How old were they really??

founding-fathers-declaration-of-independenceI always thought that they were relatively old – or as my sons now say – my age.  Progressives denigrate them as old white guys (have have no moral standing because of slavery or kicking the American Indians off their land or something) – emphasis on Old.  Founding Fathers kinda denotes “older” but here’s a list from the Journal of the American Revolution that gives us the ages of those from our history and their ages on July 4, 1776 (er, corrected from type of 1774, thx to LoneStarGrok) -surprised the heck out of me!

Signers of the Declaration up first and after the jump; some other “names” you might recognize after the jump.

War on Coal – battleground Ohio

Laser Beam on Coal JobsThe EPA is nothing more than Obama’s own “hatchet man” that is implemented his policy of Determined Weakness (TM) in the energy industry. Since he is above the Law and above the Constitution, our Constitutional Lecturer (and he has never stopped lecturing us) President, Obama can and is simply ignoring the fact that Congress never passed a Cap N Trade bill or a Carbon Tax bill.  No matter, he just can WAIT to do it on his own (it boosts his self-esteem by making him feel kingly).

For this, IMHO, he’s joined forces with the Enviromentalists that have infested the EPA and Interior Department  that believe that we Americans use way too much energy – and now we shall pay for our past sins.

Notable Quote – Radical Moderate

I just put this up about perceived differences between how Conservatives see people vs Progressives.  A frequent commenter by the name of Radical Moderate just left a great illustration: The economy has collapsed and the country is thrown into chaos. A conservative and progressive who haven’t eaten in days are walking down a country road … Read more

Where pigs fly, Hell is selling ice cubes, and I can’t believe I’m agreeing with him

Can I PLEASE put this under “even a stopped clock is right twice a day”?  Here’s the news at which, I have to admit, I just grimaced:

Senate President Peter Bragdon, R-Milford, on Tuesday accepted the $180,000-a-year job of running the Local Government Center, the controversial nonprofit that manages health and other insurance plans for cities and school districts across the state.

Bragdon, 50, signed a one-year contract and starts Wednesday as executive director, replacing George Bald, the former state development commissioner who took over at the LGC for the past six months.

…Bragdon said he will remain as Senate leader and intends to seek re-election as senator in 2014. He plans to remain a member of the Milford School Board for a term that runs another 18 months.

As for conflicts of interest, Bragdon said he would abstain from taking part on any legislation related to municipal and school insurance risk pools at the Statehouse and any insurance contracts when the LGC would be a bidder before the town’s school board

Right – the revolving door which has been used WAY too much lately – just another example of one hand of The Ruling Class greasing another hand – of the same Class.  I certainly can’t remember anything like this before (not that I’ve been watching this closely for all that long).  But really – this is just plain ugly.

So now we have the Super-Duper Sterling Political Optics of an NH GOP Chair who didn’t pay her Federal Taxes and now the highest ranking Republican in the State (Ayotte being Federal) getting paid by both sides (yes, $100 still counts as getting paid – taxes do get pulled from it) of the lobby scene – head of those that have to listen to the lobbyists, and then the head honcho that tells lobbyists

Go sic’em

Paint those optics black.  And yes, I can’t believe that I actually agree with

Voter Fraud – so NOW they want off the Voter Checklist?

Scalped_procLooking like some of the folks we have been writing about concerning them being “drive by Voters” have figured out that they’ve figuratively been “Voter Scalped” – and have turned in their resignation papers.  Does this mean that they are dropping out of the political wars?  From SeacoastOnline: (reformatted, emphasis mine)

Three Obama campaigners drop Fuller Clark address

PORTSMOUTH — Three Obama for America campaign workers, who registered to vote using Sen. Martha Fuller Clark’s address, have been removed from the city’s voter list at their request, according to the City Clerk’s office.  The three are Bryan Gregory Griffith, Andrea Marie Riccio and Ellen Rose Whelan-Wuest. According to the clerk’s office, all recently wrote letters to the city asking to be removed from the voter checklist and the letters were referred to the city’s Board of Registers. The board met Tuesday and removed them from the voter checklist, the clerk’s office reported. Fuller Clark’s spokesman, Keith McCrea, said on Tuesday that the senator had no comment.Fuller Clark previously explained that Griffith worked for the Obama campaign and stayed at her home from last June or July, through December. Riccio, she said, was her 2008 campaign manager before moving to Washington, D.C. in 2009, and that she hadn’t lived or voted in New Hampshire since then. Fuller Clark said Whelan-Wuest worked for the Obama campaign in 2008.

