Former US Senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown, will be headlining an NH GOP fundraiser.  Given that he has had his vetting as Gun Control Advocate by none other than Mayor and Nanny of NYC  Bloomberg (whose Mayors Against Illegal Guns’s “No More Names” tour listed Boston Marathon Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev as a”gun victim” when it stopped in Concord, NH) who gave liberally (snicker) to his failed campaign against Elizabeth Warren, it is clear that Scott Brown’s stance that he’d be fine in supporting another Federal “assault weapon” ban. Thus, those of us that believe that the Republican US Senate Nominee should, at the least:

• fully support the Party Platform (“We believe that our founding fathers placed the 2nd Amendment in a position of prominence with intent; that law-abiding citizens of the United States of America have a right to protect and defend their lives, their families and their property without government infringement.”)
• whole heartedly support the Letter AND the Spirit of the US Constitution  (“Second Amendment: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”)
• show a full respect for the NH Constitution (“Article 2-a: All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.”)

As it is clear that Mr. Brown lacks quite a bit in these regards, we will be letting him AND the NH GOP Leadership know of our ire by staging this rally.In case you were thinking of bringing some signs (please! please!), here are some suggestions.  My favorite one?

And for once, we’re not the main cause –  merely willing hands (emphasis mine):

It’s not Brown’s carpetbagging that poses the biggest obstacle, although New Hampshire voters are much more skeptical of outsiders than Bay Staters. Nor is Brown’s biggest problem his faulty internal GPS, which at times causes him to speak of the “people here in Massachuse-” during Granite State appearances. Even Shaheen’s high popularity numbers wouldn’t be Brown’s biggest roadblock.

Above all, Brown would have a very hard time convincing voters that he loves the Second Amendment as much as they do. After sitting on the fence on the issue of gun control for most of his last Senate campaign, he was outed as a gun control advocate by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who cited Brown’s stance as the reason for endorsing and fundraising for him. After the Newtown shootings, Brown went farther, voicing support for a federal ban on assault weapons.

By that time Brown was no longer on any ballot, and he didn’t face the wrath of the National Rifle Association. The NRA largely stayed out of Brown’s previous election battles as well, in part because of the People’s Pledge, but more so because the NRA doesn’t care what the Massachusetts electorate does. But the same cannot be said in New Hampshire, where the issue of gun control is a political powder keg.

And our conversation with NH State Rep JR Hoell.  It seems that Miscellany: blue is one of our Progressive / Democrat trackers -THANKS for listening, Bill, reporting back to the Motherships, and driving some traffic our way; H/T to ya!   Nice to see, however, that with that 30 minute segment with JR, you chose to pick only 29 seconds and refused to give the full context of that conversation.  That’s ok, we used to having to explain things to the dim-witted and slow ones.  Now, we didn’t / haven’t done a transcript (note to self: gee, get the BeachTech unit or Dragon Naturally Speaking, where the latter could give us transcripts easily?).  But Bearing Arms did (Thanks! and H/T: Protect the Second Amendment – Resistance NH) do a longer one that gives more of a context and a couple of observations (reformatted a bit, emphasis mine):

During an interview with a conservative podcast, New Hampshire state Rep. JR Hoell (R) predicted that a day may soon come when conservatives need to rise up in armed resistance to their elected government.

If you listen to the actual audio Hoell doesn’t mention anything at all about “conservatives” rising up in armed resistance to the government at all. Millhiser is being purposefully dishonest.

Or “why does the Republican Party keep acting like Captain Luis Manuel Pinho?”

Translation: “Are you willing to die to save the life of a whale?”

So which Captain do we see in the Establishment Republican wing of the Party?

I have to admit that I’ve been watching this “reality show” for quite some time.  Whether or not you want to save whales, or even the politics of the thing, I watch if for no other reason to see if the Japanese were finally going to go” all ninja” on these self-righteous bullies whose morality allow them to attempt to or actually destroy other peoples’ private property to advance their agenda. Not, too, that they are far to easy to call themselves “Victims!” when the bullied retaliate (must have taken lessons from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton; that white boy Paul Watson can’t jump but can learn Democrat political theory). Anyways, for his antics over the years Watson is now in the legal dinghy in a roiling see – Ninth Circuit has ruled against Sea Shepherd USA and Interpol has warrants out for him.

