Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. As a TEA Party activist, citizen journalist, and pundit!, my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture.

Pro-Second Amendment / Anti-Scott Brown rally – a couple of thoughts

I learned a couple of things last night while at the rally:

  • The folks that came out last night are fired up – they DO take politics personally because politicians have been making legislation more and more personal
  • I think politicians on the Right are going to get caught by surprise at this – because while it has been the politicians on the Left that have made it personal (Progressivism: the personal is politics, politics is personal), they blame the Republican politicians for going along and allowing them to do it to them.
  • They feel they are being dissed by the Party that they feel should be standing up for them – a lack of loyalty.
  • They ask the question: “Why should I vote for you, or work for you, when you celebrate someone who does not respect ALL of our Rights?  Why should we sell out to you?”

And taking this personally, they personally are going to go out and let their family, their neighbors, and their friends know of their ire.  They are the influence makers that naturally should belong to the NH GOP – and the NH GOP absolutely needs them.  Instead, last night happened:

I also learned one other thing last night – I realized how old my vidcam is given how fast the battery ran down in the cold – thus, the paucity of interviews from last night.  However, before it died, I did get the chance to ask a few folks two questions:

  • What question would you ask Scott Brown?
  • What would you tell Scott Brown if he came over?

Pro-Second Amendment / Anti-Scott Brown rally – DaTechGuy!

The next person that I spotted was kinda in camouflage – normally it is his trademark Fedora hat I see but he had hidden it, given the season, under a red and white Santa hat.  To be honest, I was a bit surprised to see this MA based blogger (head of the DaTechGuy site and his Magnificent Seven as well as his syndicated radio show, DaTechGuy on Da Radio).  He with his DSL and I with the vidcam decided to interview each other (his post is here) – I think that he had a lot to say given that Scott Brown was his Senator and that Pete (DaTechGuy’s real name) has been covering NH politics for a while).

Freedom to Travel? Papers [Obamacare], please!

As this Obamacare nightmare has been rolled out, it has been very hard to not see how limited coverages have become – doctor access limited, hospital access limited, and choice of the plans themselves have been very limited.  In fact, here in NH, only one insurer has actually been approved (although another one may be entering).  However, they are also limited to geography – while many comparisons have been made between the States, little has been brought up that the costs and the coverage of plans can also be limited to a given county resulting in even lesser coverage.

County level coverage – an unintended consequence (or was it? Or yet another “hemming in” tactic for Sustainable Communities Initiative where one of the desired outcomes is a restriction of travel options)  is the lack the ability to easily move your domicile; move too far and while you might enjoy your new digs, you might not be enjoying your current healthplan.  And then I saw this over at American Thinker (reformatted, emphasis mine):

As of Dec. 15, the white, fluffy stuff covered 53 percent of the lower 48, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported. That’s a significantly higher portion than in recent years. In 2006, for example, snow covered just 12 percent of the lower 48 states on the same date, according to Climate Central, a climate news website.

Well, it seems that we’ve stirred up the Liberal bees nest over guns

And our conversation with NH State Rep JR Hoell.  It seems that Miscellany: blue is one of our Progressive / Democrat trackers -THANKS for listening, Bill, reporting back to the Motherships, and driving some traffic our way; H/T to ya!   Nice to see, however, that with that 30 minute segment with JR, you chose to pick only 29 seconds and refused to give the full context of that conversation.  That’s ok, we used to having to explain things to the dim-witted and slow ones.  Now, we didn’t / haven’t done a transcript (note to self: gee, get the BeachTech unit or Dragon Naturally Speaking, where the latter could give us transcripts easily?).  But Bearing Arms did (Thanks! and H/T: Protect the Second Amendment – Resistance NH) do a longer one that gives more of a context and a couple of observations (reformatted a bit, emphasis mine):

Think Progress’s Ian Millhiser is the latest dainty progressive to take to his fainting couch over someone stating the obvious:

During an interview with a conservative podcast, New Hampshire state Rep. JR Hoell (R) predicted that a day may soon come when conservatives need to rise up in armed resistance to their elected government.

If you listen to the actual audio Hoell doesn’t mention anything at all about “conservatives” rising up in armed resistance to the government at all. Millhiser is being purposefully dishonest.

Tell Scott Brown to Move On…need signs?

Protest Planned for December 19, 2013 at 5:30pm at the Hunt Memorial Building in Nashua, NH

(Shhhh:  Free AR-15 to be given to an attendee!)

Scott BrownFormer US Senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown, will be headlining an NH GOP fundraiser.  Given that he has had his vetting as Gun Control Advocate by none other than Mayor and Nanny of NYC  Bloomberg (whose Mayors Against Illegal Guns’s “No More Names” tour listed Boston Marathon Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev as a”gun victim” when it stopped in Concord, NH) who gave liberally (snicker) to his failed campaign against Elizabeth Warren, it is clear that Scott Brown’s stance that he’d be fine in supporting another Federal “assault weapon” ban. Thus, those of us that believe that the Republican US Senate Nominee should, at the least:

  • fully support the Party Platform (“We believe that our founding fathers placed the 2nd Amendment in a position of prominence with intent; that law-abiding citizens of the United States of America have a right to protect and defend their lives, their families and their property without government infringement.”)
  • whole heartedly support the Letter AND the Spirit of the US Constitution  (“Second Amendment: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”)
  • show a full respect for the NH Constitution (“Article 2-a: All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.”)

As it is clear that Mr. Brown lacks quite a bit in these regards, we will be letting him AND the NH GOP Leadership know of our ire by staging this rally.In case you were thinking of bringing some signs (please! please!), here are some suggestions.  My favorite one?

Clinton searched for a State as well.