But they STILL were on the voter checklist AFTER the state wide purge?  HOW was Andrea Marie Riccio still on the checklist?  Who asked that she NOT be removed?

Let me see if I have this right – if we don’t fall in line with Rubio’s comprehensive amnesty bill, we get Obama’s

Executive order?  Oh, so you want us to help you rearrange your deck chairs on your own personal amnesty Titanic?

“I believe that this president will be tempted, if nothing happens in Congress, he will be tempted to issue an executive order like he did for the DREAM Act kids a year ago, where he basically legalizes 11 million people by the sign of a pen. Now, we won’t get an E-Verify, we won’t get any border security. But he’ll legalize them,”

– US Senator Marco Rubio (FL-A)

A – Appeaser.  So, once again, you want us to vote for the least bad of two – or is this reverse psychology to make us think that simply giving amnesty to 11 – 20 million illegal aliens is going to make it better, simply because of an R next to his name?  Look, I’ve been listening to this crap of “the other guy or guy’s plan is worse” for decades when the initial premise is absolutely wrong from the get-go.  As he has demoted himself to be Reid’s messenger boy, there’s a reason why he’s on the down speed elevator in the latest polling here in NH.  Like trap door floor quick.

The TEA Party in Florida sent him to the Senate to oppose Obama and the Democrat policies – and in this, he is seen as being complicit.  Sorry, but saying that we won’t get this and we won’t get that – Yo, Senator Marcos, given his current track record (and that of his underlings) of simply just ignoring ANY part of a law that’s been passed (e.g., like the IRS saying they’ll give tax credits through the Obamacare Exchanges run by the Feds EVEN AS THE LAW SAYS IT CAN’T.

OK, what do you think about how a Conservative views others vs Progressives?

NH Advantage - Freedom, low taxes, low crime, low poverty, high quality of life, high average income, and more.Sometimes I just have a lot to add to something that someone has written and the following is something that I do believe to be true from MY Conservative / libertarian leanings stand point.  Pretty much, I do believe this segment from a RedState post by plumely summarizes the outlooks of Conservatives vs Statist Progressive Democrats – and I say that with the added real life actions of what kinds of legislations and regulations are generally passed:

This belief translates into how I view we should be governed, and I think it is in line with what our Founding Fathers had in mind as well.

  • Because people are inherently good they need to be rewarded for their goodness.
  • that reward comes in the form of freedom– all of those rights afforded to us in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
  • The Government’s only role should be to protect us from theft and murder. In order to do that, it must be restricted, so that we are free to obtain the means to protect ourselves.

Is this view perfect? No, and I believe others could articulate it better. But it is the best way I know how to make the principles that the Founding Fathers put forth my own. Now with that said, here is what Liberals believe:

And California doubles down “No difference between boys and girls in school”

The California bill, which was backed by a coalition of organizations including Transgender Law Center, Gay-Straight Alliance Network, Gender Spectrum, Equality California, ACLU of California, National Center for Lesbian Rights…

When everyone is special, then nobody is special”  – The animated movie “The Incredibles”

popcorn at the movie theater / cinemaI posted up about a school district being forced by the Federal Department of Justice to let a a guy who still has girl equipment be a guy in all aspects of school – bathrooms, locker rooms, teams.

The Arcadia Unified School District in Southern California will now allow a female ninth grade student to use the boys’ bathroom after the Department of Justice launched a discrimination investigation based on a complaint……the school district will take a number of steps to ensure that the student, whose gender identity is male and who has consistently and uniformly presented as a boy at school and in all other aspects of his life for several years, will be treated like other male students while attending school…

This is going to end up being a free for all, as I pointed out a bunch of “what POSSIBLY could go wrong” scenarios. Now, the whole State of California has just jumped all in too:

California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a controversial bill into law Monday afternoon allowing the state’s transgender public school students to choose which bathrooms they use and whether they participate in boy or girl sports.

The law would cover the state’s 6.2 million elementary and high school kids in public schools.

Voter Fraud – WMUR’s “Closeup” – INTENT – When a law is based solely on Intent, is it really a law?

WMURAnother clip from WMUR’s “Closeup” where Voter Fraud was the topic.  I did put up an excerpt quoting Grant Bosse from the Josiah Bartlett Center here where the take away was:

“We should just set up voting booths at the airport and at rest stops.”

