The Republican state party sure knows how to pick em.  Take Jerry Little, Gerald H. Little, the NHGOP establishment’s banker/cash mule for the State Senate seat in District 8.  If you wanted to make another case for a candidate who contradicts a commitment to Republican principles (for state office), Jerry Little the NH GOP establishments Senate Candidate, might be your poster boy.

This is a guy who has been spending his money on the NH State senate for more than a decade.  On Democrats.

In 2000 he donated to Lou D’Allesandro, Rick Trombly, Bev Hollingworth, all Democrats.  (He donated to Bev in 1998)

In 2002 Jerry Little supported, Sylvia Larsen and Bev Hollingworth.  (Little supported Larsen in 1998 as well.)

There’s a hole where he may have been donating below the threshold for tracking purposes but come 2008 he is still donating to Democrats,

Last night I posted a list of donations by Democrat Donor Jerry Little, the NHGOP’s hand picked “republican” candidate for NH State senate district 8. (I’d prefer JP Marzullo in District 8.)

This morning, thanks to some additional work by other activists and the modern day convenience of email, I can update that list.

We now know that Jerry Little’s donations to Democrats (so far) span a period from 1996 to 2012.

The Union Leader has a front page story titled CDC Survey finds Texting a NH Hazard.   The article is about risky teen behavior with an emphasis on texting.  They quote experts, which is amusing when you look at the big picture.  Trust me.

Cigarette smoking makes an appearance in the article, which is only important because when I read it I said, no frikkin way.  I actually said that out loud.  It was what drove me to dig into the actual report, where I found all kinds of news we could have used to put what was reported in a proper context.

Republicans as a party, the establishment variety, in particular, are like awkward children of privilege who get upset when their money isn’t enough to make them popular. They stamp their feet and whine, even threatening. How dare you do this, you’ll rue the day that. It’s all very annoying. But more than a few Republicans fall for it, much like large swaths of people believe the tripe that creeps out of the mouths of liberals.

For the left, the threat of preference is banishment from the collective. If you don’t get in line, you don’t belong. You’ll be outcast, marked, scorned, and probably ‘burned’ at the media stake.  It’s all very medieval.

Republican insiders play the same games, but their favorite cudgel is named unity.

The president and CEO of Simon and Schuster had to have been one of the people who signed off on Hillary Clinton’s fourteen million dollar book deal pay-day; a book that is being summarily trashed; a book tour that is being ridiculed.

But when you’ve got a thing for the candidate….

Carolyn Reidy, former manager at CBS, and current president and CEO of Simon & Schuster, is a Hillary Supporter.  When Mrs. Bill Clinton ran in 2008 Ms. Reidy made at least three donations totaling $2,300.00 dollars to Hillary Clinton for President.  I’m sure as a manager at CBS, a period that has overlapped her leadership at S&S, she provides input on the standard media in-kind contribution to politicians she favors.  Maybe?

Whatever the relationship, Reidy can’t be the only stiff in S&S leadership who has a thing for Hillary. Fourteen Million? They think America likes her that much?

We got more of that Republican ‘Unity’ the other day. You will recognize it right away. It is the same Republican unity that resulted in a New Hampshire Republican sponsored expansion of ObamaCare in NH. A gas tax. Support for a speech chilling, anti-first amendment bill, an anti-gun rights bill and others.

The unity of which I speak comes from Republican Party Chairman Jennifer Horn.  She showed her true color, Brown, when she publicly tore into Jim Rubens and Bob Smith for not immediately signing a letter of support for whichever of them won the GOP Primary to challenge Democrat Jeanne Shaheen. Horn stated that their refusal suggests they could later choose to support a third party or even Democrat candidate instead of the Republican primary winner.

That’s amusing coming from a state party with a habitual tendency to ignore and even impede the effort of Republican candidates that have not fallen close enough to the NH-GOP ruling class tree.
