Well, it seems that we’ve stirred up the Liberal bees nest over guns

And our conversation with NH State Rep JR Hoell.  It seems that Miscellany: blue is one of our Progressive / Democrat trackers -THANKS for listening, Bill, reporting back to the Motherships, and driving some traffic our way; H/T to ya!   Nice to see, however, that with that 30 minute segment with JR, you chose to pick only 29 seconds and refused to give the full context of that conversation.  That’s ok, we used to having to explain things to the dim-witted and slow ones.  Now, we didn’t / haven’t done a transcript (note to self: gee, get the BeachTech unit or Dragon Naturally Speaking, where the latter could give us transcripts easily?).  But Bearing Arms did (Thanks! and H/T: Protect the Second Amendment – Resistance NH) do a longer one that gives more of a context and a couple of observations (reformatted a bit, emphasis mine):

Think Progress’s Ian Millhiser is the latest dainty progressive to take to his fainting couch over someone stating the obvious:

During an interview with a conservative podcast, New Hampshire state Rep. JR Hoell (R) predicted that a day may soon come when conservatives need to rise up in armed resistance to their elected government.

If you listen to the actual audio Hoell doesn’t mention anything at all about “conservatives” rising up in armed resistance to the government at all. Millhiser is being purposefully dishonest.

And I will add, so is William Tucker (above). Bob Owens continues:

The audio comes from interview about a coalition of hunting and outdoors groups who were going to be protesting at a GOP fundraiser. One of the men interviewing Hoell asked if protestors would be open carrying slung rifles and shotguns, which has happened at protests in the past.

That would have been me asking that question.  For those of you outside of NH, there have been several rallies around the State where people open carried their sidearms as well as their long guns.  My only purpose was to ask, not knowing what the protocol for THIS rally was to be (the others were perfectly fine with folks carrying).

Hoell advised protestors not to open carry because he’s aware of how the progressive media likes to dishonestly spin such displays as “threats”, leading in to the following statement:

We’re not here to threaten anybody. We’re here standing on our soapbox as opposed to standing with our ammo box in hand to make a point politically. The message needs to get out that Scott Brown does not represent New Hampshire.

If things continue the way they are, there may be a day or a time where firearms and ammo are necessary. It happened in the Revolutionary War. I’d like to think we’re not there yet, but as things continue to unravel, that may be the next step.

Let’s stand on out soapbox this time, and get out there with orange jackets and vests and hats, and make a big deal about, “this is not new Hampshire.” Scott Brown is a carpetbagger from a different state…”

Threatening anyone with firearm anywhere was never part of the conversation, and the dishonest propagandists at Think Progress own J.R. Hoell an apology.

I will also remind those out of State that a lot of us DO take our NH State Constitution VERY seriously – after all, even though Progressives want all such Social Compacts burnt at the stake, it does define and lay out our Foundational Law.  In it, there is Article 10 that speaks to this very notion (emphasis mine):

[Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

There it is, straight up.  There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.  That is the further context for our 30 minutes with JR.  No, the ‘Grok is not advocating for a Revolution at this time, perhaps never.  But the folks that wrote both the NH and US Constitutions understood basic human nature, the greed for power over others that will never be bred out of the human race.  For it is those that crave power seek it out in the levers and pulleys of Government so as to control the lives of others.  Just look at DC and the Administrative State that our Federal Government has become – the 10s of thousands of regulations that the few shower down upon the majority simply to instruct them on how they WILL live their lives.  And leaving less and less room for us to make those choices for ourselves.

So from MB, it went to ThinkProgress (really, ThinkRegressive) who decided to denigrate and impugn) a whole class of people (Conservatives) and show little of the vaunted tolerance of the Left and leading to the implication that Conservative are out to kill everyone.  May I remind TP that of all of the mass gun murderers lately, they’ve all been Left leaning or Islamic Jihadis and not rock-ribbed Conservatives?

Then it got picked up by OmahaNews that basically regurgitated the TP post.  NewsCentered decided to continue the wrong implication that “Hoell then invoked the armed uprisings of the Revolutionary War.”  He invoked nothing of the sort – and NC is trying to continue the meme that Conservatives are just ACHING and spoiling for a fight – and doing so by carefully snipping out the entire context. BothSidesClashed added to it.

But the cake taker was done by admin at Ecogidi with basically another cut & paste from TP (what, no original ideas in this latest bunch??) but with a snort of a headline

GOP Lawmaker Suggests Armed Rebellion May Be Necessary If Scott Brown Is Elected

How do you get theah from heah?  Oh, I can tell you – by stealing that headline from Puffington Host!  Now, go back and review the partial transcript from Bob Owens and THEN read this:

During an interview with conservative podcast Granite Grok’s GrokTalk on Saturday, New Hampshire state Rep. J.R. Hoell (R-Merrimack) suggested that it may some day be necessary to use “firearms and ammo” against the government if its policies continue to be shaped by elected officials like former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.).

Both sides accuse the other of twisting words – but here it is nothing but blatant and clear.  Really?  As a true-blue (I still hate the idea that the progressives and commies stole our real color!).  At no time did JR beGIN to intimate that Brown is the kind of candidate or official that would have others rise up in revolt?

Trust me, he’s not that good enough.  But I can think of one singular elected official whose policies might cause that….
