Whiney privileged Millennial: America doesn’t want me to vote because it’s too hard!

If it’s not handed to them on a plate, or inconveniences them is some way, IT’S A PLOT AGAINST THEM!  The notable part from this Treehugger post about the inhumanity that she has actually do some homework (reformatted, emphasis mine).

…The U.S. didn’t seem to want me to vote…People complain that young people don’t vote. But America makes voting hard for young people. You have to register ahead of time. You have to figure out all the particular complicated rules for documentation and registration, which vary by state. And as an early career employee, you have to convince your boss to let you take time off work to actually go to the polls. Young people are more likely to move around, meaning they have to either re-register or figure out the complications of absentee ballots.

Dorothy Piquado – not NH Values

To the Daily Sun,

I’m a little late on this, given that Dorothy Piquado wrote about “The Frugal Four” and Gunstock back in late and early September. I take exception to her premises in both those Letters. The Frugal Four (now Three: Harry Bean, Jon Mackie, and Glen Aldrich) – those Republicans that promised Frugality and to which our NH Constitution explicitly calls out as a necessary ‘Social Virtues Inculcated’ (Article 38):

A frequent recurrence to the fundamental principles of the constitution, and a constant adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, industry, frugality, and all the social virtues, are indispensably necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty and good government; the people ought, therefore, to have a particular regard to all those principles in the choice of their officers and representatives, and they have a right to require of their lawgivers and magistrates, an exact and constant observance of them, in the formation and execution of the laws necessary for the good administration of government.

Apparently, this Democrat candidate for the NH House has never considered this as a necessary and, indeed, requirement of our lawmakers! She merely tosses it off with a throwaway line followed immediately thereafter with the infamous “BUT!” as in “I understand how important it is to be cautious with public funds. However, refusing to invest…”. Alright, she used the more highbrow version of “BUT! – the infamous “However” – so I stand corrected on wording.

The intent is clear – she picks on emotional issues in order to raise your taxes; you know, the anti “Mom and apple pie”. “Only government can handle this” is her message on this and everything else – her priorities but with your money. Sure, you could aid her by voluntarily sending her money but that’s not enough – she demands it as we see with her own words. After all, she was all distraught over the idea of Gunstock being made a private entity (Ask yourself – is owning a ski area a “proper role of government”? I think not as they have too many other things to get right first). And for the “horribilist” idea that a private operator might later close the area, well, there’s a rather simple solution to that – band together voluntarily with others and purchase it yourselves. No, this is not a trite answer I’m offering – but it is to those that only wish to work with other peoples’ money and not their own.

Which is what she wants to do in Concord, and her three joined-at-your-bank-account Democrat accomplices, if their campaign signs are to be believed.

From my stack of stuff: well, wasn’t Charle McMahon a bit smug and condescending?

This is left over from the Windham (NH) Primary debate where one of the moderators was Ken Eyring – one of the most gentle, self-controlled, and smartest guys I know.  Always prepared, always does his homework; he was treated rather badly by one of the candidates in the debate: RINO, Charlie McMahon (an incumbent Republican).

I’ve put the full transcript of this clip after the jump.  I’m putting this up for a few reasons:

  • First, McMahon is aloof, smarmy, and certainly full of himself
  • He also doesn’t want to be held to account – listen to he words and watch his demeanor – it is clear he doesn’t want to be challenged like this in an open forum
  • Full disclosure – I consider Ken my friend and I can tell you, being called intellectually unready is about the biggest insult you could call Ken.  The fact that McMahon would say that and then deny that he was being respectful is the height of actually being disrepectful.
  • Listen to his arguments – they don’t match up with what Ken has said about the bill WHICH KEN HAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. He knows he’s been caught and caught badly but attempts to bluster his way out of the trap he set for himself when he signed up for being a co-sponsor.

Finally, what the HECK is this “Republican” doing working to create an almost involuntary plan (we wrote about HB628 extensively here on GraniteGrok – we read the bill too!) and by definition, with an income tax? Somebody put an ejection seat under him and push the button, please:

A personal endorsement for Harry Bean for NH House from Gilford / Meredith:

To the Daily Sun,

This Letter is written in support of Harry Bean for the NH House of Representatives to represent the Belknap District 2 residents of Gilford and NH. I served with Harry last year on the Gilford Budget Committee and had many talks about how he sees our town, our State, and our Nation. A quiet man, whose family’s roots in Gilford span back to the 1800s, this veteran is dedicated to this town and to the Principles to which he swore his oath. He understands well the age old issue in politics of needs versus wants having been a long time entrepreneur – he knows how those decisions have affected both his family and those families that his business serves. He knows that “faux” compassion shown by his Democrat opponents, their insistence that “we must invest more” is simply that – just a smooth, silky voiced way to take money away from regular work-a-day families that may be struggling to put food on the table simply so that they can spend it on their “more proper” priorities than what those families would otherwise do.

Harry Bean – Candidate for NH House in Belknap District 2 (Gilford / Meredith)

The campaign signs and the mailings of the Democrat candidates for state rep (Gilford/Meredith) speak about “compassion” for county funding. I guess that they are unaware that their Republican counterparts this year overfunded the county by approximately one million dollars. These Democrats are beating their chests about their “compassion” by campaigning to spend even more for public schools, addiction recovery and health care.

What they won’t do is to be honest that your bank account exists to be an open-ended check to go fund their “compassions.” What they don’t seem to have is any real compassion for the fixed and low-income taxpayers who will be footing the taxes for their higher spending. But the Democrats don’t care about them — they only want more for government.

I am now of that age to register for Social Security; a couple of months ago, I did so to start soon.  I called at 3pm today to talk to a customer service representative to see if everything was all set.  Upon being transferred from automated system (rather annoying that they have decided that you HAVE to listen to information that THEY deem necessary but has nothing to do with why I was calling), I heard about 30 seconds bit of “on-hold” music and then got this in my ear:

Sigh: And an NH GOP Town Chair supports a Democrat

Yep, it’s almost like the NH GOP hates itself, right? Why would they keep allowing this to happen? Why would a Town Chair think he wouldn’t get caught? Reformatted, emphasis mine:

WINDHAM — The head of the Windham Republican Committee, who hopes to win a seat in the state House of Representatives in the Nov. 6 election, has resigned from his leadership role following a controversial endorsement of a Democratic candidate in the race for Rockingham County Commissioner. On Sept. 30, Joel Desilets used his personal Facebook page to endorse Derry’s Joshua Bourdon, praising him for serving “with the utmost character” as a Derry town councilor. Desilets wrote that Bourdon “will bring integrity to the office as our next county commissioner.” He asked voters to “please consider him for your vote.”

And the reason for this same on same betrayal?  Sounds like political revenge on the part of Joel Desilets – and he played it like a bumbling fool. He sounded like a schmuck as Mike and I  videoed a candidate night (NH State House Representative) in Windham – now he’s removed all doubt:

The sad story of the same suspect Republicans endorsing Democrats – what will the Party do?

Once again, like with almost any election in NH, the same names, the same sorry passel of Progressive Republicans (yes, there are Progressives that call themselves Republicans.  HOW they can do that intellectually as Progressivism is antithetical to the beliefs stated in the NH GOP Platform), the same RINOs, the same folks that couldn’t recognize a conservative Principal if it bit in the ankles, pop up in support of Progressive Democrats.  At least the latter belong in the proper Party – these should consider a move:
