Sott Burns (D- Franklin) Might Not Know What A ‘Tax’ Is

taxThe Union leader has a story about the NH Democrats new Paint Tax.  NH House Democrats pushed it through yesterday, and I wrote about it here.

Rep. Scott Burns, D-Franklin, argued the program is voluntary for retail establishments and would help cities and towns save on paint disposal costs.

He argued that the bill does not institute a tax, but places a fee on retailers.

Two points. First, I read HB1570.  I did not get the sense that it was voluntary. Perhaps I missed that, but my gut feeling is that Democrat leadership lied to its caucus or New Hampshire Democrat Scott Burns is lying for them.

If The Keystone Pipeline Would Cost Koch Billions, Why Don’t Democrats Support It?

Shaheen Koch and a Smile
Is Jeanne Shaheen #addictedtokoch ?

We know Democrats don’t really care about jobs or the economy, or expanding oil and natural gas projects would be at the top of the list.  These energy development projects would be self-funded (no taxpayer boondoggles), and would require the oil and gas companies to invest their own cash on materials, employees, wages, and benefits, all of which would inject new revenue into the economy while lessening dependency on taxpayer-funded support systems.

We know democrats don’t want that. It could also mean affordable energy, lower gas prices, warmer winters, which Democrats also seem to oppose.  What I don’t get is why they would object to the government and the states involved earning more tax revenue without having to raise or add taxes?  (Did that question just answer itself?)

So how about another incentive, particularly when it comes to the keystone XL Pipeline?  According to the environmental left–depending on what day of the week it is, Koch industries could lose billions.

More oil would lower prices and cost them profits.

WashPo

Koch’s oil production in northern Alberta is “negligible,” according to industry sources and quarterly publications of the provincial government. Moreover, Koch has not reserved any space in the Keystone XL pipeline, a process that usually takes place before a pipeline is built.

Planned Parenthood Wants To Unseat A Pennsylvania Democrat

ramirez-gosnellWhy would planned Parenthood want to unseat a Democrat State legislator whom they endorsed in 2010?  The legislator is Democrat Margo Davidson.  Margo’s cousin is Semika Shaw.  Shaw is the woman who died as a result of the ministrations of one Kermit Gosnell.

Davidson supported legislation in Pennsylvania that would bring abortion clinics in line with other health care facilities, requiring regular inspections to ensure that conditions like those in Gosnell’s clinic did not affect the health and lives of any other women in the state.

Brandon McGinley at The Federalist shares Davidson’s word on the House floor back in 2011.

Today I honor [Semika’s] memory by voting for this legislation that seeks to safeguard the health of women that is long overdue, so that never again will a woman walk into a licensed healthcare facility in the state of Pennsylvania and be butchered, as she was, with her uterus perforated and her death of sepsis and infection permeating in her body till she writhed in pain on the floor of her home to her ultimate death.  And today I thank the members of this house that supported this legislation for the safety of women.

Rep Davidson saw Gosnell’s clinic for what it was; the back alley abortion clinic that Democrats promised they would protect women like Semika from having to endure.  Her reward from Planned Parenthood?  Their endorsement of her primary candidate.

Meanwhile, In New Hampshire, We’re Growing Government And Raising Taxes

Presidential Candidates Address NRA Annual Meeting In St. LouisYou could do a lot of good with a growing economy that results in a state with a nearly Billion Dollar Surplus.  Meanwhile, here in New Hampshire, Democrats are already spending that Medicaid Money and looking for new taxes.

Limbaugh cited an Associated Press report run Wednesday on page A14 of the New York Times about the Wisconsin Assembly passing Walker’s $504 million tax-cut plan. As previously reported by TheBlaze, Walker intends to use part of Wisconsin’s projected $977 million surplus to pay for property and income tax cuts.

Minimum Wage Hike = Fewer Jobs, Higher Prices

We’ve talked about this.  Obama wants to kill jobs.  NH Democrats want to kill some jobs.  Make prices go up.  Reduce full-time opportunities.  Make it harder for new or unskilled people to find work.  Everyone knows what will happen, and still the Democrats persist.  They are willing to harm New Hampshire families to pad their … Read more

Bedford School District Survey For Students Age 9 to 11

This is interesting.  And Hat Tip to Rich Girard for prying it out of the Bedford School district, and Ann Marie Banfield for sharing.  It is a survey for ages 9 to 11 and is called the  DAP_Preteen Sample Survey.

It asks your children to rate 58 statements from between “not at all” to “Almost always.”  The important point here is that Taxpayers are paying for this stuff.

Here’s a screen grab of the PDF.  (Read Superintendent Tim Mays remarks to Rich with regard to the survey on the jump)

Meet the NH Democrat House Paint Tax

paint colors - - House Paint taxI think this goes in the “Let’s make up a problem to solve” file.

The New Hampshire House…for clarity that means Democrats, just passed a tax on paint.

Retailers will be required by law to assess this tax to be determined by the Paint-tax-Tsar on every container of interior or exterior paint that is 5 gallons or less.

The money will be used to finance a new bureaucracy whose role it will be to collect unused paint and paint containers and to steward them to an environmental Nirvana.

My town dump does that already without another tax for a Paint Stewardship Program.

Non-Citizen’s Voting Not Just A Problem in Hanover New Hampshire

VVote From Here - No Matter Where you live! You should know the story of Parker Gilbert by now.  The student from London, England who registered from his dorm at Dartmouth and voted in Hanover.  New Hampshire.  A swing state.  Then he was accused of rape and arrested.  He is going to trial.  But hey, there’s still no vote fraud in New Hampshire.

Then there’s Florida.  Florida is a swing state too, and guess what?  A local NBC affiliate managed to track down dozens of “registered voters” around the Ft. Myers area who voted in November 2012 (like our boy Parker) and who are also not citizens of the United States. (They call it voter fraud in Florida.)

Thanks For The Deaths And Resignations…

Guest Post- Mark Acciard: “The Scourge of Atkinson”

As we all know a year ago Phil Consentino was FIRED from his position as police chief, and elderly affairs director, and he was fired for cause. What most Atkinsonians do not know is what that cause was. He was fired pursuant to a sexual harassment complaint from a female employee. It was investigated by a third-party firm, and the selectman, immediately upon reading their findings, decided to fire Consentino for CAUSE.

The accusers eight page complaint detailed almost 5 years of repeated sexual harassment from Consentino. YEARS of innuendo, suggestive comments, suggestive gestures, touching her, smelling her hair, groping himself in front of her, staring at her while touching himself, were all painstakingly detailed in her complaint.

I would ask what kind of pig would treat a woman this way, particularly a woman who works next to his wife, but we now know the answer to that question.

Pro-Rape Democrats And Their Republican Abettors – (See also SB 244)

Pro-rape Democrats and sexual-assaultWomen who carry firearms and are encouraged to learn how to use them have a significant advantage over those who have been disarmed by pro-rape Democrats and their Republican abettors.   Weight, strength, even numbers are no guarantee that a woman is an easy target for sexual assault.   She is no longer just another victim.

I don’t have the numbers but it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.

Rape is most likely to occur where attackers know that women are most helpless.

In a state like new Hampshire, which values the right to self-defense, violent crime is consistently one of the lowest in the nation.  The majority of sexual assaults that do occur here happen in places (say…on or near college campuses) where prohibitions against firearms are not just advertised, but glorified by pro-rape Democrats.   Would-be attackers know these women have been disarmed by Democrats so the odds of a successful attack are greatly improved.

But that’s never enough.  Not for Democrats and their water-carriers.
