A plucky berg in California and its Mayor Pro-tem, a descendant of Japanese immigrants, has moved to protect local businesses from the trap set by the state.

Los Alamitos, the second smallest city in Orange County, just passed a huge ordinance asserting the city’s compliance with the United States Constitution. Specifically, in an unprecedented yet necessary state, the council voted to opt out of the immoral, unconstitutional mandates of SB 54, aka the California “Values” Act or Sanctuary State law.

School Choice for New Hampshire has a post up about School Districts that ask more of Home Schoolers and their families than the law allows. You’ll see a few of the “usual suspects,” district who get a lot of attention from the bloggers around our quaint little shop. What’s more important here, however, is that you review the issues being reported and the links to the actual statute, so you can explore whether your district is breaking the law by asking for things that are not required.

It appears that hostile districts deliberately prey upon unaware home-educating families, hoping to take advantage of their trust.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) has announced a hotline,

“…to help students who have been harassed, intimidated or bullied for resisting peer pressure to join the wave of protests against guns and the right to keep and bear arms.”

As Bearing Arms Notes, this is (sadly) necessary,”…because of the actions of some school administrators (National Walkout), the dividing line has been drawn. Now people know, and that makes it possible to single out students who hold the “wrong” opinions.

Nothing says we are one with your plight than limousine liberals with millions in the bank (earning millions) and living large holding a pow-wow on inequality.

On Monday evening, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Michael Moore, and economist Darrick Hamilton hosted a townhall on inequality in America. This makes sense, since they should know an awful lot about it: Sanders owns three homes, Michael Moore owned nine homes as of 2014 and was worth $50 million then, Warren lives in a $2.4 million home and is worth between $3.7 and $10 million herself. All three of them are intent on rectifying the financial imbalances in America by taxing people who make less than they do to pay people who make even less than that, presumably.

Classic elitist ruling class group-think. We’re rich so we must know what poor people need – government to steal for them.

The combined online readership of the Berlin and Conway Daily Sun.com have (only briefly, we hope) knocked us out of fifth place in our list of Alexa Rankings in this March update. But not by much. And not for long.

We’ve experienced another month of exponential growth in unique visitors and page views. Some percentage of those will be using the Alexa add-on in their browsers (hint-hint) which helps out ranking with this globally recognized metric.

Kurt Schlichter has a new piece at Townhall titled, “The Joy and Necessity of Driving Liberals Nuts,” which is not at all unlike what we do around here. With pleasure, I might add.

But is that all this is? Is our movement simply about slamming the people we’re annoyed at and nothing more?

Of course not.

Napoleon (allegedly) warned that you should never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake, and dismissing your opponent – especially one who snatched away the presidency from The Smartest Women in the History of Ever – is always a grave strategic error. A few years ago Mount Holyoke College announced it would no longer permit any presentation of The Vagina Monologues because,

“at its core, the show offers an extremely narrow perspective on what it means to be a woman … Gender is a wide and varied experience, one that cannot simply be reduced to biological or anatomical distinctions, and many of us who have participated in the show have grown increasingly uncomfortable presenting material that is inherently reductionist and exclusive.”

Fast forward to now, and the College has taken another “small” step toward eliminating other forms of thinking which are inherently reductionist and exclusive.

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is getting all sorts of love from the left after Jeff Sessions fired him Saturday, a day before he could earn a full pension. And he’s got things to say to the media, which is great because McCabe is so dirty the more he talks the longer the rope with which he’ll hang himself.

A little more perspective on the political “wisdom” of yutes.

…[E]ven if students really were disproportionately likely to be victims of gun violence, that would not be a good reason to give special credence to their policy views. Personally experiencing a horrific event or being at disproportionate risk of suffering one, doesn’t necessarily give you special insight into how to prevent such tragedies from occurring.