In reviewing both segments again, the operative word that the Democrat leaning lawyer Martin “Marty” Honigberg and Uber-Progressive (and paid with by outside-the-State monies) Zandra Rice-Hawkins clung to like a life preserver off the Titanic was this: intent.  In essence, both of them incredulously exclaimed, in effect, how can ANYONE know what someone else’s intent about anything is.  Hey, perfect!  Intent in the Progressive redefinition project is similar to that of Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak – now you see me and now I have no idea who you are.  Or where.  Or what you think.  Or even if you think.  Because when you use that Democrat Invisibility “Intention” Cloak, not only does it hide’s somebody’s intent, but makes a Democrat go brain-dead.  Or in the vernacular of some – the butt of that phrase “don’t get stuck on Stupid”.  Seemingly, though, with respect to election law, it’s a great place for them to be.

Here’s the amalgam of how the word is used by Marty Honigberg:

  • It’s up to the individual
  • I don’t know WHAT her intention was and unless we talk to her and got inside her head [which we’ve tried to do]  which is something we can’t do

Based on that, Grant had the best summary of this line of thinking:

Nashua GOP Annual SteakOut – Col. Allen West!

Nashua GOP Steakout with Col. Allen WestEvery year the Nashua GOP holds this event and it is usually a good time.  The ‘Grok is almost always invited to cover the event and this year, we will be excited to be there as the main speaker will be former US Army Colonel and US Congressman, Allen West!

I have noted his story here on the ‘Grok since he appeared on the political scene – he is a compelling and “conservative fire & brimstone” kinda guy that holds no brook with Political Correctness and takes no prisoners (be they Democrat OR Republican) in a red meat defense of Constitutional and traditional values.  He’s put his life on the line for his country and put the life of his troops before his career.

Steak and red meat: what a combo!

WMUR – the Class of the Show by making a horrendus murder / suicide a political event

Update and bumped:  9:53pm and a loyal reader emailed to let me know that, indeed, WMUR rewrote their post:

Savyon was known to the local community through his political activity. He unsuccessfully ran three times for state representative as a Republican, including a special-election loss in Feb. 2012. He was also active in Libertarian activities and events.

I still maintain that what KC did was wrong and that this is just barely different – only the FSP notation was dropped.

——————————————–

Let’s all give WMUR’s KC Downey, their “Digital Media Manager” a great big Huzzah in helping to further politicize every nook and cranny of life.  Leave it to the MSM to make a story about a divorced man who killed his son and then himself a political hit job:

Savyon was active in Republican politics in New Hampshire and had a couple of unsuccessful bids for state representative, including a special-election loss in Feb. 2012. He was also active in the Free State and Libertarian movements.

Would you, KC, have done the exact same thing if the distraught man had been a Democrat and part of the Democrat Socialists of America?  Or a member of the reconstituted SDS / Weathmen radical groups?  Let me add in the Communist Party of America?  Or any other group to the left or far left of center?

Why the hell would you have brought politics into this at all – unless you were aiming to do a hit job??

Complete story after the jump because I’m betting this is going to get edited out.  Don’t bother – I’ve already screen scraped and saved the file.

Poke a stick in the Treehugger cage again: “I am an environmentalist, and yes I do want to limit your freedom”

My, aren’t we being a little totalitarian here, eh (you WILL change your life according to my beliefs)?

Your heterodoxy might need tweaking, especially if all of the warmist predictions (and the climate change models are all being shown to be wildly out of whack with their predictions to actual temperatures seen).  And if this turns out to be true (http://notrickszone.com/2013/08/09/major-danish-daily-warns-globe-may-be-on-path-to-little-ice-age-much-colder-winters-dramatic-consequences/), then perhaps we DO need to bring back the Hummer (would look good next to my Suburban).

As Grokster Steve captured here (“The Sustainable Development Challenge Grant program is also a step in implementing ‘‘Agenda 21, the Global Plan of Action on Sustainable Development,’’ signed by the United States at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.”), it IS all about Elites deciding “this is how you will live your lives”.  Oh yes, for those of you who accuse many of us of wearing the tin-foil hats, it is lines like that in the post title, what Steve caught, and the latest from HUD is that they will use the force of Government in re-writing local zoning to further “neighborhooddiversity” (but really to further the aim of Obama’s “regionalization”) that have our hackles up and furrows in our brows. We are supposed to be free – meaning to be free to decide things for ourselves.  A free country is NOT where the Government increasingly makes more and more decisions “on our behalf, for your own good” and then uses regulations and laws to make their choices, your choice.

Well, one Liberal Democrat loon politician in Britain (more akin to their Fabian Socialists – oh, ok, pretty much the same as our New Left driven Dems) decided that a perfectly good campaign idea to run on is to completely eliminate gas power vehicles:
