricity or to give up our rights to bureaucrats or a bigger more expansive government.

But that is what Democrats want. Those are their kitchen table issues. Rob the citizens to grow government. Make it harder for voters to undo their handiwork. And make them less free.
