Changing the Paradigm: not just for a “win” but as an extremely valuable part of Speech concerning one’s values

Winning is merely a precursor; it is what is done afterwards that is most important

How often, as we stroll through life, are we insistent that things be “just barely good enough” or are willing to settle for even less?  Do we step up to the shopkeeper’s counter and roundly demand “give me something that doesn’t rise to excellence – sorta ok is swell with me.  Oh, and spare no price in doing so”!  Hardly.  We do not willingly settle for that which does not perform up to the task – or breaks under pressure.

No, we expect things to work, function, or taste to high standards (and if one is very well off, that “spare no price” really comes into play).  No, we do demand and expect the best that we can. Our standards in our personal lives (for most people)  are that once having expended time, talent, and money, that what we obtain will actually do the job for which it is specified.  It should work well, wear well, or taste well.  We expect our relationships with friends and acquaintances be healthy and satisfying.

Sorry, but here at the ‘Grok, if you tell us one thing during your campaign for office (adamantly anti-Illegal Alien Amnesty) and then flip on the issue for no discernable reason (other than what the picture shows to your left) (yes, she was then for it after being against it), we tend to take notice – and are keeping our flashlights on.  You see (like we are trying to educate Ed Mosca about), Principles matter to us – a LOT!  What IS the principle for you, Kelly?  Is it a strong one, resting on Granite?  Or the wind of political expediency?  After all, strong words AGAINST before election against, then strong words FOR a bit down the track.

But then when our Southern Border started looking like chicken wire, your Amnesty words fell silent.  You see, Kelly, we promised to watch – and listen.  Silence SHOUTS loudly.

Fast forward to today and the news that President Obama is granting Executive Illegal Alien Amnesty to 100,000 Haitians that aren’t even here yet – but will be soon based on Chain Migration.  Is this the kind of droids Amnesty you are looking for, Kelly?

Oh, and the news that President Obama is about to grant green cards to ANOTHER 34,000,000 Illegal Aliens?

We’ve talked / blogged that we at GraniteGrok keep getting yelled at for not being behind the NH GOP push for Scott Brown.  Look, we just don’t think that he’s the right Republican guy for the job simply because he’s wishy-washy on OUR important issues – and those are not fringe ones but main stream Republican ones.  Simply hearing him proclaim that he’s the “Anti-Shaheen” and the only one that can beat her doesn’t make it – we’ve grown weary of listening to politicians whose words don’t match their actions.  We demand Champions, not second / third / fourth losers.  We have researched his voting records and they simply come up real short.

We also keep getting told that we HAVE to vote for Scott Brown to get rid of Harry Reid as the US Senate Majority Leader.

Seattle just raised its minimum wage to $15 / hour and that also include small biz – the Mom & Pop type operations – as well as the big ones.  One of the biggest yellers at the time was the Socialist Freedom Party that was jumping up and down demanding others pay more for goods and services and using the force of Government (hey, what ELSE do nascent fascists and socialists do when they believe that Government should have total control over the private sector).

Obama Plans to Let Ebola-infected Foreigners Into U.S. for Treatment

Washington, DC – Judicial Watch has learned that the Obama administration is actively formulating plans to admit Ebola-infected non-U.S. citizens into the United States for treatment.  Specifically, the goal of the administration is to bring Ebola patients into the United States for treatment within the first days of diagnosis.

It is unclear who would bear the high costs of transporting and treating non-citizen Ebola patients.  The plans include special waivers of laws and regulations that ban the admission of non-citizens with a communicable disease as dangerous as Ebola.

There’s Larry Lessig’s PAC, the MayDay PAC, that is raising and spending millions of dollars this election cycle – to stop others from spending so much money.  So, too, is George Soro’s son.  The Left is as well.  Sorry, their stated of “taking the money out”, I believe, masks the real reason – stopping free speech (e.g., US Supreme Court’s “Citizen United” decision).  So even when Michelle Bachman starts complaining, I just shrug:

Retiring Rep. Michele Bachmann says it’s time to consider campaign spending limits, saying the levels of money raised and spent by candidates in recent elections have gotten out of whack.

“I believe that it is ridiculous the amount of money we’re spending on these elections; it’s gone into the realm of the bizarre and absurd, and even for Washington, D.C., standards,” the Minnesota Republican said Wednesday during an event hosted by the conservative Heritage Foundation in Washington.

Bachmann’s comments come four years after raising $13 million for her successful 2010 re-election bid to the House.

“That’s crazy money. That’s crazy that any candidate should have to raise that kind of money,” she said.