Thus “sidelined”, a “non-entity,” but with the addition of a new ship (irony: a former Japanese whaler) that allowed two new Captains to step up “for the mission”:

• Captain Luis Manuel Pinho – a history of being a commercial captain, in charge of M/V Sam Simon (purchase monies given by the Simpson’s Exec producer, Sam Simon)
• Captain Peter Hammarstedt – a 29 year old (a save the whaler since 14), in charge of M/V Bob Barker (purchase monies given by game show host Bob Barker)

Let’s apply this to the current Republican Civil War – which kind of Captain do we really want?

When I first listened to this, I had no idea what to post about it – absolutely incoherent of an answer.  At least on her Benghazi answer, she had the good sense to say pretty much nothing.  Here, you can tell that what’s she believes is not what she can say to this audience (or, once again, absolutely totally unprepared).  Long pauses, obvious searching for words (not even the “right words” but ANY words that can constitute “an answer” without saying not much at all.

All I can come up with is “After all, Israel just can’t pick itself up and go somewhere else, right?”    Here’s my transcript – maybe you can figure out her non-answer of a non-answer:

DaTechGuy has good advice (emphasis mine, reformatted) for the Speaker of the House, given his outburst about Conservatives.  But guess what?

The reason you have a majority to be speaker , are invited to Sunday shows and have your press conferences covered is because of the Tea Party that mobilized to elect that GOP majority.  The reason you keep that majority is those Tea Party voters also gave the GOP the majorities in state houses when it was time to draw districts.

Imagine if the Democrat wave that swept through in 2012 had been just two years earlier?  How likely would the Republican wave DaTechGuy remembers from 2010 actually have happened in 2012?  Boehner wouldn’t have been Speaker and we would have had an uninterrupted reign of Madame “We have to pass it to see what’s in it” Pelosi.  Now go to the next level of scariness – if you thing US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has enabled Obama’s Unitary Presidency by making the Senate all but irrelevant in the Founders’ scheme of divided Government, where would we be after four years of co-joined rubberstamping by a tag teaming Pelosi?

Gratefulness?  Humility?  For acting as the breakers against which the Obama / Democrat tsunami was stopped?  Hardly – given what many have seen lately, there’s more than a fair share of Republican hubris along with Boehner’s  that they alone were responsible for 2010 – and have subsequently thrown the TEA Party’s enthusiastic ground pounders (with their ‘outmoded’ political philosophy and their totally out-fashioned suburban / rural sense of sensibilities for the absolute nuances rooted in DC) under the bus with the flair and expediency of Obama.  Add in Mitch McConnell’s antics and what we’ve seen at the State level, will 2010 be a generational high water mark due to lessons unlearned?  DaTechGuy continues:

FINALLY – a “yay! in that the boat may be swinging about.  We’ve been pounding on NH Republicans and the NH GOP on the truism: Consistency + Trust = Votes (all other things being equal).  But first, you have to ACT Consistently, and talk Consistently, and if you can master that (it really isn’t all that rocket scientist difficult), it becomes easier to “comment” on your opponents’ Inconsistency (heck, we’ve been doing it for….years now).  They may actually be starting to get with the program – and maybe can go on the offensive and not look the fools (as someone on their side is doing the same thing).

Now let’s be clear – Scott Brown may have been the most Conservative guy that could get elected in Massachusetts but New Hampshire isn’t Massachusetts (yet) and the definition of Conservative that works there is, well, rather lame here (e.g., go here).  But hey, go with me here for a bit: the NH Dems are in High Dungeon over the comings and goings of Mr. Brown thinking that he’s going to run for something here in NH, especially against Jeanne Shaheen an take her Senate seat.  So, now they’re in all-out attack mode to demonize him – but are looking like they are in All-Flail mode.  Problem is, they forgot they have a 6 to watch out for – and are now showing their lack of InConsistency, gave a wide open gateway to their opposition.  From DiStaso (emphasis mine, reformatted):

That would be the “Free State” of New Hampshire – 18th most economically free “sub-national jurisdiction” in North America (out of 60).

Even as Progressives are bound and determined to make the States completely subservient to the Federal Government Washington DC (even as much of the fight over the Constitution was to keep that from happening – see what happens when our schools no longer teach history??), we see that what happens in the States still has a big effect on their citizens.

It all comes down to “who is in control” and “who gets to decide what I can do” – the essence of Freedom.
